Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2006 I just saw this play. Terrible, the Wizards should just take their ball and go home. Oh wait, they are.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 I'm gonna have a nervous breakdown watching the Cavs try to win their first series since 1993 . . . I think it was 1993.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but did anyone else notice how none of the other Lakers came to Kobe's defense and got in Raja's face after the lariat?
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but did anyone else notice how none of the other Lakers came to Kobe's defense and got in Raja's face after the lariat? I honestly think that was probably a good thing. Maybe it's because I'm a Knicks fan and when we used to make it to the playoffs last millenium that kind of situation would have gotten a bunch of guys suspended for coming off of the bench, or starting a Van Gundy draped on Alonzo's leg kinda situation. I think they also knew Raja just about handed them the series in a blowout victory and were so stunned at his stupidity that they were temporarily paralyzed. Or they just were thankful Raja did something they've secretly longed to do, but couldn't.

No reason to risk suspension. I'm positive that it was a Jackson mindgame to get him suspended.

iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 OK, Mr. Kobe better get the job done tonight. After not betting more than $130 on a game throughout the playoffs, I bet $150 on the Lakers with the spread, and then bet another $300 on the moneyline, so that I'll at least break even if they only win by one or two. They've got the pivotal game of the series at home with Raja Bell on the sideline, so I really don't see who I could get a much better situation than this. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 I worded my statement wrong a bit. What I was alluding to was the Laker players on the floor. It would be stpuid for any player to come off the bench. Kobe had been getting in Suns players faces all series, not going over the line and fighting, but letting guys know what they did was out of line if play was getting real physical. Nash was doing this as well. I just figured Kobe was getting guys backs and someone should've gotten his.

What I was getting at is, if someone had gotten in Bell's face the whole scene could have escalated, and Bell's action guaranteed his suspension so there was nothing else to be gained. As it turned out Kobe did end up getting T'd up again just for arguing the call after Kwame was thrown to the floor, so it seems like they did the right thing. No reason to risk suspension. I'm positive that it was a Jackson mindgame to get him suspended. If that's the case, it worked like a charm. Never mind that both Phil and Kobe are masters of mental games or anything....

Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 4, 2006 *sigh* I can remember during all those Knicks/Bulls series in the 90s secretly wanting Riley to send in one of his scrubs to purposely injure Michael Jordan... How about during the 1994 semifinals when Phil Jackson had JoJo English start a fight with Derek Harper. If the Knicks had won the NBA Championship that year, Harper would have been the Finals MVP. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Nate dropped off huge after the all star break. Surprised Marvin Williams made even 2nd team, but he started to show something after the break and could still develop nicely if he works on his game in the offseason and plays summer league for at least the next 2 years. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Actually, Nate came on strong during the last stretch of the year, after Larry Brown decided to take him off the inactive list. He was hitting 20 points left and right. Frye was better than Felton, although Felton didn't get much time this year till later on. It was sorta the same with Frye though. How about during the 1994 semifinals when Phil Jackson had JoJo English start a fight with Derek Harper. If the Knicks had won the NBA Championship that year, Harper would have been the Finals MVP. Which is why I will never respect Phil Jackson. That disgusted me. Derek Harper was killing the bulls then all of a sudden this 12th man comes off the bench and punches him in the face. And if I see Von Wafer in the game for no reason tonight, I know Nash had better look out.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Wouldn't Marion be more of a scoring threat than Nash?
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Wouldn't Marion be more of a scoring threat than Nash? Only if Nash is in the game. Marion isn't good at creating on his own. He is one of the best at filling the break and converting on second shot oppurtunities. He also is a halfway decent spot up shooter off of penetration and kick out. Nash is the head, the rest of the Suns are the body. If the head is removed, the body is dead.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Wow, a post on the Nets-Pacers series. Nets have played like shit so far but are only down two, so I'm still confident.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 This series has only had two national TV games. (and by "national", I mean ESPN and TNT, not counting NBATV) And you know if the Heat don't close it out tonight, they'll get the national treatment for their last game. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Yea, I'm watching all the games on the local channel. Mark Jackson is starting to grow on me as a commentator, as he's starting to add insight and stopped spouting idiocy. He's also making me appreciate Jason Collins more. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 I'll just say I like Indy's chances on the road if they can push it to 7.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Well it's 41-41 with the Nets playing like ass. I like our chances in the second half, especially since it seems like Anthony Johnson is trying to beat the Nets by himself. The Pacers found a way to stop Krstic by drawing fouls on him, and Kidd can't shoot for shit. If the Nets can fix one of those problems, they should win the game. I'll just say I like Indy's chances on the road if they can push it to 7. The Nets won about 71% of their home games. If Peja and Foster aren't playing, I think the Nets can win at home if they don't win tonight
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Chicago's picking right up where they left off Tuesday night. I couldn't even believe the last Bulls possession -- it seemed like the Heat forwards were just getting in rebounding position, not even bothering to contest shots, like they KNEW they weren't going to fall. And I've never seen so many in-and-outs in a five-minute stretch before.
