I'd have put Paul on the 1st team since Bowen is just too dirty to be honored for his "defense".

What was the low ball offer Matt Barnes got? I wouldn't pay too much money for him. Not saying he's awful, but how much did he want?

You got me. I just know that he wasn't happy with their offer to the point he called it insulting. Pietrus went to the "insulting" word too for their for and now has Baron.

Matt Barnes made $3 million this year, and Pietrus made $3,474,770. Those are hardly "lowball" offers for those two guys.

Those are one year qualifying offers alf. they were looking for long term deals, and I am guessing they weren't offerd that much.

I am just saying, when you have 3 guys complaining about "insulting" offers, maybe you have a FO that is gun shy after giving Troy Murphy 50 million and Mike Dunlevey...whatever the hell he is making.

Yeah, I didn't consider the quaifying offer thing. But I think that was just with Pietrus, I'm pretty sure Barnes was unrestricted.

I understand what you're trying to say about the front office, but Barnes and Pietrus have been pretty minimal contributers to that team, and I wouldn't put much stock into what those two feel entitled to, when you're comparing them to what Baron Davis has done for the Warriors.

So Chicago Jerry is crying about D'Antoni signing with the Knicks. Apparently, he knew that the bulls were eventually going to PROBABLY make him an offer so he should have waited. It was misleading of him to take a job and not wait. Jesus that guy is delusional.

I am looking forward to seeing what the Knicks can do. Its being reported that management is down on Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa, so the Knicks will probably make a play for them. And seeing as Dan D'Antoni is like Barbosa's personal coach, I think that they might just need to move him.

I personally think they are going to make a play for TJ Ford too. It could be one interesting year.

Ugh, the Horseshit Owner is such a dumbass. Do you know why D'Antoni said he wanted to coach the Bulls? So that the Knicks would trip over themselves to hand him millions of dollars. He never wanted to coach the Bulls. If he really wanted to, he would have! I'm guessing he must be too busy colluding with Bud Selig and Sam Zell, as he's done in the past, to have a fucking clue what's happening with the Chicago Bulls. Not like their six championships matter. Just ask him.

I truely think that he wanted to coach the bulls.

But then, he did the interview. Jerry said he doesn't speak to coaches agents, then told him if he wanted something done quickly, they should stop talking.

So basically, he left a team because he felt that a owner and GM were trying to be too controlling and Jerry acted as controlling as possible during a interview making him not want to coach there.

I honestly think interviewing with the Knicks was a ploy to get the Bulls to step up to the plate, but then the Knicks told him they would do whatever to the roster to make it work for him.

So basically Jerry just fucked up.

I also find it funny/pathetic that the Suns blocked Mike from interviewing with the Raptors. I am a Suns fan forever, but robert Sarver buying the team is one of the worse things ever.

PLEASE take him. Thet Crawford/Ford deal that keeps getting rumored sounds sweeter everyday.

And it's no shock Sarver doesn't want D'Antoni in Toronto, he hates Brian Colangelo and would do almost anything to spite him. Too bad since another year of Sam Mitchell is not something I'm excited about.

Does anyone have a clue why it seems like everyone in the media is calling him D'Antonio all of a sudden? I've heard that mistake at least 40 times since the Suns were eliminated and never once before that.

I haven't heard that. I've heard "Mike D. Antoni," though.

Well... It's a cooler name. D'antonio. Kornheiser does it as a joke. I don't know about the rest of 'em.

From the LA Times...

Lakers assistant coaches Kurt Rambis and Brian Shaw are being considered as possibilities for the head coaching job in Phoenix, though the Suns have not formally contacted the Lakers for permission to speak to them.

Rambis, 50, coached the Lakers during training camp last season while Jackson recovered from hip surgery, and he had experience as a head coach in 1999, going 25-13 after taking over for Del Harris as the Lakers' interim coach.

Shaw, 42, has been a Lakers assistant since midway through the 2004-05 season and played for the Lakers during their three-championship run from 2000-02.

