My psychotic Yankee friend insists that his favorite player, Jason Giambi, is still on the upside of his career, and will play well into his 40's. Please concoct some sarcastic statement that shows he's nuts. You can start by showing him his most statistically similar player, Mo Vaughn. Almost no hitter peaks in his 30s, but Giambi could last until he's 40, given good health. Willie McCovey and Willie Stargell played into their 40s, although McCovey was awful his last three years. Guest Report post Posted May 23, 2006 Vin Scully said on yesterday's broadcast that the Dodgers could be calling up Matt Kemp from AA Jacksonville. .350/.429/.567 with 10 steals, 6 HR's and 29 RBI's. Baseball America rated him as the eighth best prospect in the organization, noting his "ceiling is considerable and he could develop into a .275 hitter with 25-30 homers annually." This team is just in shambles due to injuries and they really do nothing well. Now Chavez and Swisher are slumping and they were basically carrying this team the first five weeks of the season. What logic is there in removing Matt Murton in favor of Freddie Bynum in the fifth inning? Against a team like Florida, no less, where you should never be conceding defeat. Hopefully they can rack up the wins this week against KC and do well against Cleveland on the weekend, as the Yankees and Red Sox are the opponents the week after. And to show how little I pay attention to the local news, looks like my little town is getting the single A team of the Devil Rays next year. That's kinda cool. But it's okay, because once we get Prior and Lee back, things will be fine. And the Astros were crap last year and came back in the second half. I mean, the Indians fired Eddie Murray when the team got off to a slow offensive start and the Cubs have been MUCH worse. And yet, they remain.
