I love how they put two shitty stips next to HIAC, just to assure that it ends up with that match. Cyber Taboo Day has lasted its usefulness as a PPV. It's better suited for a live special and WWE knows that as well.

Batista v. Undertaker v. Khali v. Mark Henry

Ref: Austin, Foley or Piper

Isn't that match one of the conditions required to bring about the end of the world?

What do Austin, Piper, and Foley have to do with the SD ME scene?

I'll assume the idea will be that with no GM in place, they need a "legend" to keep that match in order. I bet Austin gets to stun Khali and Henry.

I heard the pick a ref stip was the other option for the Cena/Orton match. Maybe they figured it might stand a real chance of beating hell in a cell so it had to go. I'm guessing they'll go with anywhere falls for the 3 rd option for Cena/Orton, it sounds intresting enough but you know it doesn't have a shot at getting more votes than HIAC.

Considering they're the only ones that have access to the voting, I'm not exactly sure why they stack the choices to lead it one way or the other.

That said, how do you finish a Last Man Standing match in such a way that HIAC is required? Jericho return run-in?

You honestly don't think it's fixed?

Out of curiosity, what makes everyone think it's fixed? I mean, I wouldn't put it pasted them, but why is everyone so sure it is? Do you think they would have picked Shelton instead of Batista to face Jericho, a jobberiffic Matt Hardy on Team Smackdown, and well... that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I think the fact that the choices are so heavily biased should lead us to believe otherwise.

What I meant was in pushing to the fans, they condition the fans to ignore the possibility of the other options. It's rigged by manipulation.

Because it's professional wrestling. If the results are predetermined, one would think the participants of the match are predetermined.

I don't think the actual voting itself is fixed but they weigh the options so obviously in one way that people can't help but vote for what WWE wants. The one exception is the Matt Hardy deal but WWE was just foolish there to think JBL would win over him.

Clearly, the IWC should create a movement to stuff the ballot box and rally around a none-HITC choice for Orton-Cena to teach the WWE a lesson.

What's the lesson? That you should give fans even less of a voice than they already have?

I always thought this would be funny, but it's impossible. There's too many mark votes out there.

As far as rigging goes, I'm pretty sure Gail Kim said it wasn't rigged in a shoot interview. She talked about how the divas had to have three different costumes ready for the fantasy battle royal or whatever. Only time I recall WWE really getting in a bind over a Taboo Tuesday vote was for the Snitsky/Kane weapon on a pole match. They set up a feud based around using the chair, but the fans voted for a chain to be on the pole instead. As I recall, the match ended on a chair spot anyway.

There's a huge difference between "Wait and see what outfit you have to wear, Gail" and "OK, who's going to be wrestling for the IC title tonight?"

Plus, I'm guessing the HIAC structure isn't cheap to drag around/construct so they're really going to want to use it if they bring it out of the warehouse.

Does anyone know how many Hell in the Cell matches they've done per year since its inception? oldskool has me wondering if they do in fact store it somewhere. I always assumed that WWE was like a traveling circus, where outside of the "main office," where they do the paperwork, everything is on the road at all times.

I always assumed that WWE was like a traveling circus, where outside of the "main office," where they do the paperwork, everything is on the road at all times.

Let's see...

HBK/Taker - 97

Austin/Taker vs. Kane/Mankind - 98 (match never officially started)

Taker/Mankind - 98

Kane/Mankind - 98

Taker/Bossman - 99

HHH/Cactus Jack - 00

Angle/Austin/Taker/Rock/HHH/Rikishi - 00

HHH/Jericho - 02

Brock/Taker - 02

HHH/Nash - 03

HHH/HBK - 04

HHH/Batista - 05

Taker/Orton - 05

DX vs. Vince/Shane/Big Show - 06

I don't know if you'd count the kinnel match between Bossman/Snow from Unforgiven 99. It did feature the cell.

Yeah, because I just want to know how many times they used the structure. So, that's definitely fewer than I realized. I wonder where they keep it, because it doesn't make sense to haul it everywhere.

Probably some warehouse space that they have where they probably store/construct stages and such for PPV's etc.

Quite possibly the same warehouse they used for Tough Enough. In one of Jim Cornette's shoot interviews, he alluded to the fact that before OVW - the WWE was training out of a warehouse at the same time construction and other things were happening.

They have a few of those trucks, I wouldn't be surprised if they just carried it around. It couldn't take up that much space. The EC is probably stored at a warehouse somewhere in CT.

Didn't they have the Cell once on RAW solely for a Foley interview? Before Nash/Trips?

Twice actually.

Once in 98 before his match w/ taker at KOTR. Mankind fought Billy Gunn after the promo and lifted the cage back up.

And yeah, they did it in 2003 also for the Evolution vs. Nash/HBK/Foley hoopla that ended RAW.

I remember HBK taking out Orton and Flair w/ a sick dive through the ropes.

Too bad they have to waste HIAC on a shitty PPV. Should have waited for SSeries or Armageddon instead.

That said, how do you finish a Last Man Standing match in such a way that HIAC is required?

Prediction

Justin Roberts: Ladies and gentlemen, since both participants were unable to make the 10 count, this match has been declared a DRAW!

Chicago fans : BOO! BULLSHIT! BULLSHIT! BULLSHIT!

That's what they seem be doing these days. They put the gimmick match on smaller PPVs try to increase buys on those. But keep big name PPVS to just matches try to sell em on Name alone.
