My dream winner would be CM Punk, but we all know Vince isn't gonna let Punk go over that way this soon in his WWE run.

So, since Punk's out of the picture, I would like for Kennedy to win the Rumble. I just think Kennedy has what it takes to be a major player in the realm of "Sports Entertainment". He's really gathered himself some heat with his feud with Taker recently and aside from his in-ring skills, he's the best SmackDown has on the mike except for maybe Booker. He's homegrown, so that's a plus for the corporate guys who make the decisions and it's already been established that Vince likes him. So time will tell, but he will be champ.

Kennedy's got a lot against him now because he was over big with Paul Heyman and and a big Heyman supporter.

Fuck, the Royal Rumble is on the 28th? I'm going to be sooo dead that weekend.

Jan. 26th: Wrestling show in Oregon

Jan. 27th: Wrestling show in Newman, California then the Rocky Horror Picture show in Oakland, CA right after

Jan. 28th: To Sacramento to watch the Rumble......

Jan. 29th: Work at 5:30 in the morning.

I'm going to be so tired.

I would like Mr. Kennedy to win...he really really deserves it.

The problem with Monty Brown, is it's not the correct time. Do I think he should come out, and eliminate the most people in spectacular fashion? Yes, but winning the Royal Rumble in his first match?

WWE missed a huge opportunity to gauge how he'll do in that 30 Man Battle Royal. He should have been in it, and then dumped everyone at the end in highly spectacular fashion. Then they could have had him face Cena, and tested how the fans would react on national TV to the man. You could have then had Umaga cause the DQ, or any sort of circumstance.

I'm not sure why Monty hasn't debuted yet. He hasn't done any OVW that I know, they just seem to be...sitting on him. For no apparent reason. I also wonder if their even gonna let him wrestle under the name Monty Brown, or keep the Pounce. They'd be FOOLS to get rid of the Pounce. When someone took it right, that was one killer move...and yes, I know it's just a flying shoulder tackle.

The way I see this Rumble going, is their going to hand it to someone established. The last three years, it's went to a new main eventer, and it's time for someone "established" to win it. Undertaker doesn't need it, but given their tenancies, he probably will.

It depends on what they want to do with wrestlemania.

If cena holds the title: I think Orton will win and we will see Orton/Cena at mania.

If they want Batista in the main event, I think Finlay will win and we will see Finlay/Batista at mania.

But my darkhorse pick is Bobby lashley. He wins the rumble and faces Cena in a title unification match.

They should give it too HBK just so we can see the heel turn by Cena on him. A Cena heel vs HBK face could be the best match they can have with the current crop.

Only other good way is CM Punk.

I voted for Taker, since I would personally love to finally see him win the Rumble. However, I'm not sure if he'd be interested in another World Championship run, given that it would inevitably mean a heavier work schedule- something I think he would rather avoid at this point in his career. I would love to see the Deadman as champ again.

My second choice to win the Rumble is Kennedy.

There's just nobody to really elevate though. No one from ECW has a hope in hell of winning this thing, thus Punk or RVD are out. The Raw options are all guys who are insanely stale when it comes to being title contenders that none of them should win (HHH, Orton, Edge, etc).

UT is really the only logical option. He's never won it and it can create an awesome storyline of him wanting that one last title run. If they go in this direction they better not job him to Batista at WM like I remember hearing rumor of a while back. That'd be such a heinous scenario that it'd wreck UT's WM legacy with the loss, and Batista would have a mega backlash for being the guy to do it.

I say let UT win the Rumble, get the title at WM, and then job it back to Batista around SummerSlam.

I understand the Rumble is meant to elevate someone, but it's still WAY too early to gamble on Punk winning it. And this is coming from a giant Punk mark.

Look back on the list of winners on page 1. They've, rightly, never given a rookie like Punk the win. The closest was Brock, but he'd been booked as a threat to the belt for almost a half a year beforehand. You can't just have someone win the Rumble and say 'hey, instant mega-star'. It doesn't work like that. The best use of the Rumble is to take someone on the cusp of the main event and give them their big win. Punk isn't on the cusp yet. Maybe next year, not now.

Who's on the cusp? Kennedy. Finlay. Umaga. That's about it.

Go back a few months. Mr. Kennedy was talking about having done everything he's done on Smackdown and wanting to move to Raw. Nothing ever came of that interview, save for his feud with the Undertaker.

Kennedy wins the Rumble and elects to jump shows, as Benoit did, to challenge John Cena. There, you've tied up the loose end of Kennedy's promo, Undertaker can still challenge Batista on Smackdown, and Raw gets another main-event heel. It almost makes too much sense.

