Just John 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 How is Memphis not the worst team in the league? And what the hell has Phoenix done to warrant being ranked ahead of Houston, Orlando, and the Lakers?
MrRant 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 I think Seattle is a bit better than 20 as they have been very competitive/close in all the games they lost. Like a 18/19 or so.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 The hawks god bless them. They lose tonight to the wizards by 1. Besides the loss in Orlando and Philly, every loss has come down to one shot. They desperately need Josh Childress back right now. Marvin Williams will be a plus, but most certainly Josh.
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 Can Ben Wallace just shut up already about his stupid headband? You were wrong. Now be quiet and try to earn some of that $60 million contract you just received.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 The headband rule is stupid. If he was serious about it though, and really wanted to wear it, he should. Paxson wouldn't be too happy with Ben sitting out each game because of this while he's getting paid 15 million or so a year.

alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 Pacers get the win in Portland in a very tense game, the Blazers fought all the way to the bitter end. Randolph was amazing, Foster was on him like glue all night, but he kept putting in tough shot after tough shot. The percentage wasn't as good as it seemed watching the game, but yet another 25-10 outing (30 & 11 to be exact. Guy's really an All-Star level talent, too bad he's overlooked due to the offcourt stuff. Jarrett Jack was most impressive, as well. Jermaine puts up 20/8/6/5 blocks, and Jasikevicius and Granger combine for 38 off the bench. Golden State tommorrow, I'm interested to see if this team is for real. Right now, they're the same as the Hawks, I'll believe them in the playoffs when I see it. Hopefully Jermaine's able to go, he sprained his ankle in the third quarter and was very slow getting up, but came back to finish the game.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 I always thought Jarrett Jack would be a good point guard in the league. I am flat-out impressed by this run the Magic are on. I just hope they can maintain it. And how smart does Joe Dumars look for letting Ben go rather than hamstringing the franchise? The problem is now that there are rumors swirling around that Chauncey Billups might not be brought back at the end of his contract.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 And how smart does Joe Dumars look for letting Ben go rather than hamstringing the franchise? Those events were out of Dumars' hands anyway. Dumars could not offer more than $48 million for four years, and while he took only $3 million more per to leave the Pistons, he was already fed up with Flip and wanted to leave anyway. It'd be safe to say that if the Bulls offered the same amount as the Pistons, Ben would've signed with Chicago. There's no reason that Dumars should be credited (or for that matter, given the blame) for how Ben soured on playing for the Pistons.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 Actually he could have matched the Bulls offer, but to pay him that much would have screwed things up royally. Maybe Ben would have left anyway, maybe not. I agree about how Ben soured on playing for Flip, but Ben has been an offensive liability since he got started, and he has never done anything to change that. Its not that hard to develop a 15- foot jumper to keep a defense honest at the very least, not to even mention his mental block when it comes to free throw shooting. But who knows why he did not do those things? He was offered a cash grab and he took it. That's the bottom line. I have loved Ben's work ethic and his dedication to playing defense and rebounding, but Dumars actually could have done more to keep him but chose to let him go. And considering the warfare going on in Chicago, in retrospect Dumars did the right thing.

And the Bulls were idiots to not get all that out on the table up front. It's a fucking headband and an Ipod in the lockeroom! Why is this simple, trivial shit an issue that comes up during the first month of the regular season, when they had an entire off-season and pre-season to compromise on it! alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 As far as the rest of the game, Jamaal Tinsley was excellent, scoring a season-high 23, narrowly missing a triple-double with 8 boards and 8 assists, as well as 4 steals, and making some big shots down the stretch. Harrington had 28 points, including SIX 3-pointers (!). Only negatives for the Pacers were, as mentioned before, a lot of missed layups, which (along with horrendous officiating in the 4th quarter) really kept a two-point win from being a double-digit win, and they didn't get much off the bench, though Daniels made a couple big plays. Jason Richardson left early in the game due to soreness in his knee, but I was so into that game I honestly had no clue he was gone until I just read the recap. I can't recall the last time I was that into a game in November. As for the Warriors, textbook Don Nelson team...lots of running, lots of scoring, but that defense...*shudder* Tinsley dribbled the length of the court, waltzed right into the lane and got three straight layups in the last minute of the half. We had no trouble whatsoever getting inside on them, it was just a matter of converting. I really feel like the Warriors should have blown us right of the floor, being on the second game of a back-to-back. But Monta Ellis...man. Kid can play.
