so, as the Patriots major upset of the Rams led to the Pats dynasty, will this upset become a similar transition, or are we going back to one-year wonder teams again?

I think the Giants have everything needed to repeat. Unless they are losing a lot of players to free agency, they have everything needed to build a dynasty in the NFL. They have a defense, they have great receivers and even Eli is slowly becoming a damn good quarterback.

The excitement is wearing off. This is the definition of a Pyrrhic victory.

The Giants were a fluke.

I bet $5 right now that says they dont even make the playoffs next season.

Fucking bullshit. Tuck had two sacks AND a forced fumble before the half.

Yea, that's who it shoulda gone to, but the NFL is way too QB centric/star centric to name the actual best player in the game.

No one is going to remember anything that happened in the first 3 quarters which were probably the worst in Super Bowl history.

All the highlight clip shows will be like "we skip ahead to the 4th quarter, trust us, you didnt miss anything"

A fluke? Really?

REALLY?

I must have been watching a different team. It's not like they have Trent Dilfer or Rex Grossman at quarterback. Eli has for the most part learned to pick up the blitz which was always his huge question mark. If he learns to stop playing chunk ball, he is going to be downright great.

Also, good for Tom Coughlin. Guy went from out of a job to Super Bowl Champion in a season. That's a damn good story right there...that will get ignored for the "Is Eli better than Peyton?" talk.

I'd have gone with Tuck as MVP, but Manning did engineer the game-winning drive, a couple of times making things happen when it appeared he was definitely going to be sacked.

Wrong choice but I can understand the logic.

I do too...but you have to recognize one of the best defensive performances -EVER- by the Giants. I mean the way they controlled the Patriots this game was simple amazing. Some people are saying the first three quarters were bad, but to me as a fan of the X's and O's of football, they impressed and interested me the most.

So the Giants made a motherfuckin' fool out of me and my stupid fuckin prediction. Congrats NY Giants and Giants fans.

With that said, I think this superbowl will be another one that is mistaken for being "one of the best" merely because of the close score, while the overall game itself was pretty lackluster and mediocre and probably won't stand the test of time. In other words it reeks of why this era of the NFL is just not on par with the NFL 15-20 years ago. Sure, I am a hater, but I am also drunk so fuck it.......

I think the Giants totally shutting down the best offense ever is something to make it more than average. They had a special defensive performance in this game.

Defense. Wins. Championships.

You know what. Honestly I would agree with that sentiment, except for the fact that in the postseason the Pats never looked like the dominating team of the regular season. This is what I tried to convey to people. I fault myself for being so sure they would get it together for the superbowl, but for a 16-0 team, they sure were an average post-season team, and quite frankly they always have been, even in their all there superbowl winning years There are many teams from the past I could point to that might have had a few losses during the season, but come post-season time, they kicked the collective asses of the opposition. Then you havre the Pats, where basically 90% of your games come down to a GM FG in the closing seconds. Winning is winning, but when you are making the argument for "Best team ever" games like these don't help your cause.......of fuck I am rambling......

Thank You Mr. med_Crown_Royal.jpg

Mercury Morris just torched the Booyah Network. "It was important that New York won because they were better! You guys built them up to be a champion in the second week!"

Cuttin' promos on asses. I loves you Mercury.

Indeed... is Manning-mania any more preferable to the New England love?

I expect ads in the future depicting the Manning bros holding up their rings out like they're summoning Captain Planet

Hopefully we never have to hear this disrespected shit again.

They got disrespected by the Giants.

"Peyton Manning disrespected us by cheering for the Giants."

The best thing about this is the Giants have some great young talent that can only get better.

Bradshaw, Ross, Boss, Smith, Tuck, Usi, etc.

Jerry Rees has to exec of the year.

and Ernie Accorsi also deserves a lot of credit.

FUCK ESPN and their "Giants stand no chance" talking point. I don't think there's enough crow in the world for all the people that need to eat it.
