Ravenbomb Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I'd put this one up there with Scott Tenormin Must Die, which up until now has been far and away my favorite South Park episode. It's still my #1, but Imaginationland 1-3 is now a close 2nd.
luke-o Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 My favourite South Park episode is the World of Warcraft spoof. It still makes me laugh out loud to this day. But Scott Tenamen must die does contain, "Oh let me taste your tears Scott!"
PLAGIARISM! Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I don't think any joke in any show in the last few years hit me as hard as the opening scene of 'With Apologies to Jesse Jackson'. My God. Choosing an overall favourite South Park is too difficult for me.
AmericanDragon Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 I can already tell that the next episode is going to be awesome. Guitar Queer-o "Obsessed with the Guitar Hero video game, Stan and Kyle make a great team and score record points when they play. Stan realizes he has the potential for enormous success if he plays with another partner. He and Kyle break up but, without his friend, Stan quickly folds under the pressure of being a rockstar."
Richard Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 So South Park isn't effected by the strike? Or did they finish ahead of time?
NYU Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 This has been one of the weakest episodes this season. No real laugh-out-loud moments anywhere.
DerangedHermit Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 This has been one of the weakest episodes this season. No real laugh-out-loud moments anywhere. That changed quickly at the end
randomguy Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 The end was awesome but it was kind of weak overall. Too bad because I love the premise, I hate fake-music games.
The Niggardly King Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Screw you guys, this was one of the best episodes for me. So comical
The Niggardly King Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Seriously... the Famous People of Denver bit, the obvious advertising throughout the show, the use of the songs... best single episode of the season.
DMann2003 Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Nothing is bad about an episode that has such frequent use of "Carry On Wayward Son"
AndrewTS Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 So South Park isn't effected by the strike? Or did they finish ahead of time? Since the creators are also the writers...I don't think they'd be going on strike.
Mik Posted November 8, 2007 Author Report Posted November 8, 2007 I'm sorry, but Heroin Hero is maybe one of my favorite things of all time. The dragon voice...c'mon you almost got me! Killing me. Including Randy's tantrum. The overall episode was ok, but man.... I love me some Heroin Hero.
haws bah gawd Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 As others have said, this was just an OK episode......until the end. Holy shit.
EricMM Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 The ending was exceedingly predictable. You could tell when they had the kid doing acoustic guitar hero where this ep was going, ultimately.
JHawk Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 "Butters, you want to play me next?" "OK, but I get to be the one to abandon you after the sex and drugs party."
randomguy Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 The end was predictable from the first two minutes, the whole point was how fucking lame being good at video-game music is. That said, the end was still awesome.
Corey_Lazarus Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Best part was Randy ACTUALLY playing guitar, and the kids making fun of him for it. Cartman: "Real guitars are for OLD people."
luke-o Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 The kid playing John The Fisherman acustically had me in stiches. That and Heroin Hero. "You can't cheat Craig!" "How was I cheating?" "You tricked me you black asshole!"
Cheech Tremendous Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Stan telling Jay Culter that he sucked but he might be good someday was the highlight for me.
Downhome Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 So South Park isn't effected by the strike? Or did they finish ahead of time? Since the creators are also the writers...I don't think they'd be going on strike. From the DVDTalk board: According to an article in today's USA Today about the strike, the writers of South Park aren't WGA members (or wouldn't be considered in violation, since animation is a different union) and the show will continue as planned. If that's totally true, Comedy Central should give Matt and Trey an assload of money to get them to continue producing episodes, if only for the rest of this year. Oh yeah, and:
ZGangsta Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 That episode was amazing. I think it's getting some hate since there weren't many huge laugh out loud moments and it was probably the 'cleanest' South Park they've done, but I thought the whole story arc was brilliant (if predictable).