Both coaches interviewed for vacancies last season, Rambis with Sacramento and Seattle, Shaw with Sacramento and Indiana.

Both would be good choices, but I would pick Shaw of the two. Rambis is a really good assistant coach, but when coaching Shaq in the past, things just didn't click. I don't think Shaq respects him. Shaw's going to be a fantastic coach, but anyone hiring him should know that when the Lakers job opens in the future, he'll be willing to jump. Both would, really. But when that happens, Byron Scott will be the guy anyway.

I was thinking the same thing as well...seemed like he was only in his late-20s, early-30s when he was on those Lakers' championship teams.

I mean, I remember watching alot of guys in their rookie years...Reggie Miller, David Robinson guys like that, but shit, it just didnt feel like he was that old.

Brian Shaw was so important to the Lakers and people forget that alot though. that guy would kill ya.

According to the Bergen Record, the Nets and Nuggets have been discussing a big trade, with the primary pieces being Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby going to the Nets in exchange for Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Keith Van Horn's contract and the Nets' lottery pick.

Vince Carter and Anthony on the same team...hahahahaha

Why would the Nuggets give up 2/3 of their starting frontcourt for a lesser small forward, a back up point guard, an expiring contract and a lottery pick? I can kind of see why the Nets would make the deal but Denver would be much worse off.

The Nets get better although they basically turn into Denver East now with 2 scorers, Marcus Camby and nothing else. Interesting trade for the Nuggets but they, undoubtably, give up a lot more talent than they receive.

However, there's a good chance this never happens.

They get a lottery pick, and get rid of Camby who thinks he should be more involved in the offense. They also get rid of the two worse defenders in their starting lineup. And marcus williams is a upgrade at their starting point guard (Anthony Carter? Really?)

They would need to get a big unless they are counting on Nene being around next year. But a team of Nene, Kenyon, Jefferson, Iverson, Williams really isn't that bad, if all you have to give up is a whining chucker with questionable heart and a guy that doesn't play defense but just gets alot of weakside blocks, manages to shoot 44 percent but get mad that he doesn't get more shots.

How would they guard anyone on LA's frontline (or any other team with guys over 6'8 at the forward/center spots) next year with that group of relative midgets? I don't think they would end up scoring any more with that lineup than the squad they had this year, but would almost certainly give up another 5 points or more per game.

Nene is a 7 footer. And he doesn't weight 185lbs like Camby does. And a better defender than Camby. Kenyon is a 6'9 PF. It doesn't matter how tall jefferson is because Carmelo is a god awful defender and anyone is a upgrade.

i don't see how you can think that team is worse defensively when they get rid of the two worse defenders.

Only thing they lose is depth at the big man spots and those can be had with the lottery pick or any free agent big men floating around. They could spend money on a guy like Diop for the MLE and have him as a backup/starterwhenNenegetsinjured.

Nene is foul prone, and as you said, they lose frontcourt depth for a PG who isn't a franchise PG and a SF who is no better than the one they had already. I personally would never trade an "elite" center for a marginal PG unless you're in a situation where you're trying to clear cap space or getting rid of a team cancer in the process. If that's what Denver is trying to do, then it's a good deal for both teams.

Marcus Camby is a horrible player that blocks some shots every game. thats not a elite center. marcus Williams has great skills to play the point and a uptempo system would allow him to thrive. People think New Jersey was a running team because they had kid and athletes, but they were one of the slowest teams in the league offensively. It simply didn't fit his style, although he showed great flashes in his rookie year.

Maybe you are moving laterally with the Richard Jefferson thing, but you are getting rid of Camby's horrible contract, and what will turn out to be a horrible max contract for Melo if his balls don't drop in the next couple of years.

So from a contract standpoint, its a great deal for Denver. From a player standpoint, they lose some scoring at the 3, but the same time, you DO have Iverson. You also upgrade your point guard position and get rid of Camby, who, I repeat, really sucks.
