Prime Time Andrew Doyle 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 Getting ready to rumble January 22, 2007 With only one stop for the Raw Superstars before the Royal Rumble blasts into San Antonio, Raw will continue to raise the bar in sports-entertainment action this week when the show emanates from the Cajundome in Lafayette, La. Still standing? WWE Champion John Cena will defend his title against Umaga in a Last Man Standing Match at the Royal Rumble. The Last Man Standing Match has no rules except to beat your opponent so severely that he is unable to answer to a 10 count. Armando Estrada still claims that Cena’s win over the previously undefeated Umaga at New Year’s Revolution was a fluke, and chose a match that would allow no fluke victories. After the contract was signed cementing the match, Cena laid out both Umaga and Estrada. Will Estrada and Umaga try to get the upper hand on the final Raw leading into the Royal Rumble? Rumbling towards San Antonio Three spots still remain in the Royal Rumble Match; will any Raw Superstars join the 27 Superstars already announced? Find out all this and more on Raw, Monday night at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 Wow, that's a pretty ambiguous RAW preview. I suppose we'll get the big brawl in the ring at the end of the show, though.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted January 22, 2007 22/01/07? I see this thread has an international flavour... The topic creator is from Australia, the best country in the land. Oh, and something about Raw, go Randall! Did he win at whatever the last PPV was?

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 Under the apparent new policy of closing threads about TV shows, let's hope this one survives. I don't know what we'd do without a 9 page thread of people saying "this sucks" or variants of it.

Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 "This was the worst RAW I've seen in a long time. Vince needs to get his egomaniacal ass off TV. They fired nine people so more divas can take up screen time with their bad acting, and all of the wrestling matches were short and formulaic. Also, Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross need to be fired." HBK to kick off Raw Fresh off his emotional victory over Rated-RKO last week, Shawn Michaels will kick off Raw tonight right at 9/8 CT. What does HBK have on his agenda tonight? Raw vs. SmackDown challenge Six days before The Hardys face MNM at Royal Rumble, Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy will face Joey Mercury in a special non-title Raw vs. SmackDown challenge match. Who will gain momentum for their team heading into this Sunday?

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 "Why is there only 1 match annouced for the last Raw before a major PPV?" Because there's Smackdown! before the Rumble, and Rumble will be a SD! dominated show, with Taker winning the Rumble and Batista/Kennedy being better than Cena/Umaga. Raw's just treading 'til they do a tournament to have someone face Cena, likely Shawn.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Why is there only 1 match annouced for the last Raw before a major PPV? CAUSE ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN WWE!! The Rumble sells itself and Cena vs Umaga is going to make WWE $20 million who cares about the boring undercard of Masterlock Challenge, Rated RKO dropping the tag belts to a pair of stupid gimmick wrestlers, Undertaker holding down Smackdown, IC and/or US title defenses.
