randomguy Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Couple of comments: 1: Was Kelly in OVW or Deep South or anything like that ? 2: I will NEVER get people who say "why did they give this away for free?" You can't show pure shit every week then expect people to like your product and buy your PPV. "Giving away" good matches is a horrible way of looking at it. All the TV matches are supposed to be bland snooze-fests? I understand not having the title change hands on TV or some momentous occasion take place. But it seems very silly to think that TV basically shouldn't show any good matches.

At least let it build for a couple of weeks before doing it, instead of just the day before announcing - "Oh, by the way, RVD and Kurt Angle are wrestling tomorrow."
Guest MrBriggs Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Was Kelly in OVW or Deep South or anything like that? OVW. She never wrestled a match on TV, though, or anything like that. I wish she would just get the fuck off my TV. It's only an hour TV show and even wasting 5 minutes on her is WAY too much. Are there actually people out there who WANT to see that? I dont see what the fuck we get out of it. If I wanted something like this I'd go on the internet download actual porn. Every time I see her on the screen it pisses me off. She's just a generic bimbo blonde who I can see just about any other channel on TV. She has absolutely NOTHING to do with professional wrestling, and to make matters worse, she can't even dance! If you're going to waste our time with this bullshit, at least give us somebody who can fucking dance WHY VINCE WHY
Star Ocean 3 Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I'm surprised that people were defending Edge earlier. What's complelling about him?
Guest MrBriggs Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I'm surprised that people were defending Edge earlier. What's complelling about him? I find Edge to be a pretty damn good heel. He plays the sarcastic asshole to a tee, and does an excellent job getting under people's skin. Also, his ringwork is solid and he's versatile enough to pull off many different match types. He's one of those guys who's been around for multiple years and somehow still feels like a fresh face.
Scroby Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I liked tonights show, it wasn't better than last week but it could have been a hell of a lot worse. It still needs to improve and at least their moving forward a bit. They still need more storylines though, but only so much you can get done in a hour.
iggymcfly Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 One silver lining about giving away RVD/Angle on free TV is that with the finish they had (RVD going over clean), this would be a good way storyline-wise to plant the seeds for an Angle heel turn. I mean, he told us how he's obsessed with being a champion and now he knows he's not good enough to beat RVD clean. If he ultimately does join up with someone like Punk before having a big title shot against RVD, this would be a pretty good explanation as to why.

If you ask me, only having 1 hour a week to work with is a huge handicap. Why do you think TNA sometimes has like three 6 man tags in a week? Even 90 minutes would make a huge difference, especially since we're getting these excellent 20 minute main events.

It is a huge handicap, but when your have a new show, you get what you can get until the network is comfortable giving you a extra 30/60 minutes. Hopefully after the summer the people who run sci-fi are comfortable enough to give the ECW show more time.

And also, hopefully after the summer WWE will be comfortable enough to give ECW their own god damn tapings. That high pitched, woman and children "We Want Cena" chant made me want to vomit.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Lita is one fugly bitch! What a mug! I cant believe so many guys use to find her attractive Lita brings the trashy slutty hotness like nobody else. Trashy sluts are not hot.
Ravenbomb Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I liked Sandman's reaction to the fat guy taking off his suit. The really weirded out look on his face and downing the beer like "oh, I need to be shit-faced NOW!"
ChrisMWaters Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Modified from the ECW page. Just wish I had the proper font...ah well.

Taker666 Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Heres some interesting news "The overweight male stripper that was caned by The Sandman on tonight’s ECW on SciFi was Christopher DeJoseph, a member of the WWE Creative Team." - Prowrestling.com
2GOLD Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Heres some interesting news "The overweight male stripper that was caned by The Sandman on tonight’s ECW on SciFi was Christopher DeJoseph, a member of the WWE Creative Team." - Prowrestling.com That sounds about right. As for the new characters, I think Knox has potential to be something, but his gimmick just isn't going to work. Unless he gets really abusive, which he probably can't because odds are she is not trained to take bumps or anything else. Just being a guy who doesn't want his girlfriend to show everyone her breasts isn't a really heel action, especially when he like gently pulls her shirt up and treats her NICE. Kelly needs to be gone. They ignored Knox's whole match so we could watch her do whatever the hell it is she does. Smile and look dense I guess.
Enigma Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Kelly's segments are really killing the show. It'd be one thing if she was actually dancing, but the way she moves is equivalent to lighty tapping a bowl of Jello.
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I don't think she realises her ass does not shake like black booty.
King Cucaracha Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Bottomline is, ECW needs it's own feuds and storylines. We are 3 weeks in and thus far besides the main event, all we are getting are random matches, which isn't the WORST thing ever, but it won't appeal to the masses for very long. The thing is, there's nowhere to build them to at the moment. Okay, so they can have a feud build across a few weeks and blow it off as a special TV main event, but then you've wasted a feud on TV, the exact thing people bemoaned about Hogan/Goldberg and don't want TNA to do with Joe/Jarrett. The only other option, besides holding out until whenever the ECW PPV is, is to build them up and have a blow-off match at whatever WWE PPV is next and that defeats the object entirely.
ryankeast Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 No, he's not. You're thinking of John Carelli (OVW's Boris Alexiev), who Heyman likes too. Mike Knox was in DSW, in Atlanta. What is the deal with this story then?
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 My thoughts on tonights show... 1. Sabu match was pretty good. Even though he got dropped on his head... 2. Knox was pretty impressive with his premier with the new ECW. Very physical match. 3. By far the best Kelly's Expose... 4. Angle promo was really good... Really intense. 5. Angle vs RVD match was pretty fuckin amazing, compared to the other matches so far. 6. Edge spear = not surprising
Dobbs 3K Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I thought the thing with Kelly was fine when she was actually at ringside doing something, ie. being a valet for Mike Knox. They got the point across about her relationship with Knox...then they had to do the whole "Kelly's Expose" segment anyway. Did anyone in that whole arena or watching at home NOT think Knox was going to run out again and stop her??? WAY too much time devoted to one (meaningless) character for a 60 minute show. They could've used that "striptease" time to let someone like the FBI or Steven Richards do an interview, etc. Also, yes, Kelly's dancing is beyond horrible. Is anyone in WWE actually paying attention?

What the hell was that supposed to be anyway...it almost looked like a white version of PN News at the outset.

humongous2002 Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 The show was great with Sabu/Roadkill and that amazing main event with RVD/Angle, the only complaints I have is the stupid Cena chants (ECW needs to do their tapings in front of an ECW crowd not in front of lonely fat teenagers or little kids) and the dumb blonde dancing like a Elaine Benes.
Hank Kingsley Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Loved the aforementioned opener and main event, and Angle's interview. The other stuff wasn't good, but still harmless. They should devote a segment every week to "ECW Flashback" or something, I think it could help some wrestlers get over with the audience. Say they showed an old BWO clip, or Balls with the flaming table, or Doring & Roadkill as a tag team. Show that they weren't always just JTTS.
EricMM Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 A few of my friends have mentioned that they really like Kelly's looks, and I will admit she looks smooth enough, but good lord. I have never seen such awkward dancing from someone who should be doing something right. She is obviously not a dancer. Let her pose and tease during matches like some GGW chick, but she obviously either cannot dance, or cannot dance to that kind of music.
