Children of Men should get a ton of nominations but it won't. Dreamgirls and The Departed will kill everybody in the overall nods department. They should just cut down on the time for the actual show and present Jennifer Hudson and Helen Mirren with their awards at the announcements.

Especially if they end up giving the same speeches. I remember Jamie Foxx doing his retarded "What'd I Say" Ray Charles shout-out after every award he won.

I think the only sure locks for Best Picture at this point are The Departed and Babel. The Prestige won't get any love and I doubt The Fountain would too. Children Of Men may possibly pull a nomination but I have doubts. Dreamgirls will probably get a nod as well.

I can't see Stranger Than Fiction getting any nominatons but I think Little Miss Sunshine might get a best supporting nod for Toni Collette or Steve Carrel. Leo is almost a lock for best actor with Nicholson right behind him for supporting actor though I would really like Clive Owen win for COM.

Could Scorsese finally walk away with a best director Oscar?

Marty will get nominated and once again get fucking hosed and with the company I'll be watching with if he gets hosed...we riot. Also, expect that Jennifer Hudson wins, within 2 weeks of the win she'll be on American Idol.

I'm hoping Borat wins something. If they're going to blow his cover this much, might as well end it on a high note.

Why the Dreamgirls love? It's black people, and Beyonce, becoming singers. Wow, we haven't seen that done a thousand times. I hope the Academy will, eventually or in another century, start giving out awards for movies that are actually good.

Dreamgirls does deserve nominations for Eddie and Jennifer Hudson though. I'll post my list of nominees in a bit.

I've been sold on my five picks for Best Pic for weeks, LMS's win for picture at the PGA Awards further convinces me it will get the Full Monty/Four Weddings and a Funeral indie comedy/critic darling slot this year.

Wow, only Eddie Murphy was able to stand up for Dreamgirls. That movie got next to nothing. But I'm big time happy about Pan's Labyrinth and Little Miss Sunshine snapping up so many nods.

Cannot believe some people didn't expect The Queen to get so many nods. And the Academy LOVES Clint Eastwood, absolutely loves him. Martin might want to watch his rear cause Clint is coming for it. If Martin cannot take the Oscar this year, he might have to wait until he dies and gets one because he died.

Actually Dreamgirls got the most nominations with 8, but when I saw it didn't pick up an Adapted Screenplay nod, I knew something was up.

Clint should release a statement that if he wins over Martin Scorsese he'll boycott.

Of the big time nods, it got one. That's pretty damn shocking. And since Clint doesn't need another paperweight, they'll give it to the 93 guy because it was such an emotional film. Getting the minor ones may matter to the people who worked on the film, but missing the big ones is damn shocking.

Martin Scorsese will probably get the "Denzel Washington/Morgan Freeman obligatory we should have given this to him for better movies but we didn't so we'll just go ahead and give it to him now so everyone goes home happy" award.

*note: I say Denzel because while Alonzo Harris was an awesome character, he was much much better as Malcolm X.

It got 2, they damn sure didn't overlook Jennifer Hudson
