Another nice pitcher's duel developing in St. Louis between Trachsel and Mulder, as both the Mets and Cards are scoreless through five. Mets threatened in the fifth with runners at first and third with one out, but a Matsui pop up and a Trachsel fly out put a quick end to that opportunity.

I keep waiting for the Tigers to come back to reality, but the pitching still seems to be holding up. Hopefully the young guys (Bonderman, Verlander, etc) don't run into problems with arm injuries. Todd Jones has been shakey as closer, but with only one blown save, it could be worse. Magglio Ordonez seems to be getting back to from of a few years ago, which is a big help. With about a quarter of the season done, I couldn't ask for much more.

The Yankees win again against the Rangers as Wang pitched another gem and a 2 out rally in the 5th or 6th was the difference.

Blah Cox leaves Smoltz in too long and now it's 3-2 Florida in the 8th.

So Im watching St. Louis/NYM on ESPN, cause its in HD and I've got mulder on my fantasy team, and Im finally bugged enough to ask why that whole section of seats in Left Field is empty all the time?

They're still doing construction.

Anyone notice Yusemeiro Petit pitched three scoreless innings today? Average stuff my ass.

I noticed :(

The Reds have hit the wall. It was a cute 6 weeks but reality will probably sink in around mid-june. It's all Griffey's fault. They are just lucky St. Louis and Houston aren't doing that great either.

Well, the 'Stros have been outscored by the Giants 32-5 in 23 innings of this series. But Bonds did not hit a homerun. We haven't been swept at home since the Flubbies in '04. Oh well, our young guys were bound to have a couple bad starts this season. Bring on the Rangers and their rookie pitcher on Friday. The Battle of the Silver Boot!

Aramis Ramirez leaves the game with a strained lower back. Some of the swings he's been taking this season, it's not surprising his back's been tweaked. Still another injury the Cubs could obviously do without.

Braves come back in the bottom of the 9th yet again and the game is tied 3-3.

Okay...I understand that the Mets only need one run, but do they REALLY need to run the sacrifice bunt with Reyes on second with no outs and Lo Duca batting? Christ.

Mets now have the bases loaded with one out. Wright coming up as a reliever comes on.

I'm hoping for Looper, but that's probably asking too much.

What happened? The online scoreboards have had Marcus Giles at bat for 15 minutes now.

Diaz singled, stole 2nd, can't remember how he got to 3rd, or if it was 3rd he stole. Renteria got beaned to put runners at the corners 1 out. Chipper hit into what (from the sounds of it) would have been a double play but a bad throw to the dugout avoids that and Diaz scored.

DAMN LaRoche hits a double but Brian Jordan is thrown out at the plate with an apparantly great throw by Abercrombie.

Wright strikes out, Floyd grounds out.

Really frustrating loss, as the Mets waste two golden opportunities to score in the game. What's more, Pujols should not have scored from first on that double from Rolen. The gap was unnecessarily huge out in left field and prevented Beltran or Floyd from getting to the ball.

This was an important one, since the Mets can expect to lose the next two games with Lima and Gonzalez starting.

To the 11th we go, while the gameday is still in the bottom of the 9th and moving slowly pitch by pitch. It always looks funny when they do that.

4-3 Florida now in the 11th, this seems oddly familier.... (assuming of course we get out of this inning with no more damage)

and my feed just died yay

I have to say, I was really nervous with Izzy on the mound protecting a 1 run lead with the bases loaded, but he came through. Say, Albert hasn't hit a home run in three games, when's he gonna get out of this slump? :)
