milliondollarchamp Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 LOS ANGELES - Brad Renfro, the young actor whose film career began at age 12 with "The Client" before dissolving as he struggled with drug and alcohol problems, has died. He was 25. His body was found in his Los Angeles home early Tuesday, his lawyer Richard Kaplan said. The cause of death was not immediately known. Renfro served 10 days in jail in May 2006 after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated and pleading guilty to attempted possession of heroin. He starred opposite Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones in "The Client." His other credits include "Ghost World" and "The Jacket." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080116/ap_on_en_mo/obit_renfro I am gona go with suicide.
Epic Reine Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 This is sad because he always seemed like he wanted to clean up his act but just kept relapsing.
Black Lushus Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 yet Jake Roberts and Scott Weiland still live...
Nighthawk Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Bully is one of my favorite movies. I liked the guy. This sucks but is not surprising.
CBright7831 Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 yet Jake Roberts, Scott Weiland, and Cory Feldman still live... Fixed.
Gary Floyd Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Bully is the only movie from Larry Clark that I can watch regularly, mostly because it is very well acted. Renfro was great in that movie. He was great in the otherwise mediocre Apt Pupil and Ghost World (which I never did like much). Shame really, I always thought he was underrated. RIP.
Black Lushus Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 yet Jake Roberts, Scott Weiland, and Cory Feldman still live... Fixed. I thought Feldman's been clean and sober for a long time now? Isn't it Haim that's still a fuck up?
Black Lushus Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Bully is the only movie from Larry Clark that I can watch regularly, mostly because it is very well acted. Renfro was great in that movie. not to mention Bijou Philips getting pounded...well minus the gay porn...
King Kamala Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I thought he was already dead. He was a pretty underrated talent. RIP.
Black Lushus Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon: Kevin Bacon fucks him in a cellar.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon: Kevin Bacon fucks him in a cellar. Wait, what? First movie I saw him in was Tom and Huck... but his most memorable, in my opinion, is Apt Pupil. Really sucky news. RIP.
Ravenbomb Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 That really sucks, he was really good and underused.
Black Lushus Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon: Kevin Bacon fucks him in a cellar. Wait, what? We don't see it, but in the movie "Sleepers", he was Brad Pitt's character as a child.
Ginger Snaps Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 so this is why he was on google trends. Twenty-five? I remember seeing a pic of him on the internet recently and he looked 10 years older than that. He must have been doing some really hard drugs.
treble Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I thought Bully sucked, but now I can't remember why. I do remember I hated his crying in that movie, with all the drooling and shit.
JHawk Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 yet Jake Roberts, Scott Weiland, and Cory Feldman still live... Fixed. I thought Feldman's been clean and sober for a long time now? Isn't it Haim that's still a fuck up? You can actually tell the two of them apart?
King Kamala Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Nowadays yes. Haim is pudgy one who isn't sober and Feldman is the little one who is.
Nighthawk Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I thought Bully sucked, but now I can't remember why. I do remember I hated his crying in that movie, with all the drooling and shit. I didn't like that either. The thing I liked about it was that the whole movie just felt dirty. From being semi-pornographic, to everyone looking like they have a perpetual sheen of sweat on them. You can practically feel the humidity. That actually happened not far from where I grew up, as a kid not unlike those in the movie, and that feeling really resonated.
Black Lushus Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 of course I can tell Haim and Feldman apart, I grew up in the 80s!
starvenger Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 yet Jake Roberts, Scott Weiland, and Cory Feldman still live... Fixed. They probably made the same deal with devil that Keith Richards did...
cd213 Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Shame he dies young, but I can't feel bad for someone that put their body through so much shit, drug-wise, and then dies probably as a result from all those drugs. If he had been murdered then that's one thing, but he brought this upon himself. If he was trying to get clean, good, but he already did so much shit it didn't matter.
Epic Reine Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 This is him getting arrested a few years ago. Someone snapped a picture of it, heh.

I'd say his most memorable performance was playing that little shit in The Client... But Apt Pupil was pretty good.
Craig Th Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Bully is one of my favorite movies. I liked the guy. This sucks but is not surprising. Mine too. Nick Stahl did steal the show though.
Nighthawk Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Bully>Gummo>Kids That's utilizing the Harmony Korine link. You know, I've still never gotten around to watching Julien Donkey Boy. I also agree that Nick Stahl was the standout in Bully.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Bully rocked. Drugs...maybe not the way to go, kid. Oh well.
