ChrisMWaters Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 OK, this just is some random thinking off the top of my head... Let's say that the new ECW was going by old ECW stuff, and was allowed to use real songs for the entrances? What would be some real songs out today for some of the "new breed" ECW wrestlers. For example: Kevin Thorn: something by Rob Zombie I think would fit Test: Something from Motley Crue, since he was their bodyguard/bouncer Kelly Kelly: "Buttons", as she used to use in her Exposes. CM Punk: Either his current theme or (and possibly the more popular option) go back to one of his ROH themes. That's all I got for now.
snuffbox Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Shannon Moore should get something really lame&queer like limp bizkits cover of Behind Blue Eyes.
Art Sandusky Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Don't change Thorn's music. That's my only suggestion regarding theme songs. CM Punk's is pretty cool when they let it get to the chorus too.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 The Sandman: Um...hmmm...seems like there would be one perfect song...I just can't remember it...
Guest kresh Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I remember someone at DVDR suggesting the: Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream Make him the cutest that I've ever seen, song for the sandman.it would rule.
benn Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Watching Sandman crush beer cans on his head while that song plays in the background would be a trip.
Black Lushus Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 doesn't CM Punk use Randy Orton's one time theme from Killswitch Engage? good tune...
cd213 Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 The Sandman: Um...hmmm...seems like there would be one perfect song...I just can't remember it... Vince has proven that you don't need Enter Sandman to get him over. I never thought that it would work, but generic music has gotten Sandman over just as much. When the crappy music hits the fans know who it is and go crazy. Never thought it would happen, but it has.
Guest Connzilla Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 What about Land Of a Thousand Dances for Mike Knox?
razazteca Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Sandman - Chumbawamba "Tub thumping" lyrics sample "....he takes a whiskey drink, a volka drink, a cider drink, a chair shot, a table spot, cane spot, pissing the match away..."
Toxxic Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Put Matt Hardy there and have him come out to 'Twist of Fate' by Pennywise. Punk should always come out to 'La Miseria Catara', there can be no arguments against that. Also, Kevin Thorn should come out to 'Vampira' by Devin Townsend.
Art Sandusky Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I can argue using that as Punk's theme. WWE TV is bad enough, I don't need a minute of staring at an entranceway while waiting for him to come out also.

I also thought the notion that he needed a certain song to get over was a little bit silly.

I can think of several things on WWE TV that would be less interesting than a minute of waiting for Punk.
BorneAgain Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 If they could get the rights, I would prefer to see Sandman to come out to the Richard Cheese version of "Enter Sandman" just to see the crowd reaction, especially if there in a place like Philly.
Hawk 34 Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I agree that Punk doesn't need Miseria Cantare, it was a fantastic intro in ROH because it gave a epic feeling and Punk's matches in ROH were built in that regard. Punk was THE man in ROH, when he used it first, it was just to show his ego but at the end during his super-duper mega babyface period, it was designed to make Punk look more important. It's not a good TV intro and they'd never let him have a 90 second pause before coming out. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing it back for a huge event like D2D or WM23, if he's given an important match and use that intro to make him look even better but it's not needed right now as his current theme is good and the crowd has already linked it with Punk. While I'm glad he has kept most of his original character traits intact, the music isn't needed as much.
Guest Teckneek Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I think they should use I don't like the drugs but the drugs like me by merilyn manson for kevin thorne.

ChrisMWaters Posted October 14, 2006 Author Report Posted October 14, 2006 Apparently I didn't make myself clear. I mean, we know what types of songs the ECW Originals would have coming out to. I just meant for the guys that weren't in the original ECW (Thorn, Punk, Kelly, Knox, Striker and the like)
Toxxic Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 ELASTICA as the opening of ECW? Oh come on now. That's just laughable.
UZI Suicide Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Mike Knox: "I Convinced You To Beat Your Wife On A Daily Basis" by Anal Cunt. CM Punk: "You Rollerblading Faggot" by Anal Cunt. Kelly Kelly: "Women: Nature's Punching Bag" by Anal Cunt. Kevin Thorne: "You Fucking Freak" by Anal Cunt. Matt Striker: "I Noticed That You're Gay" by Anal Cunt. Test: "Steroids Guy" by Anal Cunt. Hardcore Holly: "You're A Fucking Cunt" by Anal Cunt.
geniusMoment Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 ELASTICA as the opening of ECW? Oh come on now. That's just laughable. That's what it used to be a long time ago.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Wow, that's weird. I did not know that. (The Elastica thing).
Toxxic Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 ELASTICA as the opening of ECW? Oh come on now. That's just laughable. That's what it used to be a long time ago. Seriously? ...wow. I never knew sub-standard Britpop was EXTREME~!
Dobbs 3K Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Hey, it's a catchy song at least. Better than hearing "Let the bodies hit the floor" ad nauseum over the last several years.
Toxxic Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Catchy in an annoying way. I mean Elastica are far from great anyway, but 'Connection' just seems a truly bizarre track to have involved with a wrestling show in any way. It'd be like having *thinks* Kasabian or something, for a modern comparison - naff British indie band with no connection with it at all.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 ELASTICA as the opening of ECW? Oh come on now. That's just laughable. That's what it used to be a long time ago. When? The only time I ever heard Connection in ECW was as part of a music video. Are you sure you're not confusing a music video with the actual opening?
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Connection by Elastica was used (very briefly, they used another Elastica song more often) for the "live event" commercials for upcoming shows back in 95-97ish. It was basically a page that read: "THIS SATURDAY AT THE ARENA!" "TAZ Vs. PAUL VARLENS" (example) then a T-Shirt ad, then another venue, etc. It's an awful song that was used for Pepsi and other crap, I believe.
Toxxic Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Whoah, more than one Elastica song was used? What the hell, did Heyman have a hard-on for Justine Frischmann or something? I mean, of all the 90s British music they could have used if they decided they wanted to use British music, they chose ELASTICA? TWICE? ...as you can tell, I'm still in shock over this.
Art Sandusky Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 We like that tune over here, sue us.
