Jonathon Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I Shit You Not Okay, he was OFFERED the role, but let the discussion begin.
Hawk 34 Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I can easily visualize him in the role and I'm guessing they want to go a completely opposite direction with Joker from Jack's protrayal.
Lord of The Curry Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 If it's anybody other then Adrien Brody or Paul Bettany then it's a complete and utter failure. That is all.
razazteca Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 At least Jake Gwyanehellyahall did not win the part.
bobobrazil1984 Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I hope they go a sort of serial killer ish route. I could see it.
SuperJerk Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Heather Ledger's actually a pretty good actor.
Annabelle Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 If it's anybody other then Adrien Brody or Paul Bettany then it's a complete and utter failure. That is all. adrian brody is horrible.
Guest Fook Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I could see it, although I agree that Adrian Brody would probably be the best choice, at least visually.
Ravenbomb Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I still say Nick Stahl should be the Joker
NYU Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Adrian Brody has the look for the Joker but that's it. You need more than just the look. To see how terrible Brody could be when he's trying to act eccentric, just rent The Village.
Mole Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I still say Nick Stahl should be the Joker Watch Bully for his crazy side.
Darthtiki Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 What's next Schumacher is coming back to direct? God damn this is terrible.
Dandy Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I think Paul Bettany is a fine choice, as well as Lachey Hulme, who says he is a HUGE fan from the comics. Robin Williams is dying to do the part, as he was approached to do the 89 film. But you know who has a good face for it? Hugo Weaving.
Vyce Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I've got nothing aganst Ledger, but I don't want him in this. I could accept him as Harvey Dent, though.
Maztinho Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I've got nothing aganst Ledger, but I don't want him in this. I could accept him as Harvey Dent, though. I see him as Dent too. Robin Williams would be an intriguing choice as well. All in all it would probably be Ledger. I'll mark the hell out if they go with Mark Hamill though. MARK. THE. HELL. OUT.
Red Baron Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 If Johnny Depp wasn't a skinny mofo he'd play it well.
ChrisMWaters Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I've got nothing aganst Ledger, but I don't want him in this. I could accept him as Harvey Dent, though. I see him as Dent too. Robin Williams would be an intriguing choice as well. All in all it would probably be Ledger. I'll mark the hell out if they go with Mark Hamill though. MARK. THE. HELL. OUT. Maybe they could dub in Hamill's voice for The Joker.
Vyce Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Robin Williams is too old, fat, and over the top to play Joker. Maybe in a couple years they could throw a bunch of makeup on him and let him play the Penguin.
Guest netslob Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 i'd've gone with Crispin Glover. he looks the part and can play a psycho well (see the Willard remake).
bobobrazil1984 Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I dont know, I think after Brokeback sort of got him out there for an unconventional role, he'll throw himself into trying to make this dark and memorable typecast-shattering role. I trust Christopher Nolan quite a bit as far as casting.
Vyce Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Clive Owen is awesome, but not right for Joker.
Red Baron Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Agree with Vyce. Mark Hammill as the Joker. Dude, that would be fucking awesome.
ZGangsta Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 First of all 'very trusted source' is pretty much the same this as 'unfounded rumour.' Secondly, Heath Ledger is a great actor and can do a very wide variety of roles. But wait! Oh noes, he's relatively young and 'pretty' and was in that gay movie, so internet nerds start freaking out. Thirdly, the best casting rumour I heard was getting Michael Keaton to play Joker, that would kick ass. Actually, Crispin Glover would be my first choice, but Nolan knocked the first movie so far out of the park that I think choices he makes about the next one will be right.
razazteca Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I still say Nick Stahl should be the Joker But he is going to look like a 17 year old for the rest of his life just like Lorenz Tate.
AndrewTS Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 "For months, gossip has been circulating who would play The Joker in the next Batman Begins sequel. It's definite that the next sequel will concentrate on The Joker and they're already throwing names around such as Steve Buscemi - Robin Williams - Lachy Hulme -Alexis Denisof – and Mark Hamill." WTF? "The next Batman Begins sequel?" Did I miss the first sequel to Batman Begins? I'm sorry, just can't see Ledger in the part and I don't buy it until a press release confirms it. "Oh noes, he's relatively young and 'pretty' and was in that gay movie, so internet nerds start freaking out." Oh yeah, the fact that there are at least half a dozen choices that seem to be a better fit means nothing, obviously. It's gotta be homophobia over an actor that isn't actually gay. Nevermind that other comic-adapted movie projects with stars and a director that actually are gay didn't really get any flack. Put me on the Crispin Glover bandwagon too, BTW. It's when we're making Jimmy Olsen gay for no reason or having a gay black robot to sell toys that people begin (rightfully) bitching up a storm.
SuperJerk Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Casting really depends on what direction you want to go with the character, and I'm not sure I've got a handle on that. The worst thing they could do is base the casting on what the character was like in his 2 previous live-action incarnations. And, dare I say it, he needs to be darker than the cartoon, so Hamill's out. Same goes for any other villian they might use in future movies. I really don't have a preference, so long as the person knows they're not being hired to do a Caesar Romero/Jack Nicholson impression.
AndrewTS Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 It's a given it's going to be a very dark portrayal--it has to be. It's just how dark we don't know. I suspect a major character is going to be killed though. Hopefully Rachel. Oh, and ZGangsta--I beg to differ that Nolan knocked it out of the park with *all* of the casting choices. Katie was lousy.
Ravenbomb Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I still say Nick Stahl should be the Joker But he is going to look like a 17 year old for the rest of his life just like Lorenz Tate. bah, he can still make it work.
