Guest jaderock Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 The WWF's 2007 Survivor Series will come from Montreal's Bell Centre in 2007. After getting Hart involved in this years HOF ceremony, I'm guessing they'll want Bret to participate in some form. I doubt he will, but it would be nice to see a Harry Smith vs Shawn Michaels matchup with Bret as manager or ref?!?
Guest croweater Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 If Bret didn't come back for Wrestlemania, there's no way on earth he'd come back for the 10th anniversary of the screwjob. He wants nothing to do with anything that would make Vince money unless he feels like he deserves it (eg the HOF and the DVD, both of which he and his fans deffinately deserved.) I don't think Bret would ever be able to add that much as a manager, unless it was another Hart foundation type set up, and with the way the WWE is at teh moment any thing he does creatively with them will do nothing but bring him down.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 I doubt he will, but it would be nice to see a Harry Smith vs Shawn Michaels matchup with Bret as manager or ref?!? Whoa, did I stumble into an AOL chat?
Darth Vader Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 The better question is this: If Bret Hart was never screwed, could he have led The Alliance to victory?
Jingus Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Alliance? Victory? Over VINCENT KENNEDY MCMAHON? You gotta be joking.
Hawk 34 Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 We went almost 2 weeks without another Bret and Montreal thread.
Darth Vader Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Think about it, Austin was a TERRIBLE leader for The AL. Completely in it for himself with his stupid gauddy gold knee braces and that lame guitar. With Bret, THE PASSION to kill Vince alone would have had Vinnie Mac sceaming for the hills. He then would claim Stephanie McMahon as his bride and PILLAGE her to ensure his place IN STONE for the world of wrestling. That Bret Hart I tell ya. Nine feet tall and can shoot lighting bolts out of his ass.
Jingus Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Maybe, but it didn't happen that way, and speculating about anything else is worthless fantasy booking.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 They'll probably use Benoit in a surrogate Hart spot, if anything, possibly managing Harry
Darth Vader Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Maybe, but it didn't happen that way, and speculating about anything else is worthless fantasy booking. Yeah...I guess you're right. (sigh)
Jingus Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 And even if he hadn't been screwed, he still would've gone to WCW, still would've been kicked by Goldberg, still would've had the concussion that prevented him from ever getting in the ring again.
snuffbox Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 This thread is begging for RRR and a discussion of snack crackers.
Guest Sylvan Grenier Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 French Onion soup has always been my favorite; the appropriateness of that is open to interpretation.
Darth Vader Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 uh, don't you mean AMERICAN onion soup?
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 uh, don't you mean AMERICAN onion soup? The proper term is FREEDOM onion soup
Darthtiki Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 At this point we should bust out the Crepes, Escargot and finish it with a nice vintage Bordeaux Oh yes, I went there
Wrestlefreak Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Survivor Series 2007 coming from Montreal just proves that unless Vince decides to retire or dies, WWE will NEVER get over the screwjob. It settles the argument once and for all about which side can't let go, Vince or Bret. The answer is, without a shadow of a doubt, Vince. Anyone who still disagrees is gonna have a hell of a time disputing that.

Dobbs 3K Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Bret isn't the one bringing it up constantly and booking it as a match ending repeatedly.
cabbageboy Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 How exactly can Bret just let it go when Vince apparently cannot? Every time WWE uses this as a finish you know word gets back to Bret even if he didn't watch the PPV or TV show. It's almost like a cycle: Bret can't forget it because WWE keeps doing it, and they keep doing it just to mess with him.

They do it, for that reason but primarily because Vince can't find another way to get attention. Thus, explains why he always goes back to what worked before (Hogan, Austin, McMahon/Top babyface and Montreal).
Dobbs 3K Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Basically it's that the WWE still books stuff like we're in the middle of the Monday Night Wars of the late '90s, forgetting all that stuff happened almost ten years ago.

Guest Heel Heat Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 We went almost 2 weeks without another Bret and Montreal thread. Since Brets stroke he hasnt been the same and cant participate physically in matchups. Its too much of a risk, my father had one at around the same age around 15 years ago and he still has to avoid strenuous activity. Hes good for appearances but i wouldnt bet youll ever see him in the ring in any capacity again, especially in the WWE.
Shooting Star Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Is everyone forgetting that Bret did a screwjob ending and was going to work an angle on it back in WCW? Starrcade 99
Hawk 34 Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Is everyone forgetting that Bret did a screwjob ending and was going to work an angle on it back in WCW? Starrcade 99 Jesus boy, booked it.
