ChrisMWaters Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Phenom's decision? February 5, 2007 This week, Raw emanates from the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Phenom to render a decision As first reported by WWE Mobile Alerts, 2007 Royal Rumble winner Undertaker will open Raw this week by revealing which champion he will face at WrestleMania 23. At exactly 9/8 CT, The Phenom will render his grim decision live on Raw. Last week, moments after Shawn Michaels and WWE Champion John Cena became the World Tag Team Champions, Undertaker rose up through the floor to stare down The Champ. Does the Phenom have his eyes on the WWE Championship? On the same page? Speaking of Cena & HBK, are the new World Tag Team Champions really a cohesive unit? Just moments after winning the titles last week on Raw, it appeared as though Michaels may have been thinking about delivering Sweet Chin Music to his new partner. Is Michaels looking to take out Cena? Trumped Mr. McMahon was not pleased when Donald Trump won the WWE fans’ adoration by having buckets of his money dumped into the American Airlines Center. Will Mr. McMahon try to top the Donald? What does the future hold for these two rival billionaires? Find out this and more on Raw this Monday night at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.
sluggo Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 It's no way Taker gives his choice out tonight. They are going to drag it out for another month.
DrVenkman PhD Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Current news indicates they want to NOT drag out the WM main event announcements.
Aero Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Plus, if he announces that he wants to face Batista, then they can do the "HOW CAN THEY COEXIST!?" story to the extreme at No Way Out. Same deal does for HBK-Cena if they get that announced early.
Matt Young Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 It has to be Cena, otherwise, why would he announce it on Raw? That is unless they plan to have all 3 champions there... Yeah, they probably will do that.
DrVenkman PhD Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Raw is the "A" show and WrestleMania event announcements will not be "wasted" on SmackDown.
Matt Young Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Raw is the "A" show and WrestleMania event announcements will not be "wasted" on SmackDown. Well the raw match will eb the main event, whether it includes The Undertaker or not. That's my guess. Longshot, I know.
MillenniumMan831 Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Trump is pissed Vince won't take WrestleMania back to Trump Plaza. Apparently, Trump wanted to simulcast The Apprentice finale from WM. Or not.
Failed Bridge Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 What does the future hold for these two rival billionaires? I thought Vince was no longer in the Billionaires bracket unless he made back that $400mill or so lost a few years back between the XFL and other failed things.
2GOLD Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 What does the future hold for these two rival billionaires? I thought Vince was no longer in the Billionaires bracket unless he made back that $400mill or so lost a few years back between the XFL and other failed things. I'm pretty sure not calling the boss of your company a billionaire and reminding him he has made some bad business decisions that cost him millions is grounds to have you fired. Vince doesn't want accuracy, he wants to be told he is the greatest thing on the planet and we would all die without him.
Failed Bridge Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Either way if Taker's WM win streak is still intact then it won't be anymore after this year.
2GOLD Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Actually, I think Undertaker will get the win this year at Mania and lose next year. I honestly feel like they are going to give him one last run with the belt before he starts wrapping up his career. I got him becoming champion this year and then dropping a match at Mania next year. Which is what I think you meant anyway. I think. I'm not sure.
slimm44 Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Taker will get interrupted, he may or may not give out who he wants to face. Vince will give copies of his Muscle/Fitness cover to the fans from the ceiling
Dobbs 3K Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Undertaker will announce he's going to face all three men in a Hell in the Cell handicap match. OK, probably not. But if would fit his character.
LoRisk Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Vince will give copies of his Muscle/Fitness cover to the fans from the ceiling Actually, Vince should take a page out of Mr. Burns' book back when he was feuding with Arthur Fortune and drop silver dollars from the ceiling. That'd be quality television.
