Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 The Kinks - Victoria Joy Division - Transmission Echo and the Bunnymen - The Killing Moon XTC - Senses Working Overtime The Wedding Present - Dalliance The Velvet Underground - Heroin David Bowie - Queen Bitch Mission of Burma - That's When I Reach for My Revolver Love - Alone Again Or The Clash - Train in Vain I don't necessarily love all these bands (Joy Division, for instance), but I do love all these songs. This list is also more personal and less critical than, say, an all-time favorite albums list—like, both MoB and Bowie may have arguably better songs, but that's beside the point.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 I already kinda regret making this list, incidentally.
PLAGIARISM! Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I can imagine. Senses Working Overtime will always be a fringe song for me, could never *quite* put it in such high regard.
Murmuring Beast Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 Agree with you about 'Transmission', good choice. Not one of my all-time favourites though.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 May we use this thread to list our own favorite songs, or shall we keep it to discussing Incandenza's?
Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 There's a "my" there in the thread title.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 May we use this thread to list our own favorite songs, or shall we keep it to discussing Incandenza's? Feel free.

Masked Man of Mystery Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 May we use this thread to list our own favorite songs, or shall we keep it to discussing Incandenza's? Feel free. Thanks, here's something: Box of Rain by the Grateful Dead God Only Knows by the Beach Boys Handbags and Gladrags by Rod Stewart(I think that's the title) Piano Man by Billy Joel Crocodile Rock by Elton John Here's where it gets shakier(ie I have a harder time saying definately my favs) Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen Particle Man by They Might Be Giants(remind me to tell a semi funny story about Istanbul, Not Contantinoble sometime) Take It Easy by the Eagles Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World Immigrant Song by Led Zepplin That's not a precise top ten of all time, but it's what comes to mind for now. If I think of something better I'll post that later. I tried to avoid repeating artists, because I have a lot of songs by the folk I listen to that I like, and I've been on such a huge Lesh binge of late that it'd be easy for me to make one almsot all Dead. Anyhow, there it is
PLAGIARISM! Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I'll point out in this thread I think I'm the only person I know who prefers 'Dare' to 'Dalliance' (not that there's anything at all wrong with the latter) and think it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life, definitely top five, and like, what's up with that.

Guest Felonies! Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Is it the same as WCW's? Raven's "Come As You Are" was better too
FroGG_NeaL Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Those themes made me more of a Nirvana fan then actual Nirvana songs I'd heard at the time.
