Comments that which don't warrant a thread

That's all pretty cool on the Punisher movie. That chick directed Green Street Hooligans, which was awesome. I'd totally see it just based on that.

In other film news, I'm so totally going to see Golden Compass now that I heard it's actually an antichristian metaphor which culminates in the murder of God (the series, not this particular one). I probably would have seen it anyway, because I love the fantasy genre, but nah, I'm seeing it in theaters now. I'll wear my Venom "Welcome to Hell" shirt to it as well.

Yeah, well look for the anti-religious content to be toned down considerably. Also, except for some cool action scenes (particularly the polar bear fight), it's pretty lackluster.

Sorry about that.

I expected as much regarding the content. Actually, I hear it's supposed to be intentionally watered down, hoping to get kids into reading the books without their parents really knowing what they're getting into. That's awesome.

Quality wise, it's like horror, I can watch anything. Still, you get a polar bear fight. I always said Zombie vs Shark was worth watching Fulci's Zombie alone.

Jewishesque Hitler - or is it Fred Flintstone?

I got a Honeymooners vibe from it. I was waiting the whole episode for "One of these days Eva..."

This is more for the UK-ers on here, but how un-funny is Russell Brand? I just watched the repeat of Have I Got News For You and I spent the entire half hour laughing at everyone else and wishing death upon Russell Brand.

What a prick.

Yeah, I don't see the appeal of Russel Brand - I just don't get him. Maybes I'm not an Emo Goth or something, maybes my black jeans aren't tight enough around my nads, to make me understand his smarmy sense of humor. He's just not funny.

Does anyone know the name of the skit in SNL where Chris Parnell is humping people (the one about how if a human were humping you instead of a dog)? Or if anyone has a video clip of it, that would be appreciated.

Have you watched the trailers? Some of them actually look quite good.

Alien vs Hunter in particular.

YTV in Canada showed the He-Man Christmas Special tonight. I missed it but will lamely watch the west coast feed of it. I can't imagine this appealing to anyone but 20 somethings with He-Man nostalgia but who knows. Kudos, YTV.

I just watched The Trial of Billy Jack. It just might be the worst movie I've ever seen. I really hated that movie, and hate is a word I do not use lightly for movies. Until this one, I only used it for North.

Asylum makes a lot of stuff that plays on the Sci-Fi channel. You can always tell it's an Asylum production because they rotate through the same 10-12 actors constantly. It's all B-Movie schlock with terrible acting and poor plots. If you enjoy B-movies you may like it though.

Calm down Mole, but a picture of Kristen Bell in the slave Leia outfit from Jedi has been released:

Is it just me, or does she make Bruce Campbell look like he has a small chin?

Was watching the new Halloween dvd. Malcolm McDowell is a pretty funny guy, apparently, he was cracking everybody up on the blooper reel. He needs more roles, period, and more comedy specifically.

Dammit, I was all excited for this, then I realized it wasn't Alien vs Fred "Hunter" Dryer.

Give me that movie and I'll give 12.50.

Question for anyone who not only watches The Boondocks cartoon, but has read the comic strip:

Are the stories in the cartoons anything at all like what goes on in the strip? I just can't imagine how some of these episodes could be sanitized enough for the Sunday funnies, know what I mean?

Just saw Margot At The Wedding (Wanted to see Before The Devil Knows You're Dead but that wasn't playing at the theater my brother had free passes for). It was OK, dull at parts. I'd have to say even though it was amusing at times, it was a half step back from Squid and The Whale
