He said it was passable, not that he enjoyed it. Thank you for pointing that out. I think I've mentioned it at least 4 times that I thought it was passable and not the worst thing when he was himself. Some people try to find criticism in everything people say. And god forbid that I'm not a fan of Ric Flair since everyone has to be a fan of his. He bores the shit out of me. I never was a fan of his and don't care when he's on my TV, that's if I'm even watching WWE programing.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 To be honest, I'm not a gigantic Flair fan either. There are other guys from the '80s I'd rather watch. That said, I still found his book very entertaining. He explains a lot about what went on in WCW in the late '80s and early '90s that I wasn't that familiar with. Mecca 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 The Hulkster's Bling Burgled! TMZ has learned that Hulk Hogan's Miami Beach home was robbed of $100,000 worth of jewelry just last night. Damn! The Hulkster and his family were in the process of moving out of their home, when the jewelry was reportedly taken from right under their nose. Some of the pricey gems that have gone missing include a diamond-encrusted watch and two gold chains. Sources close to the Hogans tell TMZ that the family was in the middle of moving to a new Hulk-palace when they discovered that the jewelry was gone. Someone took down the Hulkster... Mecca 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 Latest in the Benoit case is that Manny Arora, the attorney for both Dr. Phil Astin and Pacman Jones (hell of a gig these days) has asked a judge to throw out evidence seized in Astin's office the first time it was searched. He's claiming that besides Benoit's files, they seized three years' worth of bank records, two computers, and the files of six other patients. He actually asked for all evidence seized that day to be thrown out, and at the very least anything not directly relating to Benoit. He claims the "search was done without probable cause" and "grossly exceeded the scope of evidence sought and authorized to be seized." Astin is aware that a superseding indictment with new charges is coming. "They haven't indicated anything to me as far as what the additional charges would be, but I would imagine it would be more of the same. I can't predict what it is they plan to do, but I can't imagine there would be any evidentiary basis to try to blame Dr. Astin for the murder-suicide," he said. Astin's office was also raided on June 29th and July 9th, plus his mom's house was raided on the 29th and a storage facility he rented was raided on July 6th. At this point, Arora is only asking for evidence seized in the first raid, on the 27th, to be tossed. WWE released Sylvan Grenier and Tomasso Whitney this week. Tomasso was a developmental guy working in OVW. Grenier was the latest victim of the "get a new push and immediately get fired syndrome". Well, it wasn't really a push, but he did return to Smackdown on Friday night and had a way more competitive match with Kane than I would have figured. He was the last remnant of La Resistance still employed, which was quite the irony since for a long time he was the least talented of the three. There had been talk of reuniting them for some time, and in fact Rob Conway had just received his new gear in the mail when he was told he was fired, the excuse being that creative didn't have anything for him. Oops. Rene Dupre was also fired recently after being sent to rehab for at least the second time. Grenier, who was discovered by Pat Patterson back when he was doing modeling, debuted with the company in the early 00s doing the heel ref gimmick, then ended up bulking up and wrestling. He was horrible for a long, long time, but eventually improved to the point where he was a passable singles wrestler. Recently, he'd been working singles matches on the road with Maryse as his manager. Never heard anything about the act having any sort of spark, which is saying something since she's ungodly hot. The loss of Dupre may have been the straw that broke the camel's back. Shantelle Taylor was also released this week. She'd been working the Florida territory. They told her they had no ideas for her. She was a pretty girl, though she didn't have the usual WWE fake Barbie doll look. For awhile, they were putting her under a mask and having her work matches as a male luchador. That's actually a really interesting gimmick and I have no idea why they didn't at least give it a try on Smackdown. I think a mask vs. mask match down the road where she unmasked as a woman would have been a really cool moment, but that's all out the window now unless they have someone else they want to try it with. Tank Toland is no longer teaching the beginning class at OVW, having been replaced by Joey Matthews, formerly Joey Mercury. Matthews was fired from WWE earlier this year when he showed up in catering in no condition to perform, shortly after having served a stint in rehab Lacey Adkisson, 21, a very pretty model and the daughter of Kerry Von Erich, was signed this week. She's already been sent to Florida Championship Wrestling. They also pushed back the release of the World Class DVD to October (it was scheduled out this month), so either they want to do a tie-in with her on TV prior to the release or they want to get some additional footage/interviews with her to insert. I hope all goes well because I'm leery of any further Von Erichs getting into this business. I'm actually leery of any daughters or females in general getting into this business, but there's not much that can be done about that A BBC film crew visited OVW and DCW this week, both to look at the Derby City developmental developmental concept, and also because there are a ton of British guys working in OVW. Speaking of Derby City, after Aaron Stevens was released from his WWE contract, he went to Rip Rogers and asked if he could join his intermediate class and work on Derby City TV. In other Derby City news, WWE has been watching the tapes and were impressed enough with announcer Timmy Baltimore that they invited him to Smackdown Tuesday night for a tryout as a backstage interviewer. No word at press time on how it went. Lashley's surgery was a success last Tuesday. He'll be out three to five months. He had been suffering from a shoulder injury since around March of this year, but was told he could probably gut it out for awhile. He injured it again during a house show match two weeks back. They didn't know the extent of the damage but feared the worse, so on Raw the following Monday they did the angle where Kennedy kicked his shoulder into the steel steps, destroyed it throughout the match, and then got the clean pin. The fear was that Lashley had a torn rotator cuff and would be out until 2008, and thus the clean pin was a way to try to further strap the rocket to Kennedy's ass. Lashley had surgery two days later. The good news was that it was not a torn rotator cuff. The bad news was that there was severe damage, more than an arthroscopic scope could fix. So he'll be on the shelf probably until late 2007/early 2008. There is talk of Iron Sheik guest hosting a show on Howard Stern's Sirius channel every six weeks or so. In what they are claiming is a cost-cutting measure, which is hilarious if you take a look at the latest financials, WWE is apparently no longer going to be putting name plates on the championship belts. They're even taking it off the big gold belt that Ric Flair used to wear, which is a tragedy. credit:F4W Newsletter
Mecca 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 You all remember Amy Zidian right........she looked like this.... Now she looks like this..... If you wanna see more just go here.....http://www.imagestation.com/album/index.html?id=2088560715 She obviously a little bigger now, I wouldn't consider her fat but it looks like she gained 10 lbs of head weight its very weird. Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 Shantelle under a mask wrestling as a male would never work in the internet smark age. I find two things interesting about that idea - A]They thought she was good enough in the ring to pull off working with the cruiser boys and B]She's flatchested enough to pass as a male. I guess we know where the wwe priorities are (like we needed the reminder).

