Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

TMZ has learned more about the deaths of WWE wrestling superstar Chris Benoit, his wife and son -- and the information is extremely disturbing.

Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ Benoit may have strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. Investigators refuse to officially comment, pending final confirmation by the coroner on the cause and time of the deaths.

One source told TMZ that Benoit was texting friends during Sunday's WWE "Vengeance" Pay-Per-View program -- possibly watching the show with his son, who may have been alive at the time.

According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself Monday in a weight room inside the family home.

A police investigation is ongoing.

Still wouldn't class as "bizarre" and, given the circumstances, not really "heinous" or "horrible" (not more than normal).

This has more to it stil...

I came across this a bit ago and found it somewhat interesting....

Having an off thyroid can lead to things such as mental breakdowns. In fact, my mom even went through one, as well as her half-sister years before. Prolonged usage of steroids can lead to thyroid issues, which is often the reason why users get a bloated look as they get older. Sometimes, it can get quite serious, such as in Raven's case. Perhaps Benoit had a thyroid issue, which led to mental instablity.

Here is more info the guy posted.

QUOTE

Steroids on thyroid - http://sportsci.org/encyc/anabstereff/anabstereff.html

AS use may affect thyroid function. Administration of AS has been found to decrease thyroid stimulation hormone (TSH), and the products of the thyroid gland. In addition, thyroid binding globulin (TBG). These changes reversed within weeks after discontinuation of AS use.

Thyroid on mental stability - http://www.thyroid.ca/Articles/EngE10F.html

People with an overactive thyroid may exhibit marked anxiety and tension, emotional lability, impatience and irritability, distractible overactivity, exaggerated sensitivity to noise, and fluctuating depression with sadness and problems with sleep and the appetite. In extreme cases, they may appear schizophrenic, losing touch with reality and becoming delirious or hallucinating.

That's exactly the sort of speculation that makes this all foolish.

there is nothing wrong with wondering what happened and discussing it as long as you don't try to present it as fact. So please spare us the self-righteous act

It is speculated that Benoit killed Nancy in the heat of an argument, possibly about her leaving him with their son. Then, as his son wakes the next morning, Chris decides to kill him as well.

What happened in the hours in between the deaths and his suicide is not known, but it is known that Benoit never left the house during this time. He stayed in there with their corpses for almost 24 hours before finally making the decision to kill himself rather than face prosecution.

Doesn't sound good at all. Just hope that's been badly phrased.

It's not self-righteous. Someone has a second cousin that has something to add and all the sudden it's the truth of the moment. It's stupid.

I deleted this before, but what the hell:

http://rated-m.blogspot.com/

Police confirmed this morning to ABC that this is in fact a double homicde/suicide investigation.

Also revealed were the following gruesome facts:

All 3 were found in seperate rooms. Time of death places benoit murdering Nancy first Saturday night. He then murdered his son sometime Sunday morning. Then almost 24 hours later, he commits suicide. Benoit's body was found in his personal weight room.

Sources inside WWE told ABC that Saturday night, Benoit sounded calm on the phone, and really only described his situation as a "family emergency". Benoit, who was supposed to win the ECW belt that Sunday at the PPV, turned the belt down and said something along the lines of "I don't want it, give it to someone else". And WWE did just that. Johnny Nitro, who took benoit's place in the ring, got the belt Benoit was supposed to get.

Several major news media outlets outright refused to even look at this story at first, believing it was indeed another hoax like McMahon's death. However, with TMZ.com, ABC, and CNN covering it now, this story has broke wide open. There are plans this week for coverage of this case on CNN's nancy Grace.

Autopsy results are due later today.

More as this breaks.

The thing is, unless there is a note detailing all of it, all that is left is figuring out the time of deaths. If the son and the Nancy died during the weekend, there is no way they know time of death this soon. The body temp would have dropped too low by now to determine on site. If there is no note, they are probably gathering that it is a murder suicide because beniot had been in the house for the past three days and there were two cold bodies and one warm one.

Alot of stuff could have happened. he could have found them dead went nuts and took 3 days to kill himself. He could have killed them and killed himself. There is no way to know really. And with all the speculation, I would guess there was no suicide note.

So until the tox reports come back and they have a definate time of death, all the speculating will be for nothing.

There are more ways to determine time of death in the short term than just body temp. Once a person is dead, the body goes through certain transformations/decay, some of which I'm sure are almost immediate. And the degree to which those changes occur can give a clue on the time of death. So its not just about body temp.

That's sick.

I dunno. To me, it would've been more sick if he'd been watching the PPV with his son, who may have been dead at the time.

Its not exactly just body temp but the temp of the liver. And the transfomations/decay which you speak of, in the first 48 hours in a climate controlled home would make it pretty hard/damn near impossible to make a determination off of that. Plus other things would factor in, like was the son under a blanket which could make his liver temp higher making it seem like he was alive longer.

My point is the time of deaths that were being said were exacts and that just wasn't possible in the time that they were being reported. The liver will lose about 1 degree per hour after death, and if they were dead well over 24 hours, onsite forensics wouldn't have been able to give a accurate time.

If they are saying Nancy was killed on Saturday night and Daniel Sunday morning, something as simple as Daniel being in his bed under the covers and how he died could make it seem as though he died second in initial reports when he could have died first. Thats why stuff like this takes awhile. Alot of factors have to be determined. Its not like CSI where they know within a few seconds because they are so "good".

Yes I know this worthless info because this is the crap I wanted to do at one point until I realized that having to go to a crime scene where a babys head was bashed in could severly fuck with my psyche, changed schools and became a computer animator.

That is just so wrong on so many levels. Did he hear those "We want Benoit" chants? In the mental state he was, I hope that didn't contribute to anything.

Superstar wrestler Chris Benoit and his wife went through a period of turbulence early in their marriage that included her claiming domestic abuse and filing for divorce, court records show.

The couple and their 7-year-old son were found dead Monday in their home on Green Meadow Lane just east of Peachtree City. Police said it was a murder-suicide. Nancy Benoit and her son, Daniel, were killed during the weekend and Benoit died Monday, police said.

The couple, who had lived together since 1997 and were married in 2000, had separated when Nancy Benoit, a wrestling manager who worked under the stage name "Woman," filed for divorce in May 2003.

In the accompanying petition for protection from domestic abuse, Nancy Benoit, 43, claimed she was intimidated by threats of violence from her 40-year-old, 5-foot-10, 220-pound husband, who was known as the "Canadian Crippler."

Benoit, the petition said, "lost his temper and threatened to strike the petitioner and cause extensive damage to the home and personal belongings of the parties, including furniture and furnishings. Petitioner is in reasonable fear for petitioner's own safety and that of the minor child."

In another count, she claimed Benoit had destroyed furniture in the home.

On May 12, 2003, the same day the divorce and protective order petitions were submitted, a judge issued a restraining order against the wrestler and barred him from the family home in Peachtree City.

On Aug. 19, 2003, Nancy Benoit filed to have the divorce and protective petitions dismissed, and both were.
