kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2006 I like Madden's show, although I don't listen to it as much due to it being on the same time as Ramsey's program. He's a little quick to play the race card in certain subjects -- like the city's hatred of Bonds. His callers are bigger idiots than Dr. Laura's and they make the show. EDIT: Here's an example of his callers in action that I mentioned a while back: "Yesterday as I was driving home I heard this genius call in and suggest the following: The Steelers should trade their compensation draft picks, or whatever those things are called that they got for losing some key free agents over the last season or two, and get Matt Leinart. Then, the Steelers could have him on the sideline for a year or two while Ben Roethlisberger played until Matt was ready to take over the job."

Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2006 I listen to Penn Radio (Penn Gillette) on Free FM or via podcast. How does Free FM's podcast's work? Can you download the entire show to your computer and listen to it or can you download it to your I-pod and listen to the show through that? Whenever I go to their site and I go to the podcast page, I click it and I just hear a sample of something that happen on the show. When I didn't have to get up so early, I listend to the Doghouse on Free FM via the internet, but now since I have to get up so early for work, I listen to the Bob and Tom show or the Rayvee, woody, and Tony show in San Fransisco. Vyce 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2006 I listen to Opie & Anthony in the morning, followed by Ron & Fez. If I miss either, I'll just listen to their replay. Outside of that, it's one of the music channels on XM. I HATE sports radio. I refuse to listen to any of it.

Czech---Yeah Mike North deserves a swift kick in the junk. He was better served hawking hot dogs. And Mac Jurko and Harry on ESPN 1000 are very listenable. They have the dynamic of an entertainment/pop culture show while focusing 85-90 percent on sports and the other persentage on manly man topics. i.e. barbecue, television, movies, and women. Dan McNeil, when not frothing at the mouth with anger toward Harry Teinowicz, is a class act on the radio, a true professional. Salisbury and Rosenbloom on the other hand---I used to like Sean Salisbury, now all he does is bicker with an old bitter beat writer and usually loses the battle of played out cliches. Sports talk is generally terrible, but come on, you listen to Wacky Radio Antics, so surely you have the necessary threshold for pain to listen to sports radio. I hate sports radio. It's sort of the same thing about why I never post in the sports forum here. I like certain sports, but don't give a shit what anyone else's opinion on those sports are. I'll shoot the shit about certain teams with some friends from time to time, but that's it. I don't care to some asshole give his opinion on the radio, and I REALLY hate to hear stupid callers phoning in to agree or disagree with that opinion. But the other guy was right, O&A and R&F aren't really 'wacky radio antics'. Especially Ron & Fez.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted August 1, 2006 I wish more sports radio didn't have callers. People who call sports radio are the dregs of the earth. But, I know there's a need for lots of filler, so it won't change.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 Were it not for Jim Rome's callers, I probably wouldn't even listen to his show, since he's become largely unbearable agreed. his interviews bug me...just give me takes and callers. playing certain Jungle inside jokes ad naseum bugs me as well. The other day, he kept playing the "GIVE ME BACK MY SON" Mel Gibson soundbite over and over...I'm pretty sure he's done it recently with the shit Gibson is currently going through as well...utterly annoying. sfaJack 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 Two things make sports talk radio intolerable to me: 1) Callers with dumbass trade proposals. 2) Callers who have questions about who to draft for their fantasy teams. That is boring radio because NOBODY gives a shit about your fantasy team but you, dude.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted August 1, 2006 Were it not for Jim Rome's callers, I probably wouldn't even listen to his show, since he's become largely unbearable Rome's are different... because they don't ask questions. It's just rants about sports crap, and more so, towards each other. I hate it, but I can see why some get into it. 2) Callers who have questions about who to draft for their fantasy teams. That is boring radio because NOBODY gives a shit about your fantasy team but you, dude. Indeed, those are terrible. My least favorite are callers who obviously know nothing of sports. Those types are usually drunk, or on drugs, also. And ramble forever.
Guest Report post Posted August 1, 2006 1) Callers with dumbass trade proposals. I hate that shit, especially when someone takes the proposal and turns it into a rumor. Happens all the time.

BruiserKC 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 Jim Rome has become pathetic. Years ago he clobbered NASCAR and now he thinks Dale and Jeff are his best friends? Not to mention his constant clobbering of Iowa's football coach Kirk Ferentz as "overrated" just because the coach won't appear on his show. Rome is so played out it's not even funny. As for NFL/NBA games on the Net...go to NFL.com or NBA.com and sign up for listening to games online. There is a fee so have the credit/debit card handy. Slayer 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 Years ago he clobbered NASCAR and now he thinks Dale and Jeff are his best friends? Ah yes, that was part of my laundry list of complaints about the show. I think that NASCAR and Rome actually share some sponsors now, which might help explain why he can't wipe their cum off his chin fast enough To be fair, though, he has said or done things I liked

I think that NASCAR and Rome actually share some sponsors now, which might help explain why he can't wipe their cum off his chin fast enough To be fair, though, he has said or done things I liked I tried to listen to Rome. I gave him two weeks. A few things made me chuckle, but for the most part, I felt like I was on the outside of a gigantic inside joke. The callers were awful, going off on rants and whatnot that were so bad that I was laughing at the call rather than the alleged jokes. His interviews are incredibly bland as well. He acts like a tough guy (most notably when it comes to soccer), but any guest that is on gets ass-kissed to the end. Awful show. Dan Patrick>Jim Rome. Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2006 Down here in orlando, It's all about Real radio. The monsters in the Morning( i beileve they are on XM152) are pretty good. I've listened to them since i was 15 years old. It's kinda like John boy and billy but a little less redneck. Jim Philips is another good guy. His rants are great. He's also on xm 152 starting at 4 pm. The hideout is a good show. They use to be on in DC before moving to florida. National: I love art bell. I usually fall asleep listening to it. I'm getting hooked on Mike and mike in the morning. I also like Ben Mauler late nights on the weekend on Fox sports. Question for kkk: Since you like glenn beck, what do you think about Rusty Humphries? I remember listening to that show during the hurricane of 04 and just being pissed.
