Nightwing 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Crimson Mask may have bad information, but he's credible enough that if he's posting this information he probably has it on good authority that it's true. He's hardly the type to go about saying something just to stir shit up. It doesn't make sense, even for someone who isn't making sense in the first place, and to me it sounds like someone is trying to make a story. Not to say that CMI is trying to, but perhaps his sources are.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Like the old saying goes "A man can build 1,000 bridges in his lifetime, but suck 1 cock and he'll be forever know as a cocksucker" Guess this applies to Benoit, wrestled his whole life, kills his family, and will forever be know as a murderer now. Personally, I like the variation of "it takes three miracles to be a saint, but only one dick to be a cocksucker."

Superfly Snuka 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Booker T on Chris Benoit: http://www.khou.com/video/news-index.html?nvid=154648 Great interview with Booker, thanks! Am surprised that Vince hasn't put the Kabosh on interviews with his wrestlers so he can micromanage the situation a little/PR control. I think Booker articulated everything really well, especially the whole breaking point stuff. Makes me realize how much this reaction on this board has been a psychological splitting defens emchanism: Everything's either Benoit's all good and he could do no bad (early on) and now with the truth of the murders, Benoit is all bad/all evil who is and always was scum. Truly brings into question whether a man is judged by a lifetime of deeds (both good and bad)or just his worst deed.

Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Uh oh... from espn.com: The WWE says reports speculating that steroids played a role in the apparent murder-suicide of professional wrestler Chris Benoit, whom police say killed his wife and son before taking his own life, are "sensationalistic" and are not supported by evidence in the case. But a link emerged connecting Benoit to a Florida company charged with selling performance-enhancing drugs, as the Albany County, N.Y., district attorney's office said Benoit had received deliveries from the pharmacy. And prosecutors, lacking a suicide note and lacking a motive, still want to know if side effects from performance-enhancing drugs could possibly explain what might have caused Benoit to kill two members of his family and take his own life. Toxicology test results may not be available to investigators for weeks. As for whether steroids played a role in the crime, Fayette County, Ga. District Attorney Scott Ballard said: "We don't know yet. That's one of the things we'll be looking at." The WWE, in a news release on its Web site, pointed out that according to police, the steroids found in Benoit's suburban Atlana home were from legal prescriptions; that in the absence of toxicology tests, there was no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body; that Benoit tested negative for steroids in April; and that the physical evidence from the home and the time that passed between the two killings and Benoit's suicide suggest deliberate acts, rather than an act of rage. The WWE "strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated that there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts," the Stamford, Conn.-based company said. Benoit strangled his wife Nancy, 43, suffocated his 7-year-old son Daniel and placed a Bible next to their bodies before hanging himself with a weight-machine pulley, authorities said Tuesday. Recent Pro Wrestler Deaths Chris Benoit's death in a murder-suicide is the latest in a string of professional wrestlers who died relatively young. Here is a list of some prominent performers and how they died: Date Name Age Cause of Death 2005 Eddie Guerrero 38 Heart failure * 2003 Curt Hennig 44 Acute cocaine intoxication** 2002 David Smith 39 Heart attack*** 1999 Owen Hart 34 Accidental fall 1999 Rick Rude 40 Heart failure believed caused by overdose of GHB, steroids 1997 Brian Pillman 35 Heart attack**** * Guerrero had not used illict drugs and alcohol in four years prior to his death, but his prior lifestyle was widely blamed as a contributing factor. ** Hennig's father said a combination of steroids and painkillers contributed to his death. *** Smith's autopsy said steroid use may have played a role in his death. His brother-in-law Bruce Hart said Smith "paid the price" for using. **** Pillman, a former NFL player, had a prior history of abusing steroids and painkillers. Investigators said they found steroids in the house and want to know whether the muscle man nicknamed "The Canadian Crippler" was unhinged by the bodybuilding drugs, which can cause paranoia, depression and explosive outbursts known as "roid rage." Steroids have been linked to the deaths of several professional wrestlers in recent years. Benoit received drug deliveries from a Florida business that sold steroids, human growth hormone and testosterone on the Internet, according to the Albany County, N.Y., District Attorney's Office, which is investigating the business, MedXLife.com. Six people, including two of the pharmacy's owners, have pleaded guilty in the investigation, and 20 more have been arrested, including doctors and pharmacists. So is the new theory he killed himself to avoid being prosecuted of possession and use of steroids? Or where they for his kid? Could he not handle the heat and after seeing Angle get grilled in the media, THAT was his breaking point? To end it all there? Maybe he realized there was too much evidence of steroids and it would ruin his career so thinking it could not get worse he decided to kill himself and his family to make it easier? Not wanting to get into semantics, but he said the steroids found in the house had a presecription. But the receipts may be for steroids not in the house, perhaps already used? Either way I feel uneasy the way this is going, because if every wrestler who took steroids in the last 30 years did anything like this...well...
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Uh no... I posted this because if Benoit was getting steroids from this company and it played a role in the murders, the investigation is going to increase. And if Benoit was getting steroids from them, my guess would be a large part of the roster was as well. It could lead to an entirely new steroids investigation that blows away the one from 1994. Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Saying that he had a prescription is a paper thin excuse. There is no reason that he should be on anabolic steroids for a neck injury that occurred more than 5 years ago. Him, his doctor and the on-line company are all crooked and they are going to pay for it. I believe that the WWE Wellness policy excuses wrestlers who have a prescription. That is going to come under intense scrutiny because everyone knows its a loophole.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Idea? the kid was mentally retarded. There is no theory on that one. As for the crossface thing, the kid was tiny. Fucking dwarfish. He was too small for him to do that. Rear naked choke is most probably what was used, with the lack of bruising on the kid. You know, i watched the tribute show last night, as I didn't get a chance to see it on Monday, and honestly, not one bit of it hit me as disturbing. you saw some matches with the guy, you saw the people that spent almost every waking moment with him for the past few years being completely honest about what he meant to their lives. Do I believe that he loved his family? Yeah, I do. I think he probably was a good father (don't know about husband). But the fucker went psycho and killed them all. I know you guys are saying we don't know him and all that shit, but the kind of asshole that always had this type of violence in them doesn't start off by killing his wife and a 7 year old. You have guys that knew him that said they never knew him to lose his temper, let alone do this and I don't think they are just feeding bullshit. The guy they knew wasn't the same guy who choked his wife with a cable cord and suffocated his son.
tigeraid 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Regardless of the details coming out, I still refuse to believe Benoit has been a sadistic freak his entire life. I really think Eddie Guerrero's death impacted him huge, many wrestlers mentioned he hadn't been right since then. Something snapped, and I'm sure the roids and drugs just made it worse. But I refuse to believe the Benoit who celebrated with his family in the ring after winning the World Title was the same Benoit who killed them last weekend. There are no excuses, he deserved to either die or spend life in prison regardless, but this was a result of a guy snapping due to stress, drugs and more stress, not a life-long piece of crap.
