Brett Favre Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Chris Paul is "breakout athlete of the year", after having a good but not spectacular rookie season, ahead of Alexander Ovechkin who finished in the top 3 in the NHL in both goals and points during his rookie year and scored some of the most spectacular goals you will ever see. All righty then... Chris Paul had a great year. Should have been an all-star. 16, 8, and 5 and over 2 steals a game (led the league in total steals), for a 6'0 rookie PG isn't just a "good" year.
Guest Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 He may have had a great year, but he didn't make nearly the impact that Ovechkin did in the NHL.
Guest Princess Leena Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 And Michelle Wie sucks. Her trying to compete with men is embarassing when she can't even win a women's event. True. But, let's not jump on her for it. It's not her fault.
Guest JustPassinBy Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Apparantly retards > Kobe. Who am I to disagree. Retards arent accused of raping white women.
Hawk 34 Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Apparantly retards > Kobe. Who am I to disagree. Retards arent accused of raping white women. That's right, they only rape black women.
Guest Felonies! Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Apparantly retards > Kobe. Who am I to disagree. Retards arent accused of raping white women. Well, at least you haven't been accused of raping white women.

There were plenty of guys who had better seasons than Chris Paul did in the NBA. There were at most 4 guys who had better seasons than Alexander Ovechkin in the NHL: Jaromir Jagr, Joe Thornton, Mikka Kiprusoff, and Nicklas Lidstrom.
sfaJack Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 You're all forgetting that ESPN doesn't think hockey counts as a real sport.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Just wait for when Patrick hitches herself to the Jeff Gordon team next year. That will be a media machine right there. You'd have to assume that ESPN is praying that Gordan leaves his hot belgian model/actress wife for Danica, so they can deem them "Jeffnica". Shut up. and I posted a thread about it last year, but I forgot about it. Starting tomorrow night on ESPN: The World Series of DARTS!
Guest Princess Leena Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Ugh, it's going to be awful if Danica joins Nascar... It's already bad enough with IRL, which outside of the Indy 500, nobody gives a fuck about.
Guest Princess Leena Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 The World Series of DARTS! I'd normally bitch, but this is their deadest time of year... with only baseball to show, and not even tennis for a couple weeks. Might as well put the filler on now.

I'd normally bitch, but this is their deadest time of year... with only baseball to show, and not even tennis for a couple weeks. Might as well put the filler on now. I thought ESPN was already showng filler for the last couple of months.

Timmy8271 Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 You're all forgetting that ESPN doesn't think hockey counts as a real sport. Wait a minute, Hockey is a real sport? I know it's popular in canada and that's cool. So is Curling. But Americans could give 2 shits about it. And i like hockey.

Black Lushus Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 anybody catch ATH today? how long has Woody had that bridge?
CanadianChris Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Dan the Bastard is an idiot. Did you see him on PTI today dressing down Wilbon for liking that Buck O'Neil was at that minor league All-Star Game, when he thought the old guy who had an at-bat last week was stupid? Unreal.
CanadianGuitarist Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I've always liked Kornheiser, foremost. But I can't even watch Le Betard. He's like a high school kid appearing on TV.
Mik Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 LeBatard is my favorite fill in, though. Last year when they had the shows with Jason Whitlock and another awful host...it was hard to watch. Bad: Bob Ryan and Lebatard Really bad: Jackie McMullen and Norman Chad Hell on earth: Jason Whitlock Norman Chad even ruins my favorite guilty pleasure, poker on TV, with his inane obviously scripted jokes.
tominator89 Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I agree with whoever mentioned the Schwab from ESPN Classic. That guy is sad. He gets all excited about answering a tough question like he just hit a walkout homerun to win the World Series. I want to hit him.
A Happy Medium Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I do like when Stuart Scott cuts him off in the middle of one of his additional answers in the Leading Off segment. Schwab seems so unsatisfied. Also...his throwbacks suck. How about a t-shirt?
Robert Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Anybody know where Kornheiser is? He's been gone for like 20 days or something. I'd think that it would be for MNF or something like that. Jut have Stat Boy and Wlbon do the show. It was sad hearing Whitlock justify that hot dog eating is a "real" sport. The Schwab guy is just sad to see considering that I know guys like that. All they just do is study sports, and it's cool for a bit, but it gets annoying. It's nice that they are showing college football games that just aren't ND games. Over the past couple of days, I've gotten Colorado/Michigan, Nebraska/Oklahoma 71, and other games. Tomorrow is an hour long clipped versio of Georgia/Tennessee from 95, and Auburn/Alabama from 1983.
Guest Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 was sad hearing Whitlock justify that hot dog eating is a "real" sport. We all know damn well why he said that.
Guest Felonies! Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I wish I saw the episode of PTI where Tony fired the Bastard midway through the show and brought Stat Boy in to do the rest.

I'm sure some of it is getting ready for MNF, but also he always takes a couple weeks of vacation this time of year (voluntary since 03!) so that's probably part of it.
Guest Princess Leena Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I had been having some PTI withdrawals since I'm working nights. Glad to see I'm not missing much. Whitlock is the worst. A giant fat piece of racist shit that knows absolutely nothing.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I wish I saw the episode of PTI where Tony fired the Bastard midway through the show and brought Stat Boy in to do the rest. I never heard about this. What happened?