I'm going with HBK. San Antonio really doesn't factor into my choice as much as it revolves around who will give Cena the best match. Plus, it saves Cena/HHH for some other time for a PPV that might need a bigger boost. Hell, I might even have the Rumble be a disputed finish with Taker and HBK just to put both guys in the eye of the title picture. An HBK Taker match in Febuary would sell oodles of PPV buys.

Kevin Federline.

Randall Orton.

Meltzer says the current plan is UT winning.

That'd be the logical choice.

Sooooo don't have interest in Undertaker vs Batista at Wrestlemania...

It does have a certain appeal to it.

Hey RVD is missing from your list of options.

Because he isn't an option.

Let Big Show enter the rumble late like at #20 to win the Rumble to setup Big Show vs Cena at Wrestlemania.

Cause Cena is a Hogan clone?

I think Show will win to face Cena to re-create Andre/Hogan.

There's no storyline need for Undertaker to win the Rumble to get a title shot at Wrestlemania though. He's obviously in Long's good graces, has recently defeated Mr. Kennedy (and Finlay and King Booker in a tag match), and Batista has dominated Finlay and Booker right out of the title picture (although I could see one final Booker vs. Batista singles match at the Rumble with Booker now having the stips Batista had at Survivor Series). Kayfabe-wise, Undertaker SHOULD be the #1 contender on SmackDown now, and they have No Way Out to help get us to that point anyway.

I really think it's between Randy Orton and CM Punk.

Taker winning the rumble would suck ass. He doesn't need the cred and is the simpliest guy to book a title shot for WM WITHOUT winning the rumble. Whoever WWE has in mind to face the RAW champ should win it if they are doing Taker/Batista. Any contender to Cena needs the win FAR MORE than Taker.

I think a turning Batista vs Cena would be the best business move with Umaga facing Taker, but Taker winning is so easy and so dumb.

I'd like to see Punk win. The Rumble would be a lot more enjoyable if there would ever be a surprise winner. The last bunch have been very obvious.

Do you actually think the current Cena fanbase actually gives a damn what happened back at Wrestlemania 3? That was before they were born! The main reason why I would give the Rumble to Big Show is because of what he has done in the past. Big Show has been in the final stage of the Rumble several times and has done a damn good job of putting the winner over like WM20 when Beniot won why not let Big Show look good for once? If WWE really wants to pay tribute to Andre the Giant then use the backstory of Big Show being in bad health getting ready to retire too. Have Big Show win the Rumble as the big man underdog with the fighting spirit that no one can match you know like the Rocky movies. After the Rumble play the role of Rocky 5 where he is near death and one more match might kill him but he ignores the doctors and goes for it anyway to win it all. Big Show and Cena had some decent to above average matches in the past and Cena giving Big Show the FU can replace the Hogan bodyslam as the big spot but this time after several attempts it backfires and Big Show steals the win by accident because Cena could not pick up Big Show for the FU. After winning the championship at Wrestlemania have Big Show "sell" the title to HHH then have Linda McMahon in the role of Jack Tunney declare the title vacant which would be a good excuse to bring in a new design for the championship belt. Backlash can be a tournament for the undisputed championship the final four can be Cena, Edge, HHH, CM Punk these match ups can setup the Summerslam main event of elimination chamber of Rated RKO vs DX vs Cena vs CM Punk for the championship. I would have DX spit up here and have CM Punk heel turn joining Rated RKO as the nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu WWE Champion.

Hogan has been in one too many Wrestlemanias and its time to think of the future which is Rated RKO Punks :)

Who's an over heel in ECW? Test? Hardcore Holly? Before Heyman left, I would say an ECW guy to put over the brand a little bit more and let Raw and SD run a tournament/mini rumble on their shows to decide who goes to Mania like in the past. Since Raw just had a Royal Rumble style match last week, I'm pretty sure the winner of it all will come from Raw.

No Way Out could be the finals of the tournament for Smackdown. I even have a feeling Booker may make it to the finals since he won KOTR already and he really has no one else to face at Mania other than maybe Finlay, but those have broken up and got back together more times than I can count. I still remember Batista losing to Booker in Spetember and couldn't have another 1 on 1 match with Booker for the title, yet, he was granted a 1 on 1 match at Survivor Series.

Fruity.

The thing is, guys like Cena, HHH, UT, Orton, Edge etc...are the WWE's version of the Mob's "made guys" They don't even need a Rumble win to get a title shot. They could find their way into the title match simply because of their status in the WWE and the support they get from WWE Creative.

