Boon 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 And I don't know if I have mentioned it or not, but if I somehow arranged a deal where if I killed one of you I could fuck Candace Parker for a specified amount of time.... Just saying...if I show up at your door, just take one for the team and think of the greater good... I think the greater good would be better served if you killed most of TSM. Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 The problem with the physics is how Pierce can be called for a charge while Lebron is blocking him while his feet are moving sideways. Clearly we're all seeing what we want to see, except for the walk which we seemingly all agree on but was somehow "a good call." The fact of the matter is this has been an ugly series by players, coaches and officials alike. Playing like this, neither of these teams are going to beat Detroit, let alone anyone from the west. You don't have to be stationary to get a charge called. That is a big misconception by alot of people. Its not about seeing what I want to see. Its about what happened. Pierce jumped INTO the player after he got stripped clean. He tried to flop and flopped in the wrong direction. Might have been a no call, except there was a loose ball when Pierce jumped into Lebron, thus it was a foul.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 So he's unlikeable because other people like him? I hate hearing about him ALL the time. I'm tired of having him shoved down my throat anytime I watch anything sports or NBA-related. I'm tired of people trying to claim he's better than Jordan (guess what? Jordan never lost a finals let alone get swept!) It has nothing to do with other people liking him. People like Chris Paul, I like Chris Paul. I've been told Lebron James is the best player in the NBA since he was in HS. I'm tired of it. I react badly when someone is crammed down my throat. You dislike him because he is arguably the best player in the world. In case you didn't notice, when someoen is the best at what they do, they are usually talked abotu alot. The throat cramming of the Celtics have been just as big since people handed them the title the day after the trade was made. Boston 3 party, did you guys wear the same thing to work, watching the hoosiers on the bus...they are in just as many commercials as Lebron is right now. The problem people are pointing out your irrational over the top hatred is that you are being hypcoritcal with it. There is nothing wrong with disliking a player, but there is a line when you are a little...insane. You crossed that line. And seeing as you don't dislike the guy because of him, but more because he is a talked about player, thats hardly enough reason to go to insane hate level. At worse, you have to admit you are kinda extreme dude. Ok so I'm extreme. Whatever, it's probably not going to change. I'm tired of being witness.

Put it this way, if Pierce had been on defense and LeBron on offense they would have called the same play a blocking foul on Pierce. I don't think anyone would argue that which is why it's a bad call. If anything it should have been a no call given that it essentially handed the Cavs the game there. "L-TRAIN taking all five defenders to the hole, consequently, he was fouled for the AND ONE!!!" That said, I love it.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 You can't say that would have been a blocking foul on Pierce. that didn't happen. What did happen was the Pierce jumped into a guy after he got stripped clean. What ifs don't come into play here. what did happen was that pierce jumped into the defensive player. I don't see how anyone is arguing that anything else happned. And what was it, a 5 point game with 49 seconds left? that didn't HAND them anything. And on another end, Michael Wilbon gets paid to talk about basketball and has no idea what he is talking about. First of all wilbon, the defensive player doesnt ahve to be set. Second of all, its not goal tending because the ball hit the side of the back board.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 I hate the idea that just because a guy's feet are moving that it has to be a foul on the defender. If a guy blatantly creates contact like Pierce did on that play, then it should be a foul on that guy. I have no problem with that call whatsoever. I don't think it's a LeBron thing, I think if the game is in Boston, then they call it a block. Those type of plays are why home court advantage matters. That said, I do think it's funny that the same people who were complaining about the David West offensive foul last night are tripping over themselves to defend LeBron here. The first paul offensive call was a good call though, and so was west across duncans arms. West doing nothing around Manu and Bowen being shot out a cannon were both really bad calls that all came. Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 This hostility amuses me beyond all reason... At the start of the playoffs, I was rooting for the Celtics; now I'm hoping that the Cavaliers pull it out, just to spite Dama. naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 If the foul goes against LeBron, the Celts can cut it to a one possession game from the line. If it's a no call, then it's side out to Boston. Instead, the Cavs get the ball back on a turnover and ice the game from there. They didn't win the game on that call, but it certainly sealed it for them. Well it doesn't really matter because the west team is going to beat the shit out of whoever comes out of the East. naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 The Lakers are looking like the Lakers again now that Kobe isn't gimping his way up and down the floor. I know that he won't be back this season, but what's up with Bynum? The new slogan for the league should be "NBA action is floptastic!" Kinetic 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 The Piston or the Celtics would kick the shit out of the Lakers. Do you realize that the Celtics have now lost six straight road playoff games to the Hawks and the Cavaliers? And they're going to kick the shit out of the Lakers? If by "kick the shit out of..." you mean edge in 7, maybe. But Boston isn't legitimately kicking the shit out of anyone.
