Someone explain what happened.

Larry Z let Jarrett out of the penalty box early, then Earl Hebner knocked the ladder over when christian/sting were fighting on it trying to hang the belt. Jarrett climbed the ladder and hung the belt (with a huge amount of trash flying into the ring), then Rudy Charles came out and took the belt from Jarrett and gave it to Cornette.

Man, Jarrett is a douche. HHH finally lost a Hell in a Cell match when the booking required him to, but JJ always has to win HIS match, even if they aren't going to make him champ. Fuck, him.

Really glad I passed on getting this show. Probably just a BS excuse to not job Christian out, put Jarrett over and have an easy transition for Sting's reign.

I guess they'll do some cheesy tournament now.

That sounds like a horrible ending to what sounded like a PPV that had the makings of being great.

Stupid move TNA, really stupid move.

It was a great ending, particularly since you saw a storyline that they've been building up all year come to fruition.

There is going to have to be one hell of an explanation on TNA next week to explain all the overbooking during the Main Event.

Also I think the ending of the Steiner/Joe match was ruined because Joe dropped Steiner too soon and he didn't bounce off the top rope leading into the slam like it was SUPPOSED to, so it came off looking like a weak finish to a pretty entertaining match.

Reading the results of that main event made me want to throw up in some tin foil and eat it. It was WAY overbooked with a just plain stupid ending that served to put Jarrett over in "his match" and make the other four guys and the NWA title come out looking like shit.

Thanks, Jeff. The HHH comparisons don't work, because HHH actually has/had talent. JJ is more like Vince McMahon with the power trip he's on and constantly hogging the spotlight no matter how obvious it is that he shouldn't be there.

Fuck it, I'm gonna go watch some more UFC.

How exactly did it make everyone else in the match look bad? Jarrett needed ALOT of help to win the match, it wasn't like he fought off all kinds of interference and won cleanly. It definitely wasn't the burial you want to think it was, just a heel using heel tactics to win the World title.

Why exactly are you guys shocked? Let's face it, this IS Jeff Jarrett's promotion. Hell, the notion of TNA being all about Jarrett is so firmly ingrained in the fans that I honestly don't think anyone will take TNA seriously as long as he is there. Many a time I have my dad ask me "When's Jarrett gonna get the belt back?" TNA cannot and will not ever go anywhere as long as the main event is all about Jeff Jarrett holding the title, or Jarrett constantly proclaiming he deserves the title back.

The potshots at ECW tonight were silly and quite honestly came off as sour grapes in my view (TNA could only dream of getting a 2.8). Bubba Ray's comment after that match "That's how it is DONE!" is so bogus considering last week at ONS Foley and Funk were out there killing each other with fire and barbed wire.

The best match tonight was obviously the tag title match, but in the end I have no idea what point there is. Styles in particular has seriously done about all he can do in TNA. He's held the NWA title, the X title, and the tag belts all on multiple occasions.

I actually am really into this Nash stuff though, it's really hilarious. I dare say it is the best stuff on the show.

If you want to look at it that way, why even watch professional wrestling? It all gets old eventually.

That's kind of my point. I did stop watching in late 1989/early 90, I forget exactly why but it was mostly that Hogan and Flair constantly having the titles was boring me. Nothing against them, but after a guy wins the title a bunch of times what else is there?

The point I was trying to make with Styles is that he's accomplished everything he possibly can in TNA. He probably wouldn't do it, but I'd be quite interested in seeing him do something on SD or in ECW.

He hit the stroke on Truth from the apron to the guardrail and pinned him since it was falls count anywhere. Jarrett did leave the penalty box early though.

...waiting for Impact...

call me uninformed, but how much is the average TNA PPV? I'm beting a nice chunk of change less than any WWE show. I'm seriously considering getting the replay to this.

Yeah, they've put on a number of great wrestling shows in the past - certainly have a better recent record than the competition does, at least in that regard.

Slammiversary was ultimately disappointing for me, less so because of the main event but more the Joe/Steiner match which really failed to deliver after a decent build and a KILLER final promo package. Maybe failed to deliver is too harsh, certainly unsatisfying though.

I thought the fans throwing the trash in the ring as Jarrett climbed the ladder was amazing.

I honestly was thinking people were going to start throwing chairs to knock Jarrett down when it became apparent he was going to win via screwjob/overbooking. It would've been nice if Cornette could've got words in before the show ended. TNA has got to work with pacing the show so they don't have to rush the main events.

The visual of Jarrett doing the disbelief pose while getting pelted with trash was a fun visual to say the least.

I cant say i wasnt dissapointed when i read the results for the show. I was hoping everyone was wrong when they said JJ was going to win it. It just would have made more sense for Sting to win, that way you could turn Cage heel and finish off the JJ/Sting fued in the main event scene.

And im also gutted that Joe pinned Steiner with a powerslam. Lame.

New tag champs, thats always good.

Im just looking forward to reading the Impact spoilers on tuesday to see whats going to happen.

Joe winning with a powerslam makes sense because it allows Steiner to go nuts, claiming he lost on a fluke. It sounded like a fine ending to the match to me. I thought it would go DQ but Joe winning out of nowhere works just as well to set up a pissed off beyond belief Scott Steiner.

It's a great feud, it should be extended and that's what they did.
