I know they've lost before, but with the possible exception of the Dallas series a couple years ago, I haven't really felt like "those guys are going to beat the Spurs"

Well, that's because they already played the Suns in these playoffs..

Yeah, but the calls in the 3rd were horrible. that second offensive foul on Paul and two of those fouls on West were just plain ridiculous. Then they went on the usual touch fouls on one end, murder is okay on the other end.

I don't THINK the Hornets could have won either way, but that third quarter was atrocious. I am just saying, Lakers and Celtics better watchout.

I didn't start really watchin the game till the 3rd quarter and it was fucking ridiculous. Those 2 quick fouls on CP3 then the personal on dude I can't remember then they slapped him with a tech. I couldn't believe that shit. Then the spurs continued to flop everywhere and get the calls. Also, Horry being a complete whore of a human being didn't help either. It was hard to watch the rest of the game.

Trevor Ariza started practicing a few days ago...he said he could play in a possible Game 7, if we need him. Trust me, if this series goes to seven, we need him. His defense would be huge.

He could even play a few minutes tomorrow, but I REALLY doubt that.

The NBA really needs to put in a flopping foul. Now.

It happens all over the league now, but the Spurs for whatever reason seem to be the biggest culprits (probably coached that way by Pop, as it is a good strategy until called). The second offensive foul on Paul where he slightly touched Bowen, then it looked like someone shot Bowen was sad. Also, even Duncan is in on the act now.

I'd steal the idea of yellow cards from soccer, well not _literally_, but assess a technical foul for blatant flopping, in the same vein that you can get carded for diving.

You know what I just noticed? NBA officiating is a little suspicious sometimes. No, really, hear me out on this one. There have been some calls in the last two games that...I don't know, they just didn't seem right to me. I'll be monitoring this situation closely tonight, and I'll be sure to promptly report back to the message board with my findings.

The best fix for the flopping would be for the refs to not call it. If a player flys like he just got shot out of a cannon, don't call it. that simple. If a player takes a simple bump on a back down and hits the deck like he got punched in the face, then don't call it and let the offensive guy turn around and shoot the wide open shot.

They have been calling it less though and thats good. But last night...in the third, things got plain silly.

Now I remember why I hate this chick doing colour commentary on this game, she's Lebron's biggest fan. God I wish this series would end, I don't want to be witness to anything.

The officiating is also monumentally shitty right now. The Celtics are getting whipped on and nothing is called but the Cavs are barely touched and the whistle blows. Ugh.

Cavs go on a big run to take a 9 point lead. I just hope to God that the Celtics continue their home dominance in Game 7. I don't think I can stomach another Pistons/Cavs ECF. Fuck both those teams, hard. Bring on Celtics vs. Lakers! Either LA wins the title or KG gets a ring. It'd be a win-win for me.

This game sucks. It's typical of this round in that the home team has a double digit lead, but both teams are playing like shit. The Celtics have, like, 35 points midway through the 3rd quarter. And this team is going to win a championship? My ass. These guys are going to be eaten alive by whoever comes out of the West.

Let me just say that Kevin Garnett is the creepiest guy in pro sports right now. Like, let's say your mom is divorced and she comes to you and says that she's getting married to KG. He's your new Dad. I mean, fuck no. That guy is going to watch you sleep. That guy is going to watch you try on jeans.

Also, let me say that complaining about officiating in NBA games is stupid. It is what it is and it's been that way for years. Learn to live with it.

Well I hope D-Wa......Lebron James doesn't get all the horseshit calls throughout the rest of the playoffs. It was absurd he had more FTA's than the whole Celtics team. Bullshit flop there at the end.

Hopefully the Celtics get the benefit of the bad refereeing at home in game 7(because you know there will be bad ref'n).

Also I hope to never hear that chick call another game involving Lebron. Everything the guy did she had to launch into a long praise of how great it is and how much better it is than anybody else. "Lebron is bleeding. Look at the consistency of the blood. It's just so strong, the NBA has never seen blood like that before."

That charge wasn't a horrible call. LeBron tipped the ball and Pierce's reaction was throwing himself in the air like a little shit head to draw a foul call and it backfired.

Please. You can't be that dumb. His feet were moving - sideways. There is no way, shape or form that play can be an offensive foul. That call wasn't the only thing that cost the Celtics the game, but it sure as shit made things a hell of a lot worse.

Please. You MUST be that dumb. LeBron wasn't trying to draw a charge. He went for the steal and Pierce threw himself into it. Therefore it's a charge.

What cost the Celtics is their sucky ass play. Not the officials. You won't get calls shooting jumpshots.

I didn't see the questionable charge at the end, but the calls seemed all right most of the game (I watched through the last 3 minutes of the 3rd). I mean, LeBron is a huge, fast dude. He gets smacked when he drives because it's one of the few ways to stop him. If he can get enough of a head start going, he's going to get to the hoop, and it's tough to get position on him because of how quick and just flat out good he is. Go look at the shot charts on the CBS box score and you'll notice that the Celtics are heavily a jump-shooting team this game, and that Garnett and Pierce don't take the same kind of action that's going to lead to as many fouls as LeBron draws either.

I'm not going to completely say he doesn't get star treatment and I'm certainly not going to say that NBA officiating is anything close to perfect, but you're ignoring a large facet of LeBron's game and ability by wholly discounting his ability to get to the line.

This series has had two of the worst-played, poorly officiated games (game 1 and game 6) that I have ever seen. I turned the game off at halftime and just listened to the radio call the rest of the way because I couldn't stand watching that crap any more. The ECF won't go past 5 games regardless of who wins Sunday,

Part of me is rooting for a Cavs win just so I can hope that the Pistons get mad as hell over what happened last year and just ravage them in 4 games. I'm not a Pistons fan by any means but I picked them to win the Eastern Conference once the brackets were announced so....yea.
