Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted December 13, 2007 I'm interested in the discrepancies between the MLB list and the WNBC list. I wonder if the Brewers are going to try and find a way out of that Gagne contract. Oops.

I wonder if the Brewers are going to try and find a way out of that Gagne contract. Oops. If they saw him pitch as a Red Sox and signed him, nothing Gagne could do would make the Brewers opt out of it.
Guest RyechnaiaSobaka Report post Posted December 13, 2007 I think it was unfortunate to see names like Gregg Zaun on this list, but the one that hit me in the gut was Jack Cust. I've been a big Jack Cust fan since he kicked ass last year with the Athletics. Now I don't know whether he did it on his own or whether he was using then too. I should have figured that he had done them from a few years ago, like 2004 I guess it was, when he and Segui were competing to see who would be the DH on the Orioles. But I guess I never connected them before today.
Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted December 13, 2007 The Orioles it seems are a really dirty team. Eric Gagne is too listy for me. Take him. I feel the same about Brian Roberts, by the way. He's way too listy. Between Palmiero, Tejada, and Roberts, there's clearly more than just one kind of shooting going on in Baltimore. Obv. Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted December 13, 2007 Yeah, you'd think the minority owner of the Red Sox would at least bury Johnny Damon or something, as if he hasn't been buried enough.

Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 I declare the best pitcher of this generation to be Pedro Martinez. And we definitely would've gotten a better list from this guy: "Listen, rummy, I'm gonna say it plain and simple. Where'd you pinch the hooch? Is some blind tiger jerking suds on the side?" milliondollarchamp 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 I'm so glad to hear that Eric "No longer Game Over" Gagne was included in the report. I kept saying it back when he was having his amazing save streak. Come on, this guy is a nobody and then all of a sudden he's throwing 98 mph and is lights out? Then the dweeb got mysteriously hurt, no doubt from the juice, and when he came back, viola, no more 98 mph fastball. Clear as day. Good thing this overrated chump signed his fat contract last week with Milwaukee. Guess he knew that he was going to get named and figured he better sign something fast. Clemen's has come out and denied ever using 'roids or HGH. Sure thing. Just man up and admit it, cuntsack.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 What if he really didn't use it? The guy that ratted him and Andy Pettitte out was threatened with jail time and could've lied.
Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted December 13, 2007 when he came back, viola, no more 98 mph fastball. Let's give a big friendly cello to the real Eric Gagne! Or are these just bassless allegations?

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 I'm just glad Bags wasn't listed. That would be a crushing blow to my baseball psyche. It really can't be stressed enough that this isn't a definitive list, it's simply a list. Take everyone on there to the bank, but I'm already sick of seeing, "well, so and so wasn't on there, he's clean." There's obviously going to be hundreds upon hundreds of players who used steroids but fell outside of the sphere of the investigation for whatever reason. It's impossible to catch everyone after the fact. Bagwell is a guy I'll always suspect and basically assume was on something, and I doubt I'll ever be swayed from that belief. It seems foolhardy to go to sleep at night with pleasant dreams of Bags dancing in your head based on this, but whatever, you do you. And re: the lack of Red Sox, I also find it suspicious, but not at all surprising due to the conflict of interest there. It would be like asking George Steinbrenner to investigate steroids and expecting to see A-Rod, Posada etc. show up on the list. Everyone's like, "oh, he's a former US senator, how can you question his integrity?" Last time I checked politicians were some of the dirtiest motherfuckers in the game, since when do we trust their word at face value? I don't care how respected he is, every crook in Washington has people who'll swear to their "integrity". Even if he didn't implicitly cover anything up there, there's no reason to think he wasn't influenced to look the other way or take certain things at face value without digging any deeper. Not saying he did, but would it surprise anyone? I'm skeptical of the integrity of every single person involved in the sport, and I don't see why Mitchell, a guy with direct and current ties to a major league baseball club, should be above all of that. And does anyone really believe that Selig didn't have some kind of input on the final draft and list of names, through whatever channels?

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 double post I also find it suspicious that there are really no relevant names on the list. All the "new names" are out of the game, past their prime or already heavily speculated upon and suspected (Clemens, Pettitte, Tejada). Not that I'm expecting to see Pujols, A-Rod or Ortiz like so many people speculated about, but doesn't it seem off to anyone when the biggest current name is Jack freakin Cust?!? Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted December 13, 2007 Look at the checks. Matt Herges wrote "Thanks!" in the memo space. Hahaha. You know, it's kinda disturbing that Clemens has sons going into baseball. Some example he's setting.
