Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 2, 2006 Bears host the Bills next week. That will be fun. Da Bears 56 Bills 9 No way. Bears are so halfassing this one. They'll only score FG's, as they're prone to doing. I'm betting on a 12-3 win. Losman throws 6 INT's.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 Let's see how I did today, and I'm going by wins/losses here: Arizona at Atlanta: I doubt Atlanta will have two lousy efforts in a row, especially vs. the Cardinals. Falcons by 10. (This one was a no brainer. 1 for 1) Dallas at Tennessee: Titans are one of the worst teams in the league. Dallas should have a reasonably easy win by about 14. (Easier than I thought. 2 for 2) Indianapolis at NY Jets: Jets have been somewhat better than expected but even at home they aren't winning this. Colts by 17. (Man, this was a great game today, surprisingly so. I'll go ahead and say 3 for 3, though this wouldn't have covered the spread) Miami at Houston: Oh God, what is THIS? I'll go along with razazteca and say the Texans pick up their first win in an epic 13-10 affair. (I nailed this one, it was 17-15 Texans. 4 for 4) Minnesota at Buffalo: Bills are actually favored here, but I think the Vikings are the better team. Minnesota will get the road win by 6. (Okay the Bills surprised me today. 4 for 5) New Orleans at Carolina: Saints could really prove something by winning a tough one on the road, but I doubt they will get this one done even though they seem to have the Panthers' number sometimes. Panthers by 7. (Saints played tough today but came up short. 5 for 6) San Diego at Baltimore: One of the better games of the day. Both teams have great defense, but I think the Chargers are better offensively so I'll take them by 7. (Missed this one when the Ravens rallied late. 5 for 7) San Francisco at Kansas City: Hard to see the Chiefs losing two at home this soon. I'll take KC by 4, something like 21-17. (This was actually a big time beatdown. 6 for 8) Detroit at St. Louis: The Rams would have to be ultra jobbers to lose this one at home. STL by 9. (Well the Rams almost did lose it at home, but managed to win it. 7 for 9) Cleveland at Oakland: This has to be a sick joke, right? I'll go with the Browns here, at least in 2 of their losses they have been competitive. Cleveland by 3, something like 10-7. (It ended up being a bit higher scoring than that, result the same. 8 for 10) Jacksonville at Washington: Very interesting game. I'm not sure if the Skins are any good exactly, but I'll take them at home by 3. JAX is perhaps better playing as a pissed off underdog than they are as a favorite. (Skins won it by 6 in the OT. 9 for 11) New England at Cincinnati: I could be wrong but I think this one could get really ugly for Brady and Co. Cincy by 21, something like 31-10. (The one game I was disturbingly WAY off, it was actually the exact opposite as the Pats smacked the Bengals. 9 for 12) Seattle at Chicago: I maintain that Seattle cannot beat a solid opponent on the road (they didn't last year, though no one noticed). Bears will shut them down minus Alexander and win 21-13. (Well, Seattle still can't beat anyone good on the road, and in fact got the shit kicked out of them. 10 for 13)
KingPK 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 What the hell is up with Miami? 15 points against the TEXANS? Next Sunday can't come soon enough. If Dillon and Maroney can stay healthy at the same time, look the fuck out NFL.
Annabelle 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 The Vikings really need to get some offense, the defense is good enough to win games, but the offense can't move the ball. I can't wait till Tarvaris Jackson is the starter, he's a lot like Vick and would add a lot to the offense. hey hotstuff, remember what you said about the bears last week? don't look impressive, eh? people, the bears could go about 9-0 to start the year. this team is for real. where's the other guy who told me that the falcons were more of contenders than the bears? the bears are the favorites in the nfc, but what about in the nfl? nobody has looked more impressive thus far. conversly, no one has looked worse than my poor raiders. possibly thw worst team in nfl history. win some, lose some. KingPK 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 I still hold some, some reservations about Grossman because of his injury history, but that defense is a BEAST and they should slap around the other teams in their division with little problem. I think the Raiders clinched an 0-16 season today. When you let the Browns come back from a big lead and beat you, you won't beat anybody.
Annabelle 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 grossman got hurt on two fluke plays. anyone can get hurt like he got hurt. its nothing one should hold against them. grossman was throwing some perfect passes today. their vertical game is downright dangerous. the precision is that of a skilled veteran quarterback. granted he won't play like this every night, but to know he has the ability to do so is great to see. I was on the phone with my dad when he dropped that fantastic touchdown right into Berrian's arms. He stopped mid-sentence to say "Wow. Grossman is really good." We agreed we'd easily take him over 2/3 of the other QBs in the league. Orton was a great game manager last year, but when Grossman's on, he really transforms them into something else. Also, I don't think the Raiders are going 0-16. No one goes 0-16. They'll win some ugly turnover-filled game 13-10, possibly even against some playoff contender's second string in the closing weeks of the year.

Next week (49ers) and week 13 (Texans) are probably the most logical dates for Oakland to secure that first (and likely, only) victory but I'm sensing they'll play inspired football and catch a lucky break and beat rival Denver in week 10. Looking at Tennessee, aside from their games with Houston, none of them scream WIN except, maybe New England (resting its players) in week 17. TB has a rough schedule and aside from Cleveland in week 16, none of them really looks like a sure-thing for the Bucs.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 2, 2006 Oakland has enough talent offensively where they'll win a couple games. Tennessee might be the team. Other than the Miami game, their defense is getting killed.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 2, 2006 The toughest part of Chicago's schedule is that three-week road trip against the Pats, Giants, and Jets. Good thing they're stringing up the wins right now. They'll only drop one of those, I think. The Giants don't scare me with soft spots on their line play, the Pats are inconsistent, and I'll be surprised if Pennington lasts that far into the season injury-free. Looking at the rest of their schedule, I've got a weird feeling that the Rams are going to catch 'em with their pants down, and the Chicago backups will lose one to Detroit. I'm predicting 13-3, 12-4 at the worst.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 Looking at the remaining schedule for the Pats, the only two games that even remotely worry me are home games vs the Bears and Colts. Good times.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 2, 2006 I think it's fair. It was dirty as shit, but players beat the fuck out of each other at the bottom of every pile. Kicking, gouging, etc. Five games is over halfway through the season at this point, and you can bet Fisher and the Titans organization is going to shit on him, too. That's fair for a cheapshot. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 2, 2006 5 games is fair. That stuff can never be stopped in football. Haynesworth had a braindead moment and did that in wide open space. And I dont believe there was intent to injure.

If someone did that in the stands they'd be in jail for assault.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 2, 2006 If you watch the video it didn't look like a Texas Chainsaw Massacre-style stomping on the head, it was more like some light pawing/kicking with his foot.
