bob_barron Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 February has been a brutal month for movies
razazteca Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 People love cross dressing fattys in the beginning it was the Klumps, then Big Momma's, Maedia's, and now Norbit.
Mik Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 What was Norbit's projected gross? That seems much higher than I expected.
naiwf Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 I'm now convinced Americans are just a retarded people.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 I'm now convinced Americans are just a retarded people. It took Norbit doing well to convince you of that?
Special K Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 That movie looks like the worst ever. but what else is someone supposed to see? Shit, even the videos are abonimable this week.
Black Lushus Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Hannibal Rising looks like shit in a bag
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 That movie looks like the worst ever. but what else is someone supposed to see? Shit, even the videos are abonimable this week. Dunno. That abomination of a movie, The Departed, is released on DVD this Tuesday.

Ted the Poster Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Hannibal Rising looks like shit in a bag Me too. I don't WANT sympathy for Hannibal Lecter. He's supposed to be this genius, unforgiving monster of a man and shouldn't have a fucking backstory that tries to make you empathize with him.
The Niggardly King Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Norbit was Pluto Nash levels of awesomely horrible shit.
Special K Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 YOU SHUT UP EDDITE MURPHY IS INCredible ours years ago...
Guest A.BUTCHER'S HOUSE OF RIBS Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 It's good to see Pan's Labyrinth still pulling in good numbers.
The Niggardly King Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Seems like everyone got a cameo in Norbit... the best was "GQ SMOOTH" Cuba Gooding Jr.
Ginger Snaps Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Norbit looks so terrible, but you had to know that it would be a hit. It's Eddie Murphy in a fat suit, for some reason people will empty their wallets to see that.
Man Who Sold The World Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 "I made 33 million opening weekend, how are YOU doin'?"
AndrewTS Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Children of Men/Pan's Labyrinth is pretty much the only reason to go to theaters these days. But you'll probably have to travel to a non-local one to see them.
Ginger Snaps Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 I know he's nominated for an Oscar and all that, but I just have to say that I'm surprised at how successful Eddie Murphy still is, because 90% (or more) of the films he's been in in the last......12 years at least.....have been complete shit. Seriously, the best things he's done in the last 12 years have probably been the Shrek films. I don't know about Dreamgirls either. I have heard that it's really not as good as people say it is.
The Niggardly King Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Bowfinger and Life are the only ones I can think of, since I haven't seen Dreamgirls yet. Most Murphy movies follow a simple formula of... don't expect anything from them, and don't see them at the theaters. There are a ton of movies that I didn't expect shit from that I've seen in the last 5 months... friends have dragged me to see them, and those films managed to just even go beyond my worst expectations... but somehow Norbit didn't.
