LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 I'll tell you this though.....The dude had a mean looking one handed chokeslam. It was painful looking. His helicoptor spinning powerbomb was pretty nasty too.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 This thread might as well be closed. Who wants to put the chances on WWE bringing back a roid freak who has had serious anger problems in the past, once almost killing a wrestler with scissors? He got better! Assault with a squeegee isn't really much to worry about.
Jingus 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 gM is right. Sid is nuthin' without steroids, and Vince sure as hell can't afford to hire anymore juiceheads right now. Then again, Sid DID manage to pass the drug tests back when they were doing 'em in '95...
Downhome 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 Did he pass the drug tests, or did he "pass" the drug tests?
Jingus 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 They were pretty serious back then, considering Vince had just barely scraped by getting convicted and going to prison over steroids. Also, any athlete who REALLY wants to pass a drug test can do so, there are ways.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 Sid needs to return and they need to start holding charity softball games again. That'll be good press for the company and a small way of giving back in a fun matter. Maybe take a RAW off to hold the game live on USA, give the guys a break. It could be like an All-Star week! The entire roster could play and it could be the ultimate of comedy events. Use Smackdown for something that week like a special on WWE wrestlers visiting sick kids at the many children's hospitals or something. Hold it during the summer when the CW honestly could give a crap less. It's a way to give the whole roster a sorta break and we can all thank Sid. It's BRILLIANT! Sure the company loses a week of business like house shows but it gives them a week off. ECW could just be a best of edition and everyone is happier. It's the ultimate in moral boasts. Guest Wrestling Icon Report post Posted June 30, 2007 I would love to see Sid return to ECW. I know he could make a huge impact on that brand. ECW would be perfect as the brand needs all the star power it can get and with ECW history everyone knows the brand was made for new stars and for legends to re catch that spotlight. Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2007 I guess this would be more suited for the other folder, but since we already have a Sid thread I'll stick it here. Last night, Sid showed up on Memphis Wrestling starting an angle with Jerry Lawler: Sid Vicious in Memphis Wrestling 7.14.17 Sid Vicious Interview in Memphis 7.14.07 Jerry Lawler Interview about Sid Vicious The ceiling there looks just a bit too low. The Buzz 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2007 I might get flamed for saying so, maybe not. But Sid still has it. I'd love to see him back doing shit like that and wrestling once a month at ppvs.
Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2007 Outside of internet forums, will the live WWE crowd remember who he is?
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2007 Well, he was a main eventer in the final year or so of WCW, so a lot of people would probably still remember him, I'd think.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2007 It's kind of silly to question if fans will remember who he is if he returns. They remember any number of the legends that we haven't seen it many years, so why not Sid? Once upon a time, he was a huge figure in the business.
dubq 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2007 There seems to be a stigma that a huge majority of the current WWE fanbase are new fans from the past couple of years - I kinda find that hard to believe. I'm guessing that a huge majority of them are either lifelong fans or those from the mid/late 90's who stuck around - so obviously they're going to remember who Sid is. Hell if they remember who Tatanka is then they'll remember Sid. I wonder if he does come back if they'll let him use the Sid Vicious name since there's really no other company around anymore to associate that past "WCW" history with? Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2007 I would think so..."Psycho Sid" always sounded a bit corny, and they definitely wouldn't go back to calling him Sid Justice at this point.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2007 I'm pretty sure they could just call him "Sid" and leave it at that. In wrestling, having one name is just fine for screwballs and women. (unless it's copyrighted, of course)
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2007 When I saw those videos Sid's face automatically reminded me of an actor, but I couldn't for the life of me remember the guys name. After searching a few movies I finally figured it out. Sid is starting to look exactly like Michael Rooker - http://entimg.msn.com/i/150/Movies/Actors3...541_150x200.jpg

Enigma 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2007 I'd much rather see Sid vs. John Cena than Lashley vs. John Cena or Khali vs. John Cena.
Boxer 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2007 I'd much rather see Sid vs. John Cena than Lashley vs. John Cena or Khali vs. John Cena. Sid vs. John Cena should be saved, but which pay per view is better? Summerslam is obviously too soon. So we got Survivor Series. This is a pay per view where the title hasn't changed hands since November 2002. November title changes don't really happen that often these days anymore. Royal Rumble? The transitional big one pay per view between Survivor Series and Mania. Would it work here, or would it be overshadowed by the Rumble match itself? And then there's WRESTLEMANIA 24. The grand daddy of them all. Then again, Sid supposedly bomb as champion during the press conferences for Mania 13, I don't know if they would put him back in the main event picture. Boxer 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2007 The world title changed hands at the 2006 Survivor Series, where King Booker dropped it to Batista. I should've been more clear. I meant the WWE Championship, not world titles period.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2007 Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter John Laurinaitis is the WWE executive pushing for the company to bring back Sid Vicious. While it would certainly be an interesting move, it is being called a long shot at best. It is interesting to note that Laurinaitis would bring up Sid’s name considering the two have had heat for years as Laurinaitis was the WCW road agent that suggested he try the kick from the middle rope at the WCW Sin PPV on January 14, 2001 which resulted in him suffering a very graphic compound fracture to his leg. The match at Sin pretty much ended Sid’s career, although he has been working independent dates every now and then in his mid-40s. Laurinaitis attended an independent wrestling show over the weekend that featured Vicious headlining against Jerry “The King” Lawler. Based on all that we have heard, Sid was moving around good. I hate to bring up an old topic, but I would love to see Sid get one more run. Long shot or not, I hope more comes of this.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2007 Great, then Sid can do his angle where he wins the WWE Championship and has a lengthy reign before dropping the belt.

dubq 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2007 Doesn't look like he's in THAT bad of shape dude... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_m6RrXEKNY This match is from the 11th of this month. He looks to be in better shape than most guys who've been out of the ring for as long as he has.