Angle-plex Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Undertaker shows up on RAW to announce he is going after Smackdown's champion? Boorring. Makes him look like a chump.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 From Alvarez: - Raw tonight opens with Undertaker coming out to make his decision about the World Title shot at WrestleMania. Here's my prediction: He chooses Cena. After all, why would he come out on Raw to announce that he's choosing Big Dave? This will allow Cena and Shawn to get along as tag team champions since there is no longer any reason for them to fight. But then, at the PPV in the Cena & Shawn vs. Taker & Dave match, Dave screws up and costs Taker the win, leading to Taker changing his mind and challenging Dave for his belt. Either way, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out, as WWE actually has an intriguing storyline right now that plays out across its two main shows That could actually work.
haVoc Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Added to the preview... First time ever For the first time ever, Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy will go one-on-one with the legendary Nature Boy, Ric Flair in non-title action. If Flair can somehow pull out a victory over Hardy, he will earn the right to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 23. Women's gold at stake WWE Women's Champion Mickie James will be in action tonight, defending her title against red-hot challenger Melina. Will Melina ride the paparazzi to her first ever Women's Championship? Or will Mickie remain the cornerstone of the competitive Raw division? You know Batista will show up tonight for Takers announment.

Well IMO, the only intriguing aspect is if UT picks Cena and sticks with it. I mean if he just switches to Batista at the next PPV, all intrigue is lost.
DrVenkman PhD Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Added: Flair vs Jeff Hardy - if Flair wins, he earns the right to fight for the IC title at Mania. Melina vs Mickie James - WWE Women's title on the line. That Flair / Hardy match is iffy. If Flair wins, then Jeff can't be in Money in the Bank 3 (and that seems to be the annual Mania match that he'd fit right into) but the idea of HBK, Taker, and Flair - 3 legends - winning gold at WrestleMania is not bad. I just watched Cyber Sunday on 24/7 and Piper and Flair winning the tag titles got an amazing pop.
fazzle Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Flair vs. Jeff Hardy? That seems like an..odd matchup.
haVoc Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Flair/Hardy will only go about 3 minutes before Kenny runs down and costs Flair the match.
Corkscrew_Senton Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 "Kenny Dykstra" is a lame gimmick, unless he starts coming down to the ring with a wad of tobacco in his cheek and JR starts pronouncing his name like he has to hawk up flem, a la Harry Caray.
Dobbs 3K Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Yeah, I don't have high hopes for Flair/J.Hardy to be lengthy matchup. It could be interesting to see Nitro or Mercury try to screw Jeff, only to accidentally cause Flair to lose, leading to a Flair vs MNM feud. It would be worth it to hear Flair cut a promo on Melina.
ChrisMWaters Posted February 5, 2007 Author Report Posted February 5, 2007 "Kenny Dykstra" is a lame gimmick, unless he starts coming down to the ring with a wad of tobacco in his cheek and JR starts pronouncing his name like he has to hawk up flem, a la Harry Caray. All Harry Caray impersonations are handled by Todd Grisham.
Matt Young Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 It has to be Cena, otherwise, why would he announce it on Raw? That is unless they plan to have all 3 champions there... Yeah, they probably will do that. Batista and Lashley appearing on RAW tonight Credit: PWInsider As part of the storyline over which championship the Undertaker will challenge for at Wrestlemania 23, ECW World champion Bobby Lashley and WWE World champion Batista will both be appearing on Monday Night Raw tonight. ---------------------- Hey, I was right.
Ace Austin Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Actually, I think Undertaker will get the win this year at Mania and lose next year. Which is what I think you meant anyway. I think. I'm not sure. I think that his streak will end cuz they cant keep givin every Rumble winner the world championship. It's already happened 6 years in a row, so i think that it will end this year. The same thing will happen in the MITB with eventually having sum1 unsuccesfully cashing it in.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 It will be Batista. HBK is naturally going to be the other #1 Contender and there is no way Triple H is going to let his buddy get sent to the Smackdown roster to fight Batista. Cena isn't going anywhere either. That leaves Batista/Taker by default.
