Lil' Bitch Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 After seeing WM 22 with Cena / HHH, the crowd was into the whole match from start to finish, what other matches in wrestling history had fans eating the palm out of its hand for all if not most of the match? Remember, the crowd reaction doesn't have to be a good one either.
Just John Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 Goldberg/Lesnar and Hogan/Rock come to mind.
Hawk 34 Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 Canadian Stampede and Raw-Dallas '00 10-man tags are obvious.
algrim Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 - Angle/HBK from last year's WM - Angle/Edge from Backlash '02
MillenniumMan831 Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 JYD/Steamboat vs. Muraco/Fuji (Landover, MD 8/85) --- The fans were going psycho crazy in that one.
Guest Zarock Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 If we're talking internationally, then: Dump Matsumoto vs. Chigusa Nagayo El Hijo del Santo vs. Negro Casas Thunderqueen all come to mind.
The Mandarin Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 The heat for CM Punk vs. Austin Aries was over the top. Really loud audience. Magnum TA vs. Blanchard: I Quit Cage Match was pretty heated. Slaughter vs. Shiek at MSG (with probably the best finish I've ever seen) also got a NUCLEAR crowd reaction.
Perfxion Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Rock and Roll vs Anderson, 20 mins of crowd heat that never lets up.
cabbageboy Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Here's one: RVD vs. Jerry Lynn at the ECW Arena, TV title match. It was on a TNN show. This would be one where Lynn's ribs were injured, he feigns leaving for a bit, then comes back. Great match and the crowd was in a frenzy.
Just John Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Here's an off-the-wall one: The Steiners vs. Harlem Heat (Hog Wild 96) Some people say it's the racist hick bikers. I don't know. I don't personally buy that theory, but either way the crowd was super hot for the match. The early stages of the match were especially intense.
Special K Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 El hijo del Santo v Negro Casas is what came to mind immediately. AJPW title matches almost always have incredible heat. Hogan/Rock
CanadianChris Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 After seeing for the first time, the Flair/von Erich match at Texas Stadium qualifies. Crowd was NUCLEAR cheering for Kerry the entire match. They were going nuts for a fight over a wristlock.
Kardo Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Dan Kroffat & Doug Furnas v. Kenta Kobashi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi easily (from 5/92).
stahl Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Jericho/Benoit vs Austin/Triple H quad tear match had awesome heat.
Cuban Linx Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Dan Kroffat & Doug Furnas v. Kenta Kobashi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi easily (from 5/92). This was my pick as well, as hot a crowd as you'll ever see.
Dangerous A Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 Dan Kroffat & Doug Furnas v. Kenta Kobashi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi easily (from 5/92). This was my pick as well, as hot a crowd as you'll ever see. Thirded. I've only seen the majority of this match, as the word is the whole match is not available. I'm very curious if the crowd was just great that day or what these guys did before hand to heat the crowd up.
