RonL21 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 A record-setting 80,103 packed inside Detroit’s Ford Field Sunday night, though millions of WWE fans around the world will forever remember WrestleMania 23 as one of sports-entertainment’s greatest moments. Now detouring from the Road to WrestleMania, Raw rolls ahead to Dayton, Ohio Monday night. But where will this path lead its Superstars? Traditionally, the first Raw after WrestleMania makes for one of the year’s most exciting evenings in sports-entertainment. This Monday night will be no exception, though it also promises to be one of the most tense-filled in Raw history, thanks to WWE’s new Chairman of the Bald. WrestleMania’s Battle of the Billionaires ended very badly for the now-hairless Mr. McMahon, so Raw’s Superstars are well advised to stay out of his crosshairs when he crops up in Ohio. There’s no telling what he’s capable of doing tonight, but after Sunday’s “shear” embarrassment, it’s guaran-damn-teed that no one—not the Superstars, the WWE fans, or any barber shops operating within the Buckeye State—is safe from “Mr. McMadman’s” hot-headed backlash. Shawn Michaels put forth a WrestleMania performance only a Showstopper like him could deliver, nearly reaching WWE’s highest mountaintop once more. But the Heartbreak Kid would know exactly that come the final result, as John Cena successfully defended the WWE Championship Sunday night by forcing HBK to tap out in the STFU. Both Superstars will be on hand at Dayton’s Nutter Center tonight, and both are still the World Tag Team Champions. But can they still co-exist with the titles? Hell, after what transpired at WrestleMania, can they co-exist in the same state? Playboy cover girl Ashley nearly stripped the Women’s Championship from Melina during WrestleMania’s Lumberjill Match last night. However, the A-list Diva barely scored the cover to retain the title, then exited the ring amid Lumberjill pandemonium. Raw rolls out the red carpet once again for the primal screamer this Monday night, but will paparazzi snap any photos of her next challenger in the Buckeye State? Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 2, 2007 What's an "A-List Diva"? Let's mention Buckeye a few more times, just so people remember there's an actual sporting event tonight to watch.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 Melina's character is that of someone who is friend's with Hollywood folk like K-Fed and Paris Hilton, hence she is an "A-List" Diva. WWE.com's mention of "Buckeye State" is what reminded me I'll be missing Raw (combined with a radio DJ complaining about it).
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 As stated over the last few years, this is my favourite Raw of the year. Something big ALWAYS happens on the first Raw after WrestleMania, to set the tone for the rest of the year.. (Goldberg, HHH led DX etc) so let's see if there's any sort of surprise. (draft pick? end of draft?) No, and no, but you know, there might be something new or innovative.

Then you might or might not want to read this: Raw airs live in parts of Canada tonight Viewers of Rogers Digital Cable in Canada can see Raw live tonight on Ch. 01 & Ch. 59 at 9 p.m., even though The Score won't be airing it until around midnight due to the NCAA basketball finals. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 lol, Canada Is there anyone we can think of who will be debuted tonight like Lesnar and Umaga (and probably a couple of others that I've already forgotten)? I'm sorta pissed that I got up about halfway through the STFU last night and was out the door by the tapout, because I missed the handshake moment afterwards. I've dug Cena and Michaels being stuck together by the titles and am actually interested to see what happens now. Tonight is also the supposed beginning of Foley's superdupermassivehumongous storyline idea.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 Please let there be a draft because Raw, without the SD! talent and CM Punk from ECW, is awful. Orton/Edge's storyline the lone exemption, but c'mon, it's two heels.

No. My ideal would be Punk having a serious feud with Austin mirroring the Raven/Punk deal with Austin coming out of retirement at 'Slam to put Punk over. I do like the idea of Foley and Punk back together. They have tremendous charisma and anything with Ace Steel is gold.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 "with Austin coming out of retirement at 'Slam to put Punk over." Please explain how it comes to be that Austin refused to put over a superior athletic former NCAA Champion and legit monster killer in Brock Lesnar, yet he decides to end his retirement and does so by choosing CM Punk to beat him. If this happened, Punk would be the least liked (as in X-Pac Heat) wrestler of the decade.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 I believe Austin refused to job to Lesnar on a free TV show with no build, the latter part of that statement being the key issue.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 I like Punk, he has some nice strikes and great facial expressions, but I think this is a case of wanting a ROH angle a little too much. You want the guy to go from debuting to beating the biggest merchandise seller and arguably most popular star in the history of wrestling in his comeback match. Again, I like Punk, I just think that's a little much. Then again, I want Cena Vs. Khali to main event WM 24.

That is correct. Austin's problem was not with losing to Lesnar but with the the timing of it. Austin felt, rightly so, that he should be the final person Lesnar beats, not the first. Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 And he then ever so professionally walked out(again) instead of either using his backstage power to get the match changed or just doing the damn job. While Austin walking out was the wrong move on his part, doing the match that soon was an incredibly stupid move, and the writing team only put it together out of spite because Austin criticized them on Byte This. When he returned in 2003, Austin also revealed that it wasn't just the proposed job to Lesnar that made him decide to walk out, his neck was in worse shape than he was letting on, but it was the last straw for him. Yeah, the match being done like that was dumb, but come on. If he really wanted to, he could have gotten the match changed, at the very least made into a DQ ending. Instead he just walks away, again. Hell, I don't even remember *why* he left the first time. But on his other walkout, after being told he was jobbing to Coach? Would this board be giving HHH the same leeway if he walked out when he was supposed to job to JR?

Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I don't blame Austin for walking either time. He basically made WWE what it is today. He didn't have any reason to job to Lesnar without any build, and certainly not to job to Johnathan Coachman of all people. Both instances were basically the WWE writers being petty and stupid.
