I pretty much picked Albany as a shot in the dark cuz I'd never really been overly impressed with UVA and usually one of those 13-15 seeds pull through each year. Man, some heart attacks with VA Tech, Oregon, Nevada...I fell asleep during Oregon/Miami, from jetlag, and just got up to see a shitload of close games end. Even though I had Wisconsin going to the next round, them losing would have probably put me in the money already. UNLV needs to break them. Looks like we'll have a strong finishing session for the first round but right now, what would you say ranks as the top five opening round matches? I got Duke/VCU, Nevada/Creighton, X/BYU, Miami/Oregon and either Illinois/VY or ND/Winthrop. My downfall was upsets that never happened -- I picked both of the 6-11 upsets, but struck out with three higher-seeded upsets that never materialized (Oral Roberts, Long Beach State and Albany), as well as two 10 seeds that lost to 7s (Gonzaga and Texas Tech). cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2007 My bracket sucks ass right now. I had a decent enough day yesterday at 12-4, but man today has been a nightmare. I swear I am just 9-7 on the day. It seems like all of my upset picks all went astray. I can't believe Illinois blew it against a piece of cheese team like Va Tech, which cost the Big 10 a perfect opening round too. I didn't have Winthrop, mainly out of spite since everyone had them. I also had Holy Cross over SIU, which was dumb. Had Arkansas over USC, which at least seemed like a decent pick at the time. Had Nova over UK, mainly since UK has stunk of late but I should have figured in that Nardi was hurting. Just a crappy day overall, but at least I still have the local teams alive (U of L, UK, IU).
