Kinetic 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 How do you take your eggs? At restaraunts, I usually get them sunny-side up. At home, I usually scramble them. On special occassions, I'll boil a handful of eggs and then struggle peeling them for half an hour. It's worth it. Eggs rock.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I usually take them scrambled but when I'm feeling a little nutty I like 'em over easy. Boiled eggs are also good on occassion. I haven't had one in too long.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 When I am making something like eggs & toast, I get them over-easy, which is basically sunny-side up but then flipped for about 30 seconds to get rid of any of the transparent/uncooked part of the whites. I am the only person I know that likes to put an over-easy egg or two over some chilli. It sounds gross, but hey if you like eggs and chilli it is damn good. I have an omelete pan and sometimes make omeletes. Deviled Eggs are the shit too. I have a co-worker that raises chickens and he sometimes gives me some kick-ass brown eggs. Yeah, I like eggs. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I liked them scrambled when I was a kid but now I like to break the yolk and dip my toast/bagel/english muffin in it. For me a good egg isn't complete without salt and pepper. Ketchup is optional.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I'm quite picky on eggs. Scrambled all the time, always, no exceptions (this includes omelets). Ketchup on eggs makes me ill. My brother likes that, and I had to physically threaten him if he ever made it when I was even in the house. Strangely though, I love salsa. That sort of southwest omelet... salsa, sour creme, peppers, shit like that. Now that's awesome.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I also hate ketchup with eggs, which is weird considering I used to eat ketchup with everything, including bacon. Preferrably over easy, sometimes if it's scrambled I like to put some hot sauce in it in addition to the salt and pepper. Everybody should love eggs, they're easy to make and taste great. It sounds gross, but hey if you like eggs and chilli it is damn good. Go on. Just add it on top after I ladled the bowl out? I do like eggs and chili quite a bit, so this sounds kinda gross, but interesting gross, not ewwwwww gross, if that makes any sense. By the way, your pineapple pork chili was awesome. King Kamala 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I'm with the people who think ketchup on eggs is absolutely disgusting. Whenever we stayed over my grandma's house when the parents were out of town- she made us scrambled eggs with ketchup. Even as a ketchup lovin' snot nosed brat, I didn't like ketchup on eggs. Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I only put pepper on my scrambled eggs. I looooooooove deviled eggs. Those are so damn good.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 What's the consensus here on egg salad? I've got mixed feelings about it. Most of the time I have it it's pretty good but I have had a bad egg salad sandwich here and there. That and they make me gassy.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I cook in pepper and occasionally some red pepper flakes. Ketchup, always. Unless in a breakfast burrito, which I've mentioned before, then it's usually salsa or taco sauce. I'm lazy, so fuck that separate mixing container shit, I mix everything directly in the pan. I like sunny side up/over easy when frying so I can dip whatever into the remains later. I love egg salad, but it's a bitch to make since I hate boiling and peeling. Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Gotta go with over-medium (so it's fully cooked with no transparent stuff like nocalmike) or scrambled. Gotta have salt and pepper, and if its over medium, you gotta scoop up the eggs and eat them on the toast.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I hate liquid egg. Scrambled, omelette, or not at all. Coincidentally, I have an egg hookup where I get farm fresh badass eggs for a dollar a dozen. As a result, I have about 40 eggs in my fridge. Should I attempt quiche? Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Not a big egg person . I like hard-boiled eggs and deviled eggs, but don't like any other versions.
Dandy 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I like all types of eggs. Pepper only on mine, as I rarely add salt to anything. One time, I decided to make a "boiled egg omelette" as I called it. I did not whisk the eggs before putting them in the pan, and after topping the omelette, I carefully flipped one half on top of the other. I would say it came it pretty well for an experiment. Another question...how common is it on here to whisk in a little milk before scrambling your eggs?

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Yes, eggs are incredible. At home, I usually make them sunny-side up or overeasy with toast, or scrambled wit soyrizo (carnivores here can use chorizo instead, of course, but it takes longer to cook). Hard-boiled is awesome to take to work, and I used to have this toaster that made you an egg breakfast sandwich- Like it had one part that could cook a poached egg at the same time that it would toast your english muffin, then everything would come out at the same time, so you could just pop it out and then just throw some cheese on it and enjoy. Wait, this is it right here- Hell of a good buy. I think they sell it at Target.

Maztinho 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 My friend got me into making a hole in some bread and frying an egg in the hole while toasting the bread. Tasty. I'm pretty basic, scrambled is my preference or over-medium if in the aforementioned Bread Hole. Heh... bread hole. Also always add some milk in the scrambling and ketchup is acceptable only if it's overflow from the hash browns.

If I am using canned chilli, just dump the chilli into a bowl and nuke it. Then I usually use one of those smaller sized pans that can fit about 2 eggs in them, so when I go to flip the eggs to make them over easy, I can flip the entire thing at once like a pancake(rather then using the spatula to make it into two seperate flipped eggs) and then once they are done, I take them straight from pan to chilli bowl..... Oh and thanks on the pineapple pork chilli, I entered into a company cook-off a few years back and came in second, I lost out to a chick that made a really standard chilli but added 2 pound of bacon too it, and I guess the judges couldn't resist the bacon goodness, haha. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Scrambled or fried with anything (preferably toast, waffles, pancakes, plantains, fried salami, arepas, all day). I don't put ketchup on them when they're scrambled but I don't mind it. I'll have boiled eggs with mashed potatoes.
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Strangely though, I love salsa. Salsa on scrambled eggs is the best.
Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Scrambled eggs can go with ketchup. Though, I prefer sunny side up with toast. MMM, there's no better way to eat your toast. Which is why they should come out with egg spread, if they haven't already. If they can get it to taste authentic, I'd always buy that shit for my toast. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I like egg salad, but I am afraid to make too much that will last more then a couple of days....I get the willies when egg salad gets that crystalized look on it from being in the fridge too long.....

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 Few things: First, nocalmike. No problem on the chili. Don't refer to chili cook-offs, however, in mixed presence. A similar argument once led to me likening my mother to Hitler. Also, what happened with the upconverting dvd player I pm'ed you about? (I hate when people refer to dvd players as simply 'dvds')? I'm no longer interested anyway, I've decided since the bulk of my dvd viewings are wrestling and porn, that I'm probably better off without. I'd also like to offer there's very little salsa doesn't improve. Italian sausage is an excellent example.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 Over-hard (probably the same thing as sfaJack's post) and hard-boiled. V-X -- do you use the bacon slot on that thing for something? I've seen that device at several stores but for some reason it seems to be more trouble (prep, cleanup) than its worth.
