Guest Felonies! Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 I'm hoping the Yanks sweep the Marlins so Mik shuts the fuck up.
Mik Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 You're just mad cause the Cubs aren't going to be good for a few years.
CanadianChris Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 You know, it's gotten to the point where I'd be more surprised if Julio Franco WASN'T playing baseball on his 50th birthday than if he was.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 Brett Myers is a piece of crap. Seriously.
Guest Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 D00D MELKY CRABERA FOR WILLINGHAM Seriously though, Wang looked awful in that inning.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Hey, the Cubs scored a run off Santana. They've surpassed my expectations for them on the night. I guess the Sun-Times writer who was insisting on a near-daily basis Dusty Baker's extension was imminent is now saying his days are numbered. Let's hope his "sources" on this one are a little more reliable than those who were feeding him tidbits on the alleged extension.
jwest27 Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Albert gets his first homer since he came off the DL, going 4-4 to boot. Unfortunatley, it only makes it 10-6 Tigers, who go on to win. Man, FUCK interleague play. Getting raped by the White Sox and now the Cards get to face the best team in baseball record-wise. At least I get to watch Albert play again.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Os with a nice rebound 2-1 win over the Nats. Ray gets the save which was nice to see as well. They really need a sweep of the Nats this weekend, but Im more worried about the weather than anything. Oh, and O's vs Phillies next week..
razazteca Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Podsednik hit a Grand Slam off of Andy Pettitte with 2 outs.
vivalaultra Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Man, FUCK interleague play. You said it, man. You said it.
MikeJordan23 Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 The AL is too good. Not really. The NL is just THAT bad.
vivalaultra Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 It's the whole DH thing. AL lineups, by the nature of the DH system, have stacked lineups, whereas the NL has lineups that devote more to strategic, timely hitting.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 It's cyclical. The NL had similar dominance in the 1960s. The problem is that the Yankees went nuts and everyone had to catch up in order to compete.
strummer Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 it's pretty surreal to hear the Braves announcers practically begging the team to get a win. Chip Carey practically had an orgasm when Todd Pratt's RBI groundout put the Braves ahead in the 11th. It's like they're embarrassed or something to be broadcasting the games
Guest Smues Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Smoltz and Stockman leave with injuries, but BRAVES WIN! BRAVES WIN! BRAVES WIN!
razazteca Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Ding dong the streak is dead! 10 game losing streak is over!
Guest Smues Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Nice to get that monkey off their backs. I also liked that as soon as they won TBS started playing the song from 'Major League'.
bob_barron Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 BRAVES WIN BRAVES BRAVES WIN Watch out Mets, here we come!
treble Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Went to the Jays/Mets game tonight, it was alright. The Jays being out of it almost from the beginning kinda sucked, and I didn't get a Lastings Milledge hi-five like I wanted, but the ovation Delgado got at his first at-bat was nice. The only time I got excited was during Reed Johnson's triple and when these 2 morons ran onto the field.
naiwf Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 You know things are bad when I'm rooting for the Yankees to beat the Marlins to silence an overly excited fan. I'm glad to see that Glavine picked up # 286 and that Wright hit another big HR, but more than anything else I hope Duaner's OK.
Mik Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 What the hell are you guys talking about? You're acting like I'm making a million posts a day. And I'm pretty sure it wouldn't "silence" me at all. Unless you're not talking about me. In that case, nevermind.
Bored Posted June 24, 2006 Author Report Posted June 24, 2006 After some baffling bullpen management by Ken Macha, the A's come from behind in the 9th to beat the Assholes by the Bay 4-3 with a Nick Swisher rbi triple winning it.
Vampiro69 Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Well the Twins have now won 10 of the last 11 games. Too bad the White Sox and the Tigers keep on winning right now as well. I can't believe that a New York fan is telling someone to stop being a excited fan of his team. Usually Boston and Yankee/Met fans are the most annoying fans in baseball. Let the man celebrate that his team in doing well, since they were not predicted to do anything this year.
naiwf Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Florida's been on a tear of late winning 14 of 19 and they're still 8 games below .500. Predicting them to win the World Series as soon as next year is what got Mik blasted. The Mets have the best record in the NL and have almost wrapped up the division already, but I won't predict them to win the Series THIS year. I hope Detroit, Boston and the ChiSox keep winning because as of right now the Yanks are 6 games behind in the WC and I don't think they're gonna catch Boston. Oh how I'd love to see a postseason without Derek Jeter.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 As much as it pains me to see the Indians fall out of the fold and the idea that I may have to deal with suddenly confident Detroit Tigers fans, this postseason has the potential to feature a fresh feel to it with "new" faces like the Tigers and Mets involved.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 It would be interesting to see the wildcard come out of the Central for the first time in a long time. I just hope its the Tigers getting it, not the White Sox.
the max Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 I love XM radio. Buck/McCarver or Castiglione/Trupiano? Tough decision.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Hey, how 'bout that Astros bullpen? I hope Roger Clemens can pitch complete games.
