Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 If the Cubs had re-signed him, he'd be on the DL right now with something like a sprained ring finger on his non-throwing hand.

Guest Report post Posted May 27, 2006 If the Cubs had re-signed him, he'd be on the DL right now with something like a sprained ring finger on his non-throwing hand. Either that or Dusty would bench him or hit him in the 7th spot while he has a .320 average. I'm so glad LA (the real one) didn't hire him.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Is that Ryan's first blown save of the season?
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 And Brian Giles kills a rally by getting picked off first by Molina to end the game. He would've fit in perfectly with the Cubs!
KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Can NESN PLEASE find another commercial to show other than that STUPID Jimmy Fallon Pepsi one? As if Fever Pitch wasn't enough for me to hate the guy.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Manny is out with a stiff back so they threw Kevin Youkilis in LF. He's becoming the Moneyball version of Steve Lyons.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Is that Ryan's first blown save of the season? Yep. Only the second run he's given up, too.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 But Shea Hillenbrand comes through and wins the game with a walk-off HR in the 11th. 10th series win of the season...this would be a terrific time for the first sweep of the year.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Thank god for Jeff Nelson. I must say, the Tigers are playing the game the right way, but they've had a TON of breaks coming their way. It is indeed a game of inches.

At least you have the good NESN feed. I'm stuck with Dewayne Staaaaaats and Joe "I hate Curt Schilling" Magrane. And the same verizon commercial every break. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Jesus Christ, the Indians are hitting like ass tonight. They've had a baserunner in each of the first eight innings, but have one run; a solo shot by Grady Sizemore. At this rate, they'll be a non-factor before July rolls around. Guest Smues Report post Posted May 28, 2006 The Mariner's hit into a really stupid triple play and M's fans everywhere are about as happy as Cubs fans were yesterday.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Wow, what was Ryan Franklin doing in there in a tied game?
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Goddammit, Ryan Franklin strikes again. Ryan Howard hits a 2-run HR to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th, then Franklin gives up 3 runs on back-to-back HR's in the top of the 8th to put the Phillies down 9-6. Wow, what was Ryan Franklin doing in there in a tied game? Behold the "genius" of Charlie Manuel!

Cartman 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Oh they made up an "injury" for Manny tonight? Funny cause I heard Francona say he was definitely giving Manny a day off this weekend on thursday.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 How many wins do you think Schilling would need to assure a spot in the Hall of Fame? Well considering he is 100% retiring after next season he better hope 225-230ish is enough. Maybe if he tags on another WS ring this year or next it will boost him. Well considering he is 100% retiring after next season he better hope 225-230ish is enough. Maybe if he tags on another WS ring this year or next it will boost him. He's closing in on 3,000 strikeouts too, so I would think 225 wins and over 3k worth of strikeouts would be enough. Another strong post season performance might lock it up though. vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Long game in Pittsburgh...going into the 16th...mainly due to a blown call by the ump. Go 'Stros~!
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 The Astros and Pirates are heading to the 16th inning. Lidge came on for the 15th and was as wild as ever, but the Pirates lower portion of the order is so bad, they swung at everything and he struck out the side as a result. Surprisingly, one of the Pirates hitters WAS patient and drew a five-pitch walk: the pitcher.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 I think Lidge was wild mainly cuz Ausmus isn't catching. He only really works ever with Ausmus. Hopefully he can get through the top of the order with Munson behind the plate...
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 If I had to guess, I'd say it ends this inning. Those coming up have KILLED Lidge in the past.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Ah stupidity managing at its finest. Two out and have Jason Bay steal second to open up first for Craig Wilson, who's destroyed Lidge in his career. And of course, they instantly walk him. Moron.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Oh, you negative Cubs fan. I would say the 'Stros take it in the top of the 17th, but I have no idea whose up for us this inning. All I know is Jose Cruz is managing, cuz Phil Garner got thrown out in the 8th so he could see Matt Hughes knock the fuck outta old man Gracie. I say...'Stros win in the top of the 17th on a squeeze play. Is this the longest game so far this season, by the way?
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 And the Stros score with two outs and two strikes on Tavarez. That was so Cubs of the Pirates. I still say the Jason Bay steal ruined their chances to win. That move put him into scoring position, but took the bat out of the hands of a guy who's destroyed Lidge historically and left it up to whoever the hell struck out to end the inning.
