dubq 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 In other news, does anyone else think that the attempt to get Heyman over as a Kool-Aid drinking cult leader is coming over a really, really lame? Heyman doesn't need Kool-Aid to be a cult leader, HE IS A CULT LEADER! I think you missed the point of that altogether. Nah, I think you did. Why would a cult leader be drinking his own Kool-Aid? The whole Kool-Aid thing is usually used to denote that someone else is "drinking the Kool-Aid" of some nutcase. But why would the nutcase drink his own Kool-Aid? He's already psycho. Unless Heyman somehow managed to brainwash himself. I'm a little annoyed by the Kool-Aid reference, as well. Not only is it nonsensical, but it's an extremely dated reference that goes over the head of probably a majority of the fans out there.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 An interesting comment was from JR who said Kurt Angle is "taking orders from that cult leader, the Kool-Aid drinking Paul Heyman". Sowing the seeds for that storyline perhaps? It'll set up Kool-Aid Man getting caned. That would be fuckin hilarious... Only if he bursts through a wall and goes "OH YEAH!". Otherwise it's just silly. Shockmaster shouldn't be busy these days. But Kool Aid Man doesn't trip when he busts through a wall...

RepoMan 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 I understand the heat for OJ is a fag comments, but he's running around with an underaged lover. I'd be just a pissed if he was screwing a underaged girl. Of course WWE if fine with that based on Lawler having a job, so I guess you can say he got fired for being Bi.

Guest Diablo_Dor Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Question: As everyone who claims they know what actually happens in the fed is definite the DX thang aint gonna last, am I the only one who thinks the reason this reDuX will be short lived is that they don't have anyone to TRUELY play off? Think about it, DX was originally about pissing off Bret Hart and keeping Shawn alive against the Undertaker, then it was about keeping the belt on Shawn. Version 2 was only a babyface when it had the Rock's NOD to annoy Version 3 (i Think) was to keep the belt on Hunter when the McMahon-Helmsley era was running to a close. So the thing that is needed is a strong heel faction to make DX cheerable.

A "pure wrestling" stable to oppose the sophmoric hijinks of DX would be ideal
Just John 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 I think refering to ECW wrestlers as "rebels" is incredibly stupid. Superstars is one thing, but rebels? I mean, only like 2 or 3 of them are actually rebeling against anything.
10 Pounds 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 I don't like the return of DX, the only funny thing they did was HHH doing the ear-scrathing that McMahon did during Ric Flair's return. Shawn Michaels acting as the sidekick doesn't seem right, he did absolutely nothing of note except playing second fiddle to HHH. During the McMahon parody skit, he was nothing but a one-joke beaten into the ground. ....and there is just too much ass being shown lately.
Garth 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Maria Interview Interesting read there. I think I love her even more knowing not only is she beautiful, she also has a genuine love of wrestling. What more could you ask for? Punk's a very lucky man. From the sounds of it she seems to know where Punk's going, to ECW, and is attempting to play dumb. Scroby 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2006 Does anyone else think Umaga vs Kamala could have been a lot better match than a Umaga squash, or at least booked correctly enough and promoted as a big match? I think it could have been a decent feud or at least something to help build up Umaga.

Anyways, Maria is a tremendous girl and one of the very quality pick-ups WWE has made in the last few years and I can't believe she tamed the Punker.
Garth 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2006 Indeed, who knew their relationship was so strong? Good for them though definatly. Have met Punk a couple of times in the past and he's been a totally cool guy and from the sounds of things Maria sounds like a brilliant girl, so go them. Seems awfully quick to be buying a house with someone though.

I actually new Maria back in 1998-2001 She dated an aquiantence of mine for a while. She was a bit stuck up and snooty, but I guess thats how girls act when a ton of guys kiss there ass and hit on them all the time. She used to go to same nightclubs I frequented and hung out in Greektown in this little bar called 9 Muses. Seeing her on T.V. is a little wierd.
tommytomlin 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2006 This might have been discussed already, because Kurt Angle's physical condition is one of the most fascinating things about wrestling these days, but what's with Kurt's voice? If you listen to a promo from 2000 and compare it to the backstage one he cut on the last ECW show, it's night and day. And it's not just that his voice has gotten more gravel-y over the years, he's developed this weird lisp kind of thing, like he can't control the saliva coming out of his mouth. Has anybody else noticed this, or am I insane?

AmazingRen 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2006 From PWInsider.com's news Hot News Hotline: A meeting was held before last night's Smackdown/ECW taping with Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, and Paul Heyman. The decision has been made to pretty much break away from all the old ECW characters, ideas, and style of booking. The new plan is to make the show a full fledged third C brand of the WWE. Vince McMahon was really let down by the reaction of the crowd at the ECW Arena house show, last week's 15% ratings drop, and the so far low ticket sales for the Smackdown/ECW tapings especially for the July 4th taping at the Wachovia Center. Those things were said to be huge factors in this decision. Paul Heyman now has even less control over the product while Tommy Dreamer has none. Heyman did script last night's show but alot of it was re-written by the WWE writers. Also for the first two weeks Heyman was in charge of running the shows backstage but that all changed last night as the show was ran pretty much like the usual for Raw and Smackdown. A decision has been made starting with last night's taping to only fly in the ECW wrestlers that are scripted to work on the show. Only for the house show events will the entire roster be flown in. Also the old ECW referees are expected to get the axe very soon like former ECW ring announcer Stephen D'angelous did last week. I don't know why Heyman is putting up with this.
