Comments which don't warrant a thread

Apparently, the latest observer says RVD gave his notice last week, hence his job to Bob Holly.

I wonder if that is why they changed Marcus Cor Von to hail from Detroit Michigan instead of The Animal Kingdom in that they needed a home town "hero" to book at Wrestlemania. I wonder if they'll leave RVD off the card completely...

If I was RVD, I'd job a little bit to do the "honors" however if they plan was to job me for the next four months, I think I'd find an injury, maybe a strained back or something else that doesn't show up on any medical tests that would keep me out for the remainder of my contract.

Yeah, I botched my attempt at the joke - I should have said 10:55 before making their decision. All you Central Standard Timezone folks got it though...

That doesn't make much sense, espically since RVD has lost to Holly quite a few times already. Its not like Tuesday was RVD's first lost agasint Holly.

When a guy gives notice, it's standard practice to job him out before he leaves. Where Van Dam was jobbing before to bury him, and it still is, now it's also because he gave notice. and might be leaving.

And to make it clear, Van Dam giving notice doesn't mean he's going to leave. It just means he avoids his contract rolling over and isn't stuck there for another couple of years at the same pay. It gives both sides the chance to either re-negotiate his deal or for them to formally part ways.

Anyone watch Choatic wrestling? Because the WWE has a new signing.........

Congratulations to Thomas Penmanship on his recent signing to a developmental contract with WWE!

Everyone at Chaotic Wrestling would like to congratulate Thomas Penmanship on being signed to a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. This week, Penmanship will make the trip to WWE's developmental territory in Louisville, Kentucky.

In the past three years, Penmanship has been the ideal example of a Chaotic superstar. His training and dedication at the Chaotic Training Center and Killer Kowalski's led him to the Chaotic Wrestling New England Title, Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight title and now a WWE contract. He follows in the footsteps of recent Chaotic alumni Kofi Nahaje Kingston, Mike Kruel, and Kenny Dykstra among others in pursuing his WWE dreams.

We wish Thomas the best of luck and we look forward to seeing him on WWE programming soon.

From Meltzer on LAW, he says the current plan for WM is Cena/Michaels as of a few days ago, but that they might also go with Cena/Michaels/Edge/Orton, or possibly even do that at Backlash, but he also said that the plans are changing constantly and he wouldn't be surprised if they change again even after Raw tomorrow, where Undertaker is going to announce who he is going after.

Cena/Michaels and UT/Batista has got to be the most clear and obvious way to go. I'd buy that PPV. Of course, knowing the WWE, they'd totally fuck both of those fueds up.

They lose a month pay for getting caught but since you could lose all your pay by not being on them since you'll be smaller which isn't "WWE material", I guess most of them have decided one month is better than unemployed.

I really wouldn't be shocked to hear it has been dropped altogether.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_top_W...combined_length

An interesting list showing the top WWF/E Champions by total time as champion. According to that list John Cena's three reigns combine for 554 days which puts him 6th on the list ahead of Stone Cold and just behind Bret Hart (by 100 days). Another thing I found interesting is how short of time The Rock was WWF/E Champion he had seven title reigns but all seven reigns combine to less then a year in length of time.

I guess I'm not too suprised by this info. All of Cena's reigns have been lengthy by modern standards.

And yeah, most of The Rock's reigns were around a month or two in duration. The only one that lasted a truly significant amount of time was his fifth reign in 2000, winning it at the King of the Ring in June and dropping it to Kurt Angle at October's No Mercy.

Not sure, Fly, but I've noticed Masters is getting back to his old familiar shape...

I have noticed that as well.

Other instances that have caught my eye: Taker pulling down his top at the Rumble and having six pack abs for the first time I can remember and looking more muscular than he had in a long time. Of course being part time and flying under the radar for the last 3 or 4 years could have helped with this.

I was watching the 2004 Rumble last week and then watched Raw the next day, Randy Orton looks to be about 10 - 20 pounds heavier now in his upper body and he has not been this cut since 2003.

Anybody else noticed anything similar?

There was just a learning curve in how to beat the system. Masters probably took the system seriously and he was ridiculed and hazed for it - the message was sent to him and everybody else. The "Wellness Program" is there to cover McMahon's ass, it's up tp the wrestlers to learn how to beat the system, either with masking agents or HGH or whatever the elite athletes are using to beat the testing these days.

Lance Cade is another that is slimming down and bulking up again.

Cena has been champion longer than Austin was?

I just threw up in my mouth.

By the way, if you include World Heavyweight Championship reigns, Triple H would be seventh all-time at 539 days. Considering he's had 10 title reigns, that's a pretty modest amount of time. And no way in hell would I have thought Cena has held the belt longer than him.

EDIT: My mistake. I interpreted the Wikipedia title reign list incorrectly. Triple H held the WH title for a total of 616 days, bringing his total days of holding world titles to 875 (fifth all-time). That seems more accurate.

The Wellness Policy is like any other drug test in that it's really just an IQ test. The reason you don't hear anything about it is because results are confidential, and they're actually doing a good job in keeping them that way. But if you want cosmetic evidence of who is getting off or getting back on whatever they're taking, just look at the bodies.

They lose a month pay for getting caught

Are there no laws when it comes to pro wrestling? Vince can force them to work a month without pay?

It has to be, what with Booker T being a "5 Time WCW Champion" and all.

If you read the history of the World title on wikipedia, there's an interesting (or nerdy) debate on the lineage of that title. The main points. WWE.com of course says the title started with HHH, but there are things that point out WWE's own continuity problems with this idea. It's a lot to digest and can induce headaches thinking about it.

After the Great American Bash PPV got dismantled by all the suspensions, they altered the policy in July. Now, if you fail a test, you're suspended from working live events and must work TV tapings with no pay for 30 days. They're independent contractors, so Vince can do that legally.

How is that legal? Don't their contracts state they get paid for working TV?

Has Cade bulked up that much lately?

He's getting back up to the size he was in Memphis just over a year ago when he was HUGE. Picture Triple H when he came back from his first torn quad.
