DMann2003 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 "Did you just try to control my body with your white hands?"
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 "This has nothing to do with my childhood. I collect cookie jars because we had no cookie jars growing up. We had no cookie jars because mom didn't bake. Mom didn't bake because she didn't think we deserved cookies". "The jar says 'mom'" "I've always viewed it as an upside down 'wow'"
treble Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 "Borderline artistic" was great. I also liked the Planet Terror knock-off music during Catalina's dancing.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Darnell had the best story, easily.
C Dubya 04 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 My favorite line was when Earl said "Randy only uses a 17 letter alphabit, so I was a little surprised that he could write a better story than me." I thought that the Randy story was good and fit his character perfectly. The rest were kind of throw away bits, IMO, although the Darnell song made me think of Flight of the Conchords, which is good, I guess.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 "Where do you invest your money?" "...I have about 12 grand in checking..." "Are you an immigrant?"
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 30 Rock was great. Man, "Super Computer" (1975-1975) sure spun off a lot of shows.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I hope the last ep wasnt the end of Michael Rappaport's run on Earl...
Guest Gym Class Fallout Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 30 Rock was great. Man, "Super Computer" (1975-1975) sure spun off a lot of shows. I wish they had made a reference to Supertrain instead, one of the all-time television failures back from NBC's nadir. It was The Love Boat. On a train. And the train had a mall.
Downhome Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Oh yes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM80yW8ly9E I'm on the verge of starting a thread just for 30 Rock. The subtitle? "Never go with a hippie to a second location."
MDH257 Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 You're right, there should be a 30 Rock thread.
bob_barron Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 30 Rock was funny this week, but the show still isn't that good. Most of the episodes this year have been depressingly bad
Detox Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 30 Rock was funny this week, but the show still isn't that good. Most of the episodes this year have been depressingly bad 30 Rocc is great, they have pretty much swept up the bullshit that My Name Is Earl has dropped, I don't watch The Office though since I watch "The First 48" on A&E so I guess my opinion is null and void.
treble Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 30 Rock is usually pretty good, but it's about 90% due to Alec Baldwin.
Guest Pizza Hut's Game Face Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I feel that My Name Is Earl has really lost its way.
treble Posted November 2, 2007 Author Report Posted November 2, 2007 I think it's been pretty good this season, but I really don't like these Cops episodes. Really, none of the flashback episodes they've done over the past 2 seasons are that great compared to the regular ones.
Spaceman Spiff Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 The "thermal vision camera" bit w/ Earl/Joy/Randy/Crabman was the best part of this episode.
bob_barron Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I love the Cops episodes. This was easily one of my favourite episodes ever
Guest Pizza Hut's Game Face Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I can't do hour-long Earl, I guess. Just lost interest.
bob_barron Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I disagree, everything tonight had me laughing my ass off. I hope this becomes an annual thing
Dandy Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I still enjoy the Earl episodes, but they clearly didn't have enough prison material to fill up the season, so they are stretching it out with flashbacks and other stuff. I figured Ribisi's character would have been recaptured by now, and they would have a few more people Earl needed to help in jail. I really thought this would be a good time to have Earl not be able to help people during the same show and change up the formula just a smidge.
treble Posted November 2, 2007 Author Report Posted November 2, 2007 I can understand why they needed to do flashback episodes last season, with Pressly being pregnant, but I think they can cut it out now. Speaking of that, when is Joy going to crank out that kid?
Spaceman Spiff Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 Looks like in 2 weeks (probably, according to my on screen guide).
BlackFlagg Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 "I'm Sikh." "I hope you feel better." But what's with Darnell's grandmother living in Camden? Kinda goes against his whole witness protection storyline..
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 "You better stay out of the sun. You're on the bubble."
Craig Th Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 God, Earl needs to get out of prison and continue with his list. I'm getting sick of this season so far.
bob_barron Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 This episode really had nothing to do with him being in prison though. It's like an annual tradition to do a Cops episode
MDH257 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 The writer's do seem to have quickly tired of "Earl in Prison". They've found a way to get Earl out of prison in half the episodes this season(flashback, fantasy sequences, etc.). But what's with Darnell's grandmother living in Camden? Kinda goes against his whole witness protection storyline.. Didn't they have a flashback to Darnell living with her in Season 1? Regardless, that and his Family being at his and Joy's wedding is an inconsistancy they've never explained.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 It was good to see Mimi, Timothy Stack and Mike O'Malley. MNIE is almost like the Simpsons in terms of the number of characters who make regular appearances. The Cops episode was funny..but..it would have been better in 2 parts on seperate nights instead of all at once. Next week is an Earl in Prison episode..
