Guest (Loggins Name) Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Fucking bullpen gave that away. Congratulations, Bobby Howry, you got beat by Craig Counsell, you fuckhead. Get him with that 85-mph heat.
snuffbox Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Can we just release Gagne already. Pretty lame when the team has to win in spite of their closer.
Guest (Loggins Name) Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 I'm going to unprofessionally take out my anger somewhere on this board.
Dobbs 3K Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 And Gagne gets the win, ironically! Â HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Cartman Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 How much did the Brewers give Gag-ne? 10 Mil? LOL
Bruiser Chong Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 If anything, today did much in Fukudome's favor to ensure he won't be in the fifth spot long. Theriot leading off followed by Soriano is a recipe for futility.
Dobbs 3K Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Yeah, Fukudome looks like a monster with magical powers so far.
Guest (Loggins Name) Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 I'm not going to support playing Ronny Cedeno, because Ronny Cedeno sucks, but I think we've squeezed the Ryan Theriot lemon dry. He's a AAAer at best, I fear.
naiwf Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Kaz Matsui had a great debut too. I'm just sayin'.
jwest27 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Ugh, game postponed after a 5-1 Cardinals lead. Goddamn rain. I was starting to feel optimistic about the season too.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Anyone else watching the Angels/Twins game?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Anything good happening? Nothing beyond a 1-0 game going into the fourth.
Bored Posted April 1, 2008 Author Report Posted April 1, 2008 Not sure if it has been mentioned or not but a reminder that MLB Extra Innings is free for the opening week as usual. Only two games on right now though, Pirates/Braves and Rangers/Mariners. Braves are now on something called Peachtree TV.
Guest Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 I'm pretty sure Joe Torre is going to be known as God in these parts before long. Not that I would call him God, oh no.
HarleyQuinn Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Watching the game and nice to see Everett see 6 pitches and still line into a double play. Â Although I have to admit... Gomez is somewhat worth watching by himself.

devo Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Don't really have anything to add regarding the Mets game, except that it was really, really fun to be there live. Fan ratio was about 3:2 in favor of the Marlins. Mets fans were being drunk jerks as usual. I saw Logan Kensing don a Naruto headband and do his Mr. Miyagi impersonation. Â Goin' again tomorrow. Â
Bruiser Chong Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Juan Pierre's consecutive game streak ended with him not getting an appearance in today's game. It's too bad, in a way. He's the same player he was when the Dodgers inked him to that deal. Not a good one, but still the same.

He's the same player he was when the Dodgers inked him to that deal. Not a good one, but still the same. In a perfect world, he's have a center field job somewhere for a non-contender. He's not a great outfielder, but he's probably better than some starter out there in the majors.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Ugh, game postponed after a 5-1 Cardinals lead. Goddamn rain. I was starting to feel optimistic about the season too. Â Pujols had a great shot in the game, but now they have to face Kip Wells. Scared yet, Cards fans? Â I'm glad it got postponed to when I could actually watch it.
devo Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Pittsburgh blows a five run lead in the bottom of the ninth thanks to a single, a bunch of walks, and a misplayed fly ball. Â Yep, they're still the Pirates.
Vampiro69 Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 I see Brian Giles is batting leadoff for the Padres. Has he ever batted leadoff before?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 I see Brian Giles is batting leadoff for the Padres. Has he ever batted leadoff before? Yeah, 78 games last season. He also started 20 games leading off in 1997.

He also started 20 games leading off in 1997. Â Never knew that he had batted leadoff before. For some reason whenever I saw Giles in the leadoff spot I kept thinking it was MARCUS GILES.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 I'd love to watch Pittsburgh/Atlanta, but it's blacked out. Can't infringe on the Pirates' territorial rights ya know.
KingPK Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 If you have Comcast, I believe MLB Extra Innings is free this week, so you should be able to watch every game.
Bored Posted April 1, 2008 Author Report Posted April 1, 2008 Blackout rules apply to MLB Extra Innings as well and MLB has some ridiculous blackout rules. I can still remember years ago during a free preview week of EI the A's were in Seattle and the game wasn't televised locally yet they still backed it out. Apparently if I were a real fan I should have flown Seattle and bought a ticket to see it person.
devo Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Pirates finally put the Braves away, winning 12-11 in twelve innings. Absolutely crazy game, rife with errors, unexpected big hits and the complete excavation of both teams' bullpens.
