naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Pujols just homered, and Rollins is 0 for 1 in his quest to keep alive his pursuit of Joe D's record.
treble 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 I cannot believe there isn't a single televised game for me to watch on Opening Day. This sucks. Gotta love Sportsnet showing pool, yachting, and skateboarding.
jwest27 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Albert~! Also, Rollins hits it right to Edmonds and he's 0-2. Even though it's against the Cards, I do hope he gets a hit.(Hopefully an infield single or something when we are comfortably ahead)

Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Murton is playing great at the plate and in left, hitting a 3-run homer and robbing Kearns of a game-tying GS. Glad we picked him up. We'll get more out of him than Nomar. Who knew? Me. I've complained many times about Murton being involved in that deal.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 The Mets win 3-2 as Beltran throws out Vidro at 2nd as he tried to stretch a single into a double. Most of the new Mets were excellent as. . . Nady went 4 for 4 with 2 2B, R, RBI Lo Duca was 2 for 4 2B, RBI Wagner got the S with an IP, K A much better start than the Braden Looper Memorial game in last year's opener vs Cincy. jwest27 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 They load the bases for Rolen.....and he responds with a grand slam. 8 run innning. Awesome.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 The Phillies taking it in the ass is almost as satisfying as the Mets victory.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 I love Opening Day. Everything's so fresh and you have to remind yourself that how your team fares on that day won't necessarily be indicitive of what the season's going to be like. Adam Dunn sure looks uncomfortable out in left today. You know things are bad when Cincy fans are booing you.

Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Opening day...trying not to get all too excited about the Sox already being just 1 game and all. That said I love their lineup 1-7 and Schilling looks GOOD right now hitting 95mph in the 4th. Only 1-7? What about Youks? Major upgrade over Kevin Millar at least. jwest27 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 2nd homer for Albert. Man, I wish every game could be this enjoyable.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 I'm telling you, there's something about Opening Day. Griffey just did the homer walk with the bases loaded and scared the shit out of me, but it was just a deep flyout to center. Dunn followed by striking out, which amped up the boos. Send him this way!

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Andruw Jones is working on picking up from his last season's campaign to be NL MVP with a 3-run shot in the 5th to probably kill the Dodgers for today.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Cubs tie their Opening Day runs record (set last season) with 16. That probably means they're getting blanked on Wednesday.

Guest Smues Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Listening to the Dodger's broadcast of the game on XM on the drive home got me thinking. Am I the only one who doesn't like when they switch who'se doing the broadcasting during a game? I like the same guys who the first inning to be there in the 9th. Guest Smues Report post Posted April 3, 2006 8-5. Blah. Oh crap I think it's about yo be 8-7. Phew he caught it 2 out in the 5th. Atlanta's bullpen having to get 13 more outs is not a good thing.
tominator89 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Great to see Rollins get a hit with a 3-0 count.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Good to see Rollins extend the streak. It's funny how some people are saying he only needs to hit in 21 game for the record, as if 21-game hitting streaks come cheaply. Considering how the likes of Hudson and Carpenter did today, I don't feel so bad about Zambrano. Coming in during the sixth, I was able to see why there were so many walks; real tight strike zone for both sides.
