Will Flair's career face the Raw Roulette wheel?

January 7, 2008

Ric Flair's year of living dangerously drew to a close last Monday night in Greensboro, N.C., where the Nature Boy dodged forced retirement for yet a third time. It was smack dab in the middle of "Flair Country" that the legend prevailed in an emotional Win-or-Retire match against his friend and protege, Triple H.

The improbable winning streak has left Randy Orton, Umaga and now Triple H in its wake as Flair struggles to keep from going under. But how much longer can “Naitch” really hope to keep his head above water? Or will the Nature Boy’s next match be his final goodbye as Raw comes to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.?

With Raw broadcasting live from the Connecticut gaming resort, "Raw Roulette" makes its return. For the first time in five years, Superstars will spin a wheel loaded with match stipulations, and will be forced to compete in the style the wheel selects.

The last Raw Roulette evening brought forth a Steel Cage Match, a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match, a Bra and Panties Match and a Street Fight. Who knows what the spin of the wheel will bring forth for an unpredictable Monday night?

The close of the year also brought unexpected spoils for Mr. Kennedy. The loudmouth from Green Bay, Wisc.,

promised a victory over Shawn Michaels before the end of 2007, and he made good on that promise, avoiding HBK’s fancy footwork and wrapping up the Showstopper for the three-count. Was Mr. Kennedy right for claiming that Michaels' days on top are numbered? Or will the maestro be able to strike up the band once more?

In other action, JBL made his ostentatious debut Monday night, complete with stretch limo, balloons and streamers and plenty of the Texas tycoon’s self-important bravado. Unfortunately for JBL, Chris Jericho was there to rope him in, interrupting his appearance as the two exchanged blows outside the ring. JBL no doubt hopes to hurt Y2J, but just how does the ornery cuss plan to go about it? And what will Jericho do in return?

For answers to these questions and more, tune in to Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

I'm still trying to figure out how last week HHH was able to stand up after suffering through a move that has won numerous championships and immediately Pedigree Flair? How does that make any sort of sense?

So I take it the wheel spinning isn't random?

Not unless they are really stupid like WCW was...remember when they didn't gimmick the wheel and Sting and Jake Roberts had a coal miners glove match?

I was totally thinking something similar to the live sex show...when I saw the Strange bedfellows portion of the wheel.

You thought they were gonna hump....that's disgusting son.

The crowd's trying to figure out what the fuck Haas is doing.

And so am I.

I'm not watching right now due to the West Coast, but if he's doing what he did on Heat, it is totally awesome and cool.

1) I'm so glad that a strange bedfellows match isn't live sex.

2) I really liked Haas' mask thing, but the fans sure didn't get it.

I'm pretty sure it is, but he didn't really get to do a whole lot with it. Pose a little, do a couple of goofy spots. That's about it.
