WWE General Discussion for July 2007

Recommended Posts

Even though it hasn't started yet, WWE is still going through with the 'Jackass' angle for SummerSlam. However, Bam Margera and Ryan Dunn have pulled out of it. Margera pulled out due to an injury and Dunn pulled out because Margera pulled out. Steve-O will be the leader of the group.

LOL.....I just liked how the report made Bam Margera sound like a pussy...which well isn't shocking then turned and basically called Ryan Dunn a fag that won't do anything without Bam.

I laughed reading it.

Yeah, that's almost exactly how they made it sound.

Well I was embellishing some but the Dunn won't do anything without Margera is a little gay if you ask me.........pulling out of major pub because another guy did is well kinda weird.

Any idea where Lashley will go now? Is it a feud with Carlito? I'm pretty sure he'll be somewhere on the Summerslam card, but against who though, is the big question.

I could see them have a match on Raw, but I would assume something more significant for Lashley than that at SS. I hate to say it, but Snitsky?

i dont know, i actually think its gonna be Lashley/Carlito at Summerslam, because these are our top matches on the Raw side for Summerslam:

Cena/Orton

Booker/Lawler or Triple H

Lashley/Carlito (unless they decide to feed Kennedy to him)

Umaga/Jeff Hardy

PWI is reporting a top SummerSlam match has been called off. I take it Jackass will no longer be appearing.

Hallelujah!!!

What happened that made them re-release the 3-disc ultimate edition of Wrestlemania 23. The new cover art has a big sticker over Donald Trump:

- There has been reports that TNA Wrestler Lance Hoyt has shown some interest in joining World Wrestling Entertainment. Hoyt claims that he can leave the TNA promotion with ease. Latest reports say talks are on going.

- There are reports several WWE staff members have been having frequent meetings. In these meetings they have discussed promotion related topics. What the World Wrestling Entertainment wants to accomplish is to find younger talent to deal with day to day operations for arranging bouts in all title divisions. Their goals are to have talent of youth to incorporate their ideas into the WWE storyline in hope of fresh ideas that may be appealing to the fans. Court Bauer left World Wrestling Entertainment's creative team last week. Bauer had been recently working on the Smackdown creative team. Based on what is known right now, when Dusty Rhodes was moved over to working for the ECW brand, Bauer and Michael Hayes were said to have disagreed a lot creatively. As a result of being frustrated for some time, Bauer made the decision to give his notice and he finished up with the company last week. For those who remember, a similar situation also took place with another writer named Andrew Goldstein who also had problems working with Michael Hayes. Goldstein was reportedly given a lot of credit internally for helping to turn around the Smackdown brand last year, but was then dropped by the company after "butting heads" with Hayes over creative issues. Goldstein is now working as a TV producer for MTV.

- As of late, Vince McMahon has been talking about how they need to give Chris Masters a push. The feeling is that McMahon is either oblivious or he doesn't care as to how a Masters push may look to the public. It's said Vince is beyond set in his ways in regard to pushing a muscular talent and won't even attempt to change things.

- As things stand now, Rey Mysterio is scheduled to make his return at this Tuesday's SmackDown tapings in Fresno, CA. He was happy with how the test run on his knee during the Mexico tour two weeks ago went. His cardio wasn't up to snuff yet, but he figured with two more weeks of training he'd be ready to return to the ring full-time. Rey asked to work a program with Chavo Guerrero. It makes sense because Chavo is the one who put him out of action in the storyline when he used chair shot after chair shot to his knee. That made him quit and have surgery according to the storyline. In reality, he'd been needing the knee surgery for quite some time.

to quote Professor Farnsworth from Futurama, GOOD NEWS EVERYONE:

As we saw on RAW last night, it appeared RAW setup Umaga vs. Jeff Hardy for SummerSlam, and that match will indeed go down. The planned Jackass vs. Umaga match has been cancelled. Sometime during the last week the deal fell apart. WWE had planned on some of the Jackass guys being at the Great American Bash PPV and do some of their stunts on Umaga all night and end up costing Umaga the title in the Hardy match which would have setup Umaga vs. Jackass at Summerslam.

Johnny Noxville had planned to do a few TV appearances for WWE leading up to the SummerSlam PPV but after the Benoit family tragedy happened, Jackass and Knoxville started distancing themselves from WWE. It started out with a few promised TV and PPV appearances, then it came down to Jackass only working the SummerSlam PPV then it ended with the whole idea being scrapped.

Once Knoxville pulled out, WWE decided to scrap the idea altogether. Originally WWE had planned on the Jackass crew defeating Umaga in the match.

WWE TAKES AWAY BEER FROM SANDMAN'S ENTRANCE

As you probably noticed on Raw last night, The Sandman was without his trademarked beer during his entrance. WWE told Sandman that he could no longer chug or smash beer around in the crowd during his entrance. The main reason was due to complaints made to USA Network that children were being closely exposed to beer.

...and these people never complained during Stone Cold's heyday, why?

As of late, Vince McMahon has been talking about how they need to give Chris Masters a push.

1.This requires either extreme ignorance or apathy. And since I can't believe that a successful self-made millionaire like McMahon doesn't know, I'm forced to conclude that he just doesn't care.

2.Masters doesn't have the Unbroken Superhold anymore (that would be Cena's sloppy STF), he can neither talk nor wrestle, and managed to get himself hooked on both pain pills and hormones at a startlingly young age, so exactly how/why would they push him?

Also, I find it incredibly ironic that people looked at Sandman, a guy who holds a weapon in one hand and a beer in the other, and thought the beer was the more offensive of the two.

I'm sure if he managed to swing the weapon around at the crowd Stan Hansen like, they might have been offended. But it really isn't good to have some guy spitting beer into a crowd of potential kids. Let him do that stuff in the ring.

I'm surprised it went on this long.

Personally, I'd be more upset that some dude was spewing any random liquid all over me than be upset that the liquid was alcoholic.

HHH is a martial arts master. He trained with Mr. Miyagi back in the 80's and became the most lethal fighter in history.

As of late, Vince McMahon has been talking about how they need to give Chris Masters a push.

Yeah, they could have done that about oh...two months ago when Masters SHOULD have kicked Marella's ass to become the IC champion, but nooooooooooo...that didn't happen and Masters got sent to SD to accomplish nothing.

Is that a sticker on the WM 23 DVD case, or did they put a graphic over Trump? If its a graphic, then that makes no sense. If they didn't want to promote Trump, then just go with another cover, and mention there is a hair Vs. hair match somewhere on the cover

A follow up to something I posted earlier..

- Jamie Noble is now a road agent in WWE. They want to put him charge of helping the cruiserweights put together their matches. He was put in the position because the majority of the current road agents are guys from the 70s and 80s, now in their late 40s & 50s, and they still have the mentality of how to work and what the fans want from that era. They needed someone more in touch with what's going on today.

This could be a very good thing. The downside is that we see even less of Noble in the ring.

On the plus side, if he does a good enough job, he could get an official Road Agent job and get all the benefits that actual WWE employees get.
