Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 I still say Gangrel's theme is one of the Best Ever...Am I alone? I think it may be the best ever.......I used to love the Brood with Edge and Christian coming out of the fire with Gangrel. That was good but nothing beats Miseria Cantare. That was the best theme and overall entrance in years. Christian's opera golden showers is probably 3rd.

Just John 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 Overall, this was an up and down show. Seemed like the major feuds were developed and some new ones were started. Unfortunately, there were some really stupid things going on as well. The opening promo was pretty bad, with Cena doing a TERRIBLE Rock impersonation with the random gibberish speaking. Masters getting his first and probably only major title shot was random, but I guess it couldn't be bad for a one show thing. We'll find out later... I like Kenny severing all ties with the Spirit Squad. Some will complain about being R-RKO's bitch, but that's really how it should be for now. Edge and Orton are way above Kenny and are supposed to be arrogant pricks. Why would they accept Kenny with open arms? The Highlanders/Rednecks match would've been better if the crowd gave a damn. Not that they should care about either of these teams after the way they've been booked for the last few months, though. It was sad when the Highlanders couldn't even get a "Hot Rod" chant started. I like Victoria the "anti-diva." I don't think they should've done the Mickie beatdown here. Should've just let Maria get killed, and make it look like Mickie's the last line of defense for sexy divas. Oh well. What happened to getting Cryme Tyme over as wrestlers? They certainly weren't bad in the ring, and Raw needs a face tag team. Oh well, why do that when you can steal another wrestler from SD and reduce CT to lame comedy skits. Seriously, the "old lady speaking street slang" bit is so tired and played out that only the WWE writing staff would be unoriginal enough to use it. At least it led to Shelton developing his character as the Jesse Jackson of WWE. It's probably a good thing he made some racist comments to Super Crazy, because telling the fans to boo a minority for not approving of blatant stereotypes is ridiculous. Not like WWE wouldn't do it, but at least Shelton's hypocrisy adds more depth to his character and makes him a legit heel. It was also nice to see Shelton get a win, and a WGTT re-union tease. Maybe than can run with "Politically Correct" Charlie Haas to get a feud with CT going. Shelton would be a much better black partner than the one Haas was teaming with for months. Alright, back to the random Cena/Masters stuff... Could it be good? And, the answer is... No. Cena makes Masters look like a bitch by making him tap to the second goofy facial-expression submission this year. Remember he debuted the STFU against Masters in January in 3-way with him and Angle (My how times change). Maybe he'll start using this full time and call it the "Master-Beater." I am interested in Cena/Umaga, but not Cena/Armando or the restraining order. Carlito's match and skit with Vis were both terrible. Carlito was throwing some horrible punches and botched the Lionsault to boot. On a side note, I think Jerry Lawler and Matt Hardy should hold a seminar for WWE wrestlers on how to throw a good worked punch. The HLA/Eugene shit was beyond lame. Eugene's heel turn is textbook in terms of its build, but could WWE have picked a worse or more heatless character to try it on? HHH standing up for Ric Flair was amusing. One year ago HHH was the one trying to cripple him with a sledge hammer, if I remember correctly. At least there was no lame DX comedy. Maybe Road Dogg and Billy Gunn are making a difference! The ME was pretty fun, I thought. Good fast action, and a fitting finish. Edge owns Matt Hardy. Could've done without the additional Kenny burial, but whatever. billdynamite 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 you may (or may not) remember my comment on page one, i said "why am i planning on tuning in?" Good news, as soon as Cena's opening segment made me cringe, i turned it off. Turned it OFF! I am free of WWE. I am not watching Raw next week either. I'm not interested in Cena/Umaga. I'm not interested in DX (40 year old men acting like kids doesn't impress me). I'm not interested in Smackdown... I'm not interested in ECW (not after D2D anyway). WWE product reminds me of a time when i was walking down the street in a particularly disgusting area of Essex in England called Hilldene in Harold Hill. My colleague pointed out to me, in the middle of the path a plastic bag, split, spilling shit all over the place. We looked at it, at first to see what it was about, and laughed to ourselves that someone would just leave a bag of shit on the path, and wondered what would drive someone to shit in a plastic bag and leave it on a busy street. We then moved on, never to gaze at the bag again.

Aero 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 Why isn't there more talk about the best part of RAW...WGTT! I didn't see Raw, but this is one thing I'm actually thrilled about. I'm at the point where I realize Shelton isn't going to get anything much bigger than jobbing to Carlito in IC contender matches, so they might as well team him up with Haas, who's been wasted with Vis, to add a decent team to the tag division.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 you know...we talk about adding "depth" to the tag division, but aside from some hot matches with MNM against whoever in late 2005/early 2006, the tag division hasn't been built up for shit on either brand. I hate when they put the tag titles on Main Eventers, because you know every legit tag team is going to get crushed by them, thus ruining the tag division further. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 I missed Raw and downloaded it. BTW, Smackdown/Raw/Impact are seemingly each 10x better without commercials. I hardly ever watch live now and recommend waiting a few hours. Thoughts: Opening 15-minute promo: BAD: God, Cena and Melina are AWFUL on the microphone, with Cena being terribly corny/stale/boring and Melina being ultra-generic and fake. Boring segment. Coach is a horrible authority figure. Masters gets to be squashed again. GOOD: I like Victoria as the "head bitch" heel of the Women's Division. GOOD: Kenny as X-Pac to Edge & Orton's Outsiders could work! BAD: Cryme Tyme nursing home segment was pretty lame. Shelton's angle afterwards made sense. BAD: 2 minutes for Crazy/Shelton? Horrible. HOLY SHIT WORLD'S GREATEST TAG TEAM TOGETHER AGAIN, FINALLY. DECENT: Masterlock Challenge. It was clear that Cena broke it but JR claims "Masters releases his Masterlock...". Masters jobs to a full nelson. Wow. Subsequent brawl with Umaga and Cena was nice. HAHA: Viscera calls Torrie "Cory...(corrects himself) Torrie...". Then demands "SOMEONE GIVE ME A TOWEL, MAN!" and instantly a hand gives him a towel. Damn. EH: Carlito/Viscera match. Torrie looked gorgeous. Awesome (the end of it): Two skanky plants doing HLA with Val Venis, who is shockingly still alive. Eugene wants a kiss! HEEL EUGENE IS AWESOME. It's the fans fault. When Eugene was "cool" and made people laugh, Cristy Hemme was making out with him, everyone loved him, etc. Now he's a "tired" act, so he's flipping out. "WHY DONT YOU TREAT ME SPECIAL ANYMORE?!?!?! I AM SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Grabbing girls forcefully and snapping!! 8-man wasn't gonna be 2004 or 2000 Raw multi-tag hot, but it was decent. WRESTLEMANIA 23 MATCH Rated RKO Vs. D-X SAVE IT for then!

Guest Natchou Report post Posted December 5, 2006 Yeah, I think they did mention it vaguely last week when DX came down the ramp to be Flair's partner at the beginning of the show. J.R metionned that Flair was a big influence in Triple H's career and that they *did* have their differences in the past (probably meaning what happened a year ago).