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 A couple of notes from the latest F4Daily: Mark Henry's contract is up soon and at this point he's not expected to renew, though it's not known if he does intend to leave or if it's a negotiating tactic. Undertaker will return at Unforgiven against Mark Henry. Vince had debated on whether to have Undertaker return at Summerslam, but decided to go with Unforgiven, partially because it was felt it would send a bad message to talent regarding coming back too soon from injury. Atticus Chaos 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2007 Inform me, I must've missed it. (For five years on & off I worked on an indy show that ran on Friday nights, so I rarely ever saw Smackdown.) In the space of two weeks she... Asked Vickie Guerrero "how did you get your job as a diva when the rest of us are in shape?' She was completely unaware of who Vickie was or about Eddie. Asked Layla El, how it felt to be hasbeen considering Amy was the one on tv getting a push and she'd been forgotten about it. Made fun of Kristal's hair extensions. Stephanie McMahon , prior to a promo was giving her advice, Amy asked who she was to tell her what to do, Steph informed her about who her father was and her position in the company. Amy rolled her eyes not believing her. As you can see she created some off screen memorable moments in her short time with the company.

Mecca 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2007 PWI news.... -King Booker is expected to sign a new 3-Year deal with World Wrestling Entertainment, keeping him employed in to 2010. It was uncertain for awhile if he would resign, as he was upset about being moved from the Smackdown brand and not getting the new developmental territory. But it is now expected he'll be re-signing. -From numerous sources, it seems inevitable now that Matt Sydal will be signing with WWE under a developmental deal. Word has begun making its way around the indies that he'll be on his way out very soon. -Stevie Richard's recent push is a direct result of him getting numerous great reviews from producers based on his house show matches as of late. He is regarded as one of the best sellers in the entire company by Vince McMahon in particular. -By October or November Big Daddy V will be moved to Smackdown to have feuds with top stars such as Batista and Rey Mysterio. He'll continue being built up as he is now as a total beast. This is more or less a mirror image of what they did with Snitsky before shipping him back to Raw. He shouldn't even be employed. Let alone getting pushed. Honestly? I'm loving the whole Big Daddy V thing he's got going on. That "worlds largest love machine" gimmick was fine for a little while, but just like the Sexual Chocolate run of Mark Henry, it got old real quick and he needed something new. As a big beast of a man, he plays the role pretty damn good. I can only assume he's going to SD because of the uncertainty of Henry resigning with the company and they'll need to replace the role he currently takes on the roster. As an aside, a Mark Henry/Big Daddy V team.. while, maybe not the most aestheically pleasing team (both on looks and possible work in ring) would/could be a solid team for the division. Mainly because I feel that the belts need a big team to hold 'em and those two could add something to the division...

Mecca 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2007 MR KENNEDY has hit back at the WWE's critics - insisting that, while there have been many drug problems in the wrestling business, the majority of today's stars are now clean. In the lengthiest interview with any current WWE employee since grappler Chris Benoit murdered his wife and child, Ken admits that he, like Benoit, took steroids. But he adds when the WWE introduced their Wellness Policy after the death of Eddie Guerrero in November 2005 it forced him to give them up. He told us: "I don't take steroids, but I have taken steroids in the past. "I never took a lot, but when I was working the independent scene I was trying everything I could. "I never took massive amounts of steroids and do you know why I stopped taking them? "Because of the Wellness Policy. "Because I knew that having a job with the WWE was way more important than the 10 pounds of extra muscle that the steroids gave me." In our world exclusive WrestleCast, below, Ken debates the issue with Radio 1's Manchester-born DJ Joel Ross and The Sun's wrestling correspondent, Londoner Simon 'LilsBoy' Rothstein. He concedes that some changes need to be made to stop more wrestlers dying and insists the WWE are working on that right now. However, Ken also slams the former superstars currently speaking out and insists that people are focussing too heavily on the "bad apples". The former United States champion then discusses his personal memories of Benoit and the shock that his pal turned out to be a murderer. thesun.co.uk