To me, I think someone should win the Rumble that needs it to take that next step, someone who might not even end up in the title match, because hey we've seen situations before where people have put up their title shot clause in a match before Wrestlemania.

Does ECW even have enough people to have a mini battle royale I thought they fired every single one of the Originals and the roster is now being supplemented by wrestlers that HHH and Undertaker have grudges against. But I wouldn't mind seeing Matt Striker be the chosen one along with CM Punk to represent ECW at the Royal Rumble. Its a shame though that RVD, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, Balls Mahoney have no chance in hell at doing anything remotely positive in the name of ECW at one of the big WWE PPVs.

How anyone could see Triple H, Edge, or especially Orton, who have strictly been packaged as TAG TEAM WRESTLERS winning the Rumble astounds me.

Taker is winning it. No one watches/purchases Smackdown! shows and they need him elevated back up to "dominant" status to make Batista/Taker not seem like it should be the main event for No Way Out.

Cena should still get the main event of Mania, though. He's the biggest name and biggest draw.

(On the subject of WM, remember last year when everyone guaranteed Orton wins the Rumble. And then the Rey spoiler broke. And then everyone guaranteed HHH would put Cena out of his misery at Mania. Oh wait, he'll actually do it at Backlash...

I hope the bookers fuck with the internet again.

Sandman, Sabu, and RVD might have a chance since they seemed to be used in the most positive aspect when it has comes to the WWE booking them.....well except recently with Sabu and RVD. Balls is sorta a 50/50 because it seems he's used well enough but if its in a big impact way, it will be a lot later down the road...and Tommy.....well Tommy's good at putting other people over so there you go.

I'll go out on a limb and say Flair wins, but loses the WM title spot to Edge in some sort of a challenge match prior to WM. Sorta like last year...only Flair wont get put in the Title Match.

Taker can win somesort of Smackdown Tournament thingy or whatever to face Batista.

The Rumble winner always seems more obvious after the fact. I'd say the only completely obvious Rumble-winner since the Brand Extension has been Brock. Only Jericho had even a remote chance at winning that Rumble besides him, and that's a stretch. Taker was a surprise entrant, so I can't count him.

Benoit made the most sense at the time in 2004, but did anyone REALLY think WWE was going to let Chris Benoit set the Rumble Ironman record and go from #1 to winning, outlasting Orton, Angle, Goldberg, Big Show, Kane, Jericho, and Cena (who at the time was about where Punk is now) to face HHH at Wrestlemania XX, the biggest Mania ever?

2005 was solely between Batista and Cena, I admit, but I'd say neither was more likely than the other, and I'll admit I marked when it came down to them until the botched finish.

2006 was a Benoit-esque situation. Did you really think WWE would put a Cruiserweight over in the Rumble, over HHH and Orton, the two virtually everyone agreed were the only likely winners at this time last year? I knew Orton was toast once he came in #30, but one day WWE's going to swerve us and have the last guy in win, and I almost thought it was this year.

If you really want, I feel that the unpredictibility can be extended back to 2001. 2000 was an obvious Rock victory, 1999 was the Austin vs. McMahon show, and Austin in 1998 was the biggest lock to win the Rumble in history in my opinion. '01 and '02 both had multiple possibilities, though.

It really should be Kennedy, have Benoit, and HBK both fighting each other as the last two... but wait, here comes #30 Mr. Kennedy... then just have him sprint down to the ring, and have him dump both of them out while Shawn is trying to eliminate Benoit. Or do the double elimination finish before #30 even comes out... please, just something not so obvious.

I think everyone was really surprised when Beniot won the rumble and then won the title off HHH at Wrestlemania, espically after it was made into a 3 way with HBK. I mean everyone really wanted Beniot to win but it was basically in everyone's mind that the WWE would screw it up somehow and the whole Beniot thing wouldn't have happen. Luckily WWE didn't really screw it up, even though I think Beniot vs Lesnar would have been better, and Beniot winning the title was really a great series of events. Then WWE screwed it up after Beniot won the title with the whole overshadowing thing with HBK vs HHH.

That's okay though. The finishes to Rumble--No Way Out--Wrestlemania in 2004 are progressively my three favorite moments in my 16 years of being a wrestling fan. Benoit even got to make Shawn Michaels tap out to the Sharpshooter in Canada at Backlash as well. It was a nice little run of PPV endings, ruined by the lame Eddie vs. JBL DQ at Judgment Day.
