Mik Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 With Damaramu and Anglesault long gone, who is the torch bearer for homerness (yeah - not a word. whatever). I'm sure some people will say me but at least I talk about other sports and other things besides the Marlins. Some of my nominees: Marvinisalunatic for Baltimore sports NYankees (who may be Anglesault?) and my runaway winner... vivalautra. Actually makes me hates the Astros more and more every time he posts. Let's hear it. And Al, if you deem this inappropriate, I would understand that. No harm meant - just some good ribbing.
BUTT Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Dude, Dam(o)nYankees was Anglesault. NYankees is not.
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 NYankees is TheDon. I don't know who that was either. Biggest homer currently: Spicy McHaggis.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Let's hear it. And Al, if you deem this inappropriate, I would understand that. No harm meant - just some good ribbing. Eh, it's a slow time of year. Let's run with it. I just don't want to hear it when you win. :-)
geniusMoment Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Viva is the easy answer. The astros could sign Greg Vaughn to a 10 year 200 million dollar contract and he would come up with a reason why it was a good deal.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I should have been nominated for Maryland sports in general but..yeah. and I should at least get some credit for trying to talk about the Orioles since pretty much no one else is..but I'll always be a bigger Os fan no matter what, although the last 10 years have been horrible. The Ravens have made me a firm believer in the whole Defense wins championships philosiphy and Id rather watch a defensive struggle than a shootout..
bob_barron Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Cena's Writer when it comes to the Knicks. Mik when it comes to the Fish
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Viva isn't that bad. He's just eternally hopeful. At least he doesn't stir up constant arguments with everyone because his team is the best.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 What I find impressive is that Viva can spin a paragraph on command. I often don't have that much to say.
Vampiro69 Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Viva isn't eternally hopeful, he is simply naive.
Slayer Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Vivaultra wins in a landslide... everytime I casually glance at the baseball thread du jour, he's posting about something, no matter how insignificant Not since the first coming of Choken One have I seen someone post so much about nothing
razazteca Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 So how many people are on the LA Clipper bandwagon other than Leena?
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 There's some guy with a Clipper flag in his sig.
vivalaultra Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 If I don't win this shit, it'll be the biggest robbery since DJ lost out the AL MVP to Justin Mourneau. I'm neither naive or eternally hopeful, but, I am an English major and an Astros fan, so I have a tendency to be verbose. I liken myself to a young Polonius, who said that "brevity is the soul of wit" and then proceeded to chew up scenery for several more pages. I could put the picture of me and my brother giving Brandon Backe and Jason Lane bunny-ears in my signature, but that would be overkill. And if I'm a homer, at least I'm a homer for a competitive team. It's not like I'm a homer for the Devil Rays or the Arizona Cardinals or something... And what's so bad about Greg Vaughn? Dude was 4th in the MVP voting with a .245 batting average. Career .990 fielding percentage doesn't look too shabby. I'd stick him in CF and bat him 6th.
The Man in Blak Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Viva, but Marvin is gaining fast with every post in the weekly NFL threads.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 "Woooo! Woody Williams! WE GOT WOODY WILLIAMS! WATCH OUT! YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAH WOODY WILLIAMS!" Seriously, Woody Williams? What is he, 40? I would say Marvin, but he's a homer for high-definition television more than the Orioles.
vivalaultra Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Hmmm...Marvin's beating me in the football threads, eh? Well, I just can't bring myself to be a Texans homer. The Texans just...flat out blow. I mean, the 'Stros don't look great all the time, but...the Texans...man, they just blow. I could go in there and root for my actual favorite team, the Saints, but meh... Maybe me and Marvin can settle it in some like...weird cyber duel inside an electrfied steel cage with like...cyborgs carrying tazers patrolling the ring or something. And I think Woody's gonna be 41 on opening day, but dude's been solid throughout his career...it's not like he's Jason Marquis or something.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 The one guy who is obsessed with Louisville football is the worst.
Slayer Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I am an English major You'll be the most well-read fry chef around
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I prefer Viva's Astro-love to Marvin's Raven-love juuuuuuuust barely.
vivalaultra Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I am an English major You'll be the most well-read fry chef around Well, I'm happy to know that if my degree amounts to nothing more than dipping frozen potato strings into hot grease, I'll at least have a job title that sounds SOMEWHAT classy..."Fry chef..." Yeah, I can dig it.
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 The one guy who is obsessed with Louisville football is the worst. I forgot about him. He's up there.
NYU Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Mik is the hands-down winner with the Fish love. I don't see how nobody else is really voting for him.
CanadianChris Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Yeah, cabbageboy gets at least an honourable mention. I'd give it to Marvin over viva by a smidgen.
vivalaultra Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Jesus Christ, Marvin must be doing some mega-super-ballistic-homering in the football threads to tear down all that I have worked so hard to acheive.
Rendclaw Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 razazteca with the Spurs slappiness. Anyone who defends Bruce Bowen to that degree has to be licking his nuts big time. And I *like* the Spurs. Not as much as the Pistons or the Magic, but a solid #4 behind the Suns.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Mik is the hands-down winner with the Fish love. I don't see how nobody else is really voting for him. True. I mean, Viva loves his Astros, but he doesn't fawn over them like a gay man. "EVERYTHING ABOUT HANLEY RAMIREZ IS OUTSTANDING! SIGH!!"
vivalaultra Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Mik is the hands-down winner with the Fish love. I don't see how nobody else is really voting for him. True. I might not be gay for the 'Stros, but I'd probably cuddle with Brandon Backe. He has piercing blue eyes.
bob_barron Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Mik's Miguel Cabera love is disturbing. Don't forget Cartman
naiwf Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I don't hate Louisville football yet. I do however hate the Astros and Ravens. The NFL season is shorter, thus Marvin wins.
