Royal Rumble Anthology DVD Box Set

Recommended Posts

Yeah, by a whole $3.. but money is money.

I do want this, but hopefully they release volumes like they did with Mania - 2002 through 2006 is useless to me.

Then again, the cost of buying 3 volumes individually plus Rumble 07 on its own might end up being more than the current discount rate for the whole thing.

Weren't we talking about this in the 2007 DVDs thread?

I think my interest in the Rumble ended when McMahon actually won it one year. Though, seeing Mr. Perfect make it to the final four that one year was nice. Other than that, I'd only be interested in the Rumbles up to the end of the Attitude era.

It was not mentioned in that thread... And besides, a 20 DVD Rumble set deserves its own thread.

Yes it was:

Royal Rumble: The Complete Anthology 3/13/07

QUOTE

January 28, 2007 will be the 20th Anniversary of the Royal Rumble. WWE fans have always loved this unique match, and when a WrestleMania championship opportunity sweetened the winner’s pot, the Royal Rumble became one of the most important annual events on WWE’s calendar. This DVD set will depict, in their entirety, the first 20 Royal Rumbles in a handsome collector’s box. The first 12 Royal Rumble events have never been available on DVD.

They are indeed...

Vol 1 (1988 - 1992): http://www.silvervision.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=WEBDVD17

Vol 2 (1993 - 1997): http://www.silvervision.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=WEBDVD18

Vol 3 (1998 - 2002): http://www.silvervision.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=WEBDVD19

Vol 4 (2003 - 2007): http://www.silvervision.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=WEBDVD20

If I don't pick up the complete set I'll probably pick up Vol 1 & 2.

I already have 04, 05, and 06 so if anything I'll pick up Vol. 3.

Volume 3 is an iffy purchase for me, if I were to go the Volumes route. I already own 98 and 2000-2001 on VHS and 2002 on DVD, so the only things I'd be upgrading to DVD will be FILLED with logo blurs and a PPV I don't even want (99).

The plus side, I seem to remember 99 having that train wreck watchability to it, and Rock/Mankind is pretty brutal.

Wonder if they'll edit out where the commercial breaks are suppossed to be for the 1988 Rumble or not.

Also, will this be the first time a match for the WWF Women's Tag Team Championship is featured on a DVD release for WWF/E?

I just hope Volume 1 contains the PPV Versions of 89, 90, and 91, and not the edited home video versions. Sure, We're not missing much by not seeing Haku vs Harley Race and The Mountie vs Tito, but it would still be nice to have the shows complese

I hope the post 2000 shows still retain the DVD extras. I probably just get the first 2 Volumes since I have all the rest.

Living in England, I've got 89-92 Silver Vision versions on DVD already. Which is a bit of a downer, because I've got every other Rumble besides the last two in some form or another, except obviously 88.

Still, the rest should be more than worth it.

I already have 2004-06 on dvd, and want to get the regular dvd for 07 cuz of the box

I have 99-2002 taped on vhs from ppv, so a dvd upgrade would be nice, cept for the logo blurs. too bad wwe 24/7 just doesnt show the whole series one month. I have the 92 rumble match on the flair dvd and pipers ic title win on his dvd, but I guess itd be cool to have the overlooked New Foundation vs Orient Express match on dvd.

I ll probably get the volumes and skip the last. hopefully they will be available at CC so I get a discount lol

I don't think there's any mention on WWEShop.com or Amazon.com that this will also be released a la WM Anthology with 5-year volumes in the US. Hopefully this is not a UK exclusive deal with Silvervision and we also get the sets 'cause I already have all Rumble DVDs from 2000 on.

As for that person that hoped previously released Rumble dvds will retain their extras for these box set I highly doubt it. None of the Mania Anthology discs had any.

Rockers vs Orient Express finally on DVD!! Excellent!!

So will the non televised matches and the Free For All matches be included in the set(s)? Yeah I know Brooklyn Brawler was in most of them but the 1988 and 1997 pre-shows are must have!

As a WM anthology owner, I second this. Even the ads for shirts and whatnot are missed.

Eh, I think I'll end up holding out a few months so WWEShop can put it on sale like they did w/ the WM box set.

It's on sale right now.

Normal price is $260 something.

Right now they're selling it for about $186
