HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 New England Patriots Home Buffalo, Miami, N.Y. Jets, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, San Diego Away Buffalo, Miami, N.Y. Jets, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Dallas, N.Y. Giants, Indianapolis A really tough schedule for the Patriots. Home games against what will be a better Jets team, a much improved (IMO) Steelers team, Philly prob. with McNabb back, and LT's Chargers. Away games against Baltimore, Cincinnati, Indy, and Dallas won't be easy matchups either. The AFC East matchups with an improving Buffalo/Miami will also be the usual tough fights. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 Denver Broncos Home Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Green Bay, Minnesota, Pittsburgh Away Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Houston, Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo You might see a little bit less of the Broncos on TV next year. On the plus side, that has the potential to be a hella soft schedule.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 The Broncos will be on TV for both San Diego games, at least 1 against KC, as well as Chicago, Indy, Pitt and possibly Green Bay. Again, that's far too many times for a team most people don't care about now that Elway's long since retired.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 oh no, we'll be under "Cutler watch" next season. Well joking aside, you do bring up one big question: Which quarterback will the media turn their guns on next season, saying their time is up? Right now, Jon Kitna is the obvious. But I say no matter what happens, next year Steve McNair will get the "is it time for a young man to take over?" talk.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 I think the Redskins are in pretty good shape for 2007. It looks like they have found their franchise QB, and while I don't expect Campbell to live up to that billing until 2008, I think it is positive that unlike other young QBs, he seemed to get better with every start and every time the playbook was opened up more, he thrived more, which is usually the opposite for guys in his shoes. Also, while the NFC East sent three teams to the playoffs, only the Eagles ended the season playing their best football, while the Giants & Cowboys limp into one of the weakest playoff tournaments ever in the NFC. I'd also say the G-men and Big D have a lot more uncertainty as far as players and personnel go, going into 2007 then either the Eagles or Redskins. The Redskins need a stud DE, and a cornerback. I wouldn't mind some guys on the inside of the D-line for depth either. On offense, they need to re-sign Dockery, because the O-line was playing GREAT down the stretch, and it would be a shame to break up the chemistry there. Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 2, 2007 I like Kitna...I don't know why, but I like him. Because he's "competitive"? That was the other thing I didn't get in that Bears-Lions game. "Jon Kitna is a very competitive player." "You have to admire how competitive Jon Kitna is." ""What really sets Jon Kitna apart is how competitive he is. And Rod Marinelli likes that." Yeah, Jon Kitna is a competitive player, unlike most football players at the highest level of competition. Rex Grossman doesn't even get paid by the Bears. They just let him show up to games because he doesn't want to rake leaves on Sunday afternoons.

Is there any way Millen can be fired, or will he serve the length of his contract unless he quits? Well, he has already said he'll never quit. So I guess the Lions are in for four more years of Millen Time. Looks like Calvin Johnson is becoming a Lion!

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2007 Right, and the two defensive coordinators who worked under him, Marvin Lewis, and Mike Nolan, are doing great as head coaches elsewhere. Who's Baltimore's defensive coordinator now? Rex Ryan and he's gonna get gobbled up by a team as head coach soon 3 Head Coaches that were former Def Co. under Billick in a 6 year span would just be crazy. I expect it to happen given the openings already available too, esepcially if Saban leaves the NFL and Coughlin and Art Shell get the axe, since there aren't that many guys you can stick on the "Ready to be a head coach in the NFL" list and Rex Ryan would have to be on it. Marvin Lewis completely turned around the Bengals franchise despite their off-field problems and Nolan has the 49ers primed for a playoff run next year which has pretty much ended the skid the 49ers were on over the last several years. and I'll say this about Billick..since he started calling the offensive plays over the last 10 games, the offense has been a lot better. I have always said the offense could have been great his whole run but he's never had a decent QB to work with. Which leads me to an interesting question..does Kyle Boller stick around Baltimore when his contract is up or not? I think his contract is up at the end of next season..and McNair should still likely be around at least 1 more year past that. I would think hed leave to be a starter elsewhere, so the Ravens might want to think about drafting a QB to learn under McNair for a year or two. They could pick someone up in the late round too..2 years learning under McNair and Billick would probably be great for em.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2007 Predictions from the so called experts. Jason Whitlock, ESPN Page 2: Baltimore vs. Washington I was getting to say WTF..and then I figured that must have been pre-season picks.. I remember ESPN had the Ravens making the playoffs in their preaseason picks and I thought they were crazy..but my feeling was based on the mediocre look of the team in the preseason. I was anticipating 8-8/9-7 this year and then making the SB run next year, but never did I think they'd pull off 13-3. A Redskins/Ravens or to some extent a Ravens/Eagles Super Bowl would be the equivalent of a Civil War around here, as there are way more Redskins fans than Ravens fans and a lot of Eagles fans in the area. Arizona was a popular pick to win the NFC West in the preseason. Fitzgerald, Boldin, Edgerin James and Kurt Warner..it'd be sort of a 1999 Rams for the New Millenium but it didnt pan out that way. Tell me about it. That's why I drafted Warner in the first TSM FF league (ugh!). I liked the potential of the offense but Arizona was still Detroit West to me. I guess a potentially great offense is why I picked the Redskins. Plus they seemed to be a better team all-around with guys like Samuels and Jansen on the O-line and Springs and Taylor on D. Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 3, 2007 Isn't this the third year of "Note to NFL: It's time to take the Arizona Cardinals seriously. This is a team that will surely earn a wild card, if not the NFC West." They're always this sexy pick to finally turn it around, but they never do. I guess not losing 15 straight like the Panthers is an achievement, but all Denny really accomplished was a kickass soundbite.
