In Credible Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 Not sure if this has been mentioned, but is anyone else sick of ESPN's overuse of the word Walk Off? They'd probably use it for a winning fucking putt in golf!
Craig Th Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 Jackson knocking out Liddell was a Top 10 play of the week.
Cheech Tremendous Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Not sure if this has been mentioned, but is anyone else sick of ESPN's overuse of the word Walk Off? They'd probably use it for a winning fucking putt in golf! I have heard them use that term for a putt in golf. On a related note, has anyone noticed how obsessived they've gotten over "clutchness." It seems that every situation is broken down into who was and wasn't clutch. Cavs lose? Lebron wasn't clutch. Cavs win? Lebron is learning how to be clutch. Doesn't matter what sport or what time of year either. It's so annoying.
JohnnyBlaze Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Man this could go on forever, I'm tiring of the incessant special features. Did they really need to dedicate 2 minutes to having salisbury steak tell me that Eli Manning is on the "hot seat" this season.
Guest George's Box Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 In the "more ridiculous assignments for Stuart Scott" department, King Booyah is the SIDELINE REPORTER for the spelling bee. "The appeal has been denied. Stay cool, dawg."
Slayer Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 Alas, he is not. I heard clips on the Dan Patrick show today TBN keeps finding new nadirs
Guest George's Box Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 Yep, he was covering the denied appeal for that one kid who didn't get an alternate pronunciation on a word. I liked this bit: "What is the origin of the word?" "Possibly Scandinavian." Haha. Possibly Scandinavian? Our friends at Scripps Howard are not paying the same attention to detail as they were back in my spelling bee salad days. "It's possibly Scandinavian, it's possibly Sanskrit. Maybe we just made it up. Fuck you, Hadji."
Bored Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 So is it true that Sportscenter spent two full segments talking about A-Rod fucking some stripper in Toronto the other day?
hyperchord24 Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 On ESPN radio Saturday, John Clayton and Sean Salsbury were discussing NFL news items and came upon the planned UFL. It was reported that Mark Cuban was going to be part owner and you can imagine the idiotic discussion that followed. It's obvious they dropped Cuban's name just to add some meat to the story, but they had to know that he was just an interested party and not one of the organizers like it implied.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 They are televising the MLB draft.
Craig Th Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 They are televising the MLB draft. I couldn't name one person in the draft. I just know that some high school kid might be the number one pick.
Timmy8271 Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 I was watch Around the horn last week and they were talking about NHL finals. They care so much that they spelled OTTAWA, Ottowa.
Cheech Tremendous Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 At least they acknowledged the NHL finals. That's more than they usually do these days.
Mike wanna be Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Did they ditch Cowlishaw entirely? Because I haven't heard Reali utter "Cowlishaw's eliminated, so let's talk hockey" in a week or two.
Mik Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 He was on today, thank God. He's the king of Around the Horn.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 For those of you in ESPN Radio markets, I was wondering if you could share the lineups of the your local affiliates - so we can see just how much suck these stations are putting out, as well as where else this garbage is being syndicated to. In New York: 6-10 Mike & Mike 10-12 Max Kellerman (this was Colin Cowherd's slot for the longest time) 12-2 Steven A Smith 2-4 Dan Patrick 4-7 Michael Kay (During Yankee season he leaves at 6 for YES) Then it's a combo of Knicks/Rangers stuff during the season, Gamenight, and All Night with Jason Smith (Weekends is Bob Valvano) I gave up on this station roughly a year ago, with the exception of catching Kay during Yankee season, though lately I've given up sports radio altogether it seems. Mostly because of terrible hosts between 1050 and The Fan. As bad as SAS is, I think Mike and Mike is by far the worst sports talk show around. Possibly ever.
Cheech Tremendous Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 I get a national feed through my Sirius radio. 4-7 Mike and Mike 7-10 The Herd w/ Colin Cowherd 10-1 Dan Patrick 1-4 Sportsbash w/ ? (whoever replaced Kuselias... I don't listen anymore) 4-? Gamenight
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Gamenight is woeful. I think Doug Gotlieb and John Seibel are the hosts.

TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Max refers to his lister(s) as the Kellerman Army. When somebody calls in, they'll say "reporting for duty, sir!" and Max will reply, "at ease."
alfdogg Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 I've got 1340 in Muncie, IN. Morning is Mike & Mike, then Colin Cowherd when they get done, then Dan Patrick at 1, then the SportsBash after that. At night, they play Reds/Pacers games when they're on.
Guest Smues Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Max refers to his lister(s) as the Kellerman Army. When somebody calls in, they'll say "reporting for duty, sir!" and Max will reply, "at ease." Wow and I thought he sucked when he was on TV.
MillenniumMan831 Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 We get Mike & Mike in the morning, then local stuff up until Game Night. I believe the other affiliate (yeah, there's two affiliates of the same station) has Fox's First Team in the morning and then ESPN's other shows after that but the reception is too crappy to try to listen to it.
Guest Smues Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 All I know is we get Jim Rome in the afternoon after Dan Patrick, so that's enough to keep me away from the station.
JustJoe2k5 Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 I also have Sirius, I listen to Jason Smith just about every night. I just like the idea of a live sports talk show from 2:00 A.M.-6:00 A.M. on the east coast. What a job he has, sleep all day and talk sports all night.
Vern Gagne Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 Why is ESPN having the Cubs and Braves on Sunday?
kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 Shittsburgh Market.
