Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 The Pond goes hardcore May 8, 2006 Things are definitely going to get hardcore when RAW emanates from the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, CA. Mick Foley finally achieved his WrestleMania moment just one month ago when he faced Edge in the most brutal Hardcore Match in WWE history. Foley and Edge endured steel chairs, barbed wire, thumb tacks and even a flaming table, but Foley is hungry for more. Edge has accepted Foley’s challenge, and the Hardcore Legend is prepared to come out on top with the victory this time. Will these two Superstars be able to survive going to hell and back one again? Can Edge make it two in a row over the Hardcore Legend? Plus, after taking one week off, Mr. McMahon will likely be back at the helm. What will The Chairman have to say after his special guest referee, Triple H, walked out of his officiating duties? Mr. McMahon warned The Game that if he didn’t obey his orders, then the next time he received a WWE Championship opportunity would be when he was an old man. Will the Chairman live up to his words? Will Triple H pay the price for leaving the main event of RAW? And who will even be calling the action on RAW? After an altercation with Jerry “The King” Lawler, he quit as the play-by-play man last week. Styles said he was fed up with several aspects of sports-entertainment and simply walked out of RAW. Who will be calling the action alongside The King? I know this thread is really early but I just can't wait. Last week was great, I really enjoyed it. Kenny would have been the WWE Champion right now if HBK didn't stop counting in that main event match....damn you HBK. But there is a lot to talk about before RAW. There are rumors that Foley might turn Heel, that would be very interesting.

Why do they have this in a WWE.com preview when they've already announced on the site that Jim Ross would be doing commentary?

Guest Diablo_Dor Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Yeah the date thing is what those of us across the pond use. But shockingly on topic I am really interested to see what Foley and Edge have in store tonight because we all know they will want to top Wrestlemania while they probably won't be allowed to use fire in the match. Also how will a Foley heel turn work? unless he plans on joining with Edge and we are headed to a summer of Faction wars as ECW (Before they break off on their own), DX and Edge & Foley try to take the WWE title from Cena. That might be kinda cool. Anyhoo, I'll be watching tomorrow morning (Its on here at 2am). Hope there's something worth while.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 I'll tune in just to see if WWE turns Mick Foley heel, I think they may wait atleast one week. It will be really tough to find a way to turn Foley heel tonight.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Yeah they will probably have Foley job to Edge tonight to cap off Raw and the turn happens within the next two weeks.

If we be so lucky. Send Cena back to Smackdown since I never catch the show anyway.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 I'm really quite looking forward to Raw, I made a point of coming back home from Uni so I could catch it this week. Hopefully they can follow up last weeks really good show.

Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 How would you turn Foley heel? Second week in a row that I don't have cable. God damnit. Use a ultimate Face like RVD and have Foley turn on him.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Foley could attack the Spirit Squad with his barbed wire baseball bat.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Cena has way too much credibility (more than anyone on Smackdown roster except Batista, Angle, and Taker, the latter two won't be touching the title) to send him to Suckdown when they've actually made him interesting again. Not necessarily popular, but an interesting champion, no doubt. Plus that would make Vince admit he made a mistake by bringing him to a live show where they couldn't pipe in chants to help his title reign or put him with boring heel challengers to keep his face run hot. And Vince rarely admits mistakes. _________ As for Raw: Gimme Maria, Spirit Squad tag title defense against Goldust and Snitsky, the first original Foley promo in years, RVD calling out Cena, a solid main event, and DX-hintage, plus one or two off the wall funny things and I'll be happy. Caliban 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Hmmm. Foley said on his blog a couple of weeks back that he was presenting Vince with an idea that he thought was great. I wonder if this rumoured heel turn is that idea?

I wonder if this rumoured heel turn is that idea? It's probably part of it. It's apparently a direction in hopes of freshening up his character leading to a match at ONSII. Caliban 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Well, looking at Foley's bio on ECW.com, it would seem the direction they're going to take would be something to do with his anti-hardcore angle in 1995...
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 That's what I was thinking. Probably along the lines of how he should just stay at home, since every time he comes back he winds up having to kill himself even more to keep the fans happy. I wonder if they'll do the Orton/Foley walkout type of deal, or maybe something more subtle like picking up a barbed wire bat but then dropping it and storming off. k thx 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Edge/Foley will have a crap ending to piss the fans off, I'm guessing. An Umaga squash, The Spirit Squad, HHH and HBK teasing DX, Mickie James, Cena being booed. I enjoy Raw.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Any guesses as to what that hints of ECW restarting will be tonignt? Will someone defend Joey Styles? Will Heyman show up? Who will be the one to take shots at ECW? And what if Foley turning Heel means he is turning "ECW" because the way Joey Styles went out last Monday, taking a big shot at the WWE crowd, Vince could be trying to make ECW the heels for the WWE/ECW show they have planned. I predict this episode of Backstage with The McMahons will have cheerleaders with ponytails giving blowjobs.

JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 "Anti-Hardcore" Mick Foley should be pretty entertaining. I doubt he could do anything to top the "Anti-Hardcore" promos he did in ECW.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 "Anti-Hardcore" Mick Foley should be pretty entertaining. I doubt he could do anything to top the "Anti-Hardcore" promos he did in ECW. Well yeah considering right now he is a part-time worker, who basically sells out to hawk some merchandise, by coming back to put over the latest WWE green worker. It will be kind of hard to replicate the authenticity of the "Anti-Hardcore" Mick of yesteryear.
